Into The Zombie World Chapter 223

"I can manage but I can't speed up." Dario replied as he stood up from the ground. His legs were still shaky from the after-effects of the poison but any second now he would be able to walk normally.
Dario heard and saw what was happening since the beginning. Only his body was paralyzed, not his mind hence he was still aware of what was going on in his surroundings.
"Alright… But we need to rush, lest we allow the zombies to catch up on us." Mario replied as he stood up from before approaching the still paralyzed Emon.
He bandages Emon's wound tightly before placing him on piggyback.
Dario also did the same towards Dexter but his situation was much worse as he had already lost consciousness from blood loss.
It was a kind of blessing that he was already a level two human or else, he would have died directly from the wound on his throat alone.
"You poor thing... Dexter-kun! But bear with me, I would surely bring you back to the base to get you treated." Dario claimed as he wraps Dexter with his blazer before carrying him in piggyback.
"Let's go!" Mario yelled before sprinting towards the direction of the Blue Wave Faction.
…
"I think this is far enough!" Burnok said as he placed the unconscious Damian to the ground slowly.
"What do you mean enough? We'll gonna die here if we stay any longer. Didn't you say that the zombies are fast approaching this area?" Burge retorted strongly as he didn't want his friend to get eaten here by those rampaging zombies.
He guessed that those zombies might have heard the commotion and chose to follow the noises all the way here. Trying to search for their food.

"It doesn't matter. I lied to you guys so that we could escape. There were no zombies approaching the area."
"That Mario was strong, even with the two of us, we might not be able to defeat him. Not to mention that you were quite injured now, so we definitely don't have a chance against him."
"But…"
"No buts, I still don't want to die and I also don't want the faction that I've joined crumbled just because of you for small reasons. Besides, your friend is not even dead yet." Burge wanted to retort but Burnok beat him to it by speaking without stopping.
"Alright but I won't let them escape next time." Burge finally conceded after seeing how stubborn Burnok was. He also knew that he won't be able to do anything even if he did come back.
Burnok nodded his head in affirmation. However, he was already sweating bullets deep inside him. 'It's good that he conceded immediately…'
The real reason why Burnok decided to interfere in the fight was because he was worried that if someone died, the power balance and status quo of the town would be disrupted.
And when that happens, the hybrids would also make their moves.
'That Emon guy though. I think I've seen him somewhere before…' Burnok pondered.
"Well… we don't have nothing to do so we might as well return to the base for now." He added after thinking about it for a bit.
If they don't leave now, Burnok was already lowkey afraid of what will happen. The scenario from before might repeat, and he doesn't want to get careless again. There was also the Beheader who he was very worried about.
'That guy is insanely strong. I don't want my head to burst like that zombie.' He muttered as he recalled the scene of the zombie's head exploding like a balloon yesterday.

Mario nodded his head in affirmation as he also thought that there is no use staying in here anymore. Although they still did not accomplish their mission as they didn't explore the whole northern part yet, there will always be another opportunity. And besides, they already suspected the 'mask' guy to be the Beheader so at least they have something to report.
And with that, they immediately set off towards the Pink Wave Faction base.
Although unintentional, what Burnok said about zombies approaching had actually come true.
A few moments after Mario and his brother left the premises, a mixture of Level one and Level Two° zombies actually appeared in the area.
Burnok's lie actually managed to save the life of Mario and the others as well as his own life.
…
At the north-east side of town, Nile could be seen riding atop Maximo as he searched for zombies along the way.
Croco already managed to kill five wandering level one zombies on his own. He was also able to fight a level two zombie alone now and if the zombie got careless, there's even a chance that Croco would be able to kill them.
Maximo and Ogis had not been idle either as they also contributed to their own way.
Ogis as the lookout even received praise from Nile as he always spots a zombie easily with his mutated eyes.
And for Maximo, he contributed a lot by being Nile's steed…
"Sigh! zombies are very scarce nowadays. Should I use the 360° sensor and see if there're zombies around me? Ogis might have missed a thing or two." Nile thought, trying to decide if he should use the 'expensive' skill, 360° sensor to search for zombies or just leave it to fate and wait for zombies to be spotted by his pet Ogis.
"Alright… I'm gonna use it but just this once." Nile didn't ponder over it for too long as he decided to try his luck.
Every activation of the 360° sensor will deduct his Apocalypse Points by 2 points and would last for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, if he still didn't deactivate the skill, the System will automatically deduct 0.50 Apocalypse points every second that would pass.
"System, activate the 360° sensor and stop immediately after 5 seconds… no more no less." Nile ordered resolutely, afraid of being 'accidentally' robbed by the System.

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.
