Yehaaa!

Like a horse breaking out of its cage for the first time, the hybrids went wild with their cheers as they surrounded Katrina and the leader.

The situation was dire for the two humans but it seems that neither of them wanted to escape.

"Misus, just leave me behind, I'm already done for anyway." Katrina said in a dejected tone.

They were not supposed to come near the Town Hall. It was the plan. However, the leader insisted that they come to check.

As a new member of the Pink Surge Faction high ranking members, she could do nothing other than to follow the leader's request. Not to mention, Katrina was already head over heels to the leader so declining the leader's request was never an option for her.

"Hehehe! What are you even talking about!" The Leader burst into laughter while wiping the rolling blood on their cheeks.

"If we die, let's die together!"

The leader shouted as they swung the blade on their hand, cutting a hybrid's arm in the process.

Katrina smiled as she recalled the time when the leader saved her heroically a month ago from the mouth of a zombie. She was already at her wit's end back then and she was already ready to abandon her life.

However, like a hero saving the damsel in distress, the feminine leader saved her in the nick of time.

"Misus, I… I have a confession to make!" Katrina steeled her resolve as she prepared to confess her feelings towards the leader.

A claw pass-through her side but fortunately, she managed to evade it at the last second.

Swish!

She swung her club full of nails and instantly ruptured the attacker's arm in the process. She then kicked the hybrid away as she jumped back towards the leader's side.

The leader tilted their head towards Katrina's direction.

"What is it?" The leader scrutinized their brow in confusion as they were literally in the middle of a fight and yet here she is trying to slow them down even more.

Katrina suddenly got nervous after hearing the leader's voice.

"I… I…"

She stuttered a few times before she finally said it out loud after seeing an incoming hybrid clawing the leader's direction.

"I love you?!!" She hurriedly said as she pulled the leader towards her, completely averting the leader's body from getting pierced by the claw.

The hybrids stopped their action right away after hearing Katrina's sudden confession.

They looked at each other with a dumbfounded expression and a while later, all of them clutched their stomach at the same time as they burst into a fit of laughter that was full of ridicule.

"Hey guys, come look at this!"

One hybrid signaled for the others as he pointed at Katrina and the Leader.

Every hybrid traced where his hands were pointed to and when they realize that it was actually a sign of a love hotel, they burst into another fit of laughter again.

He then looked at the human duo and said, "How about this? We'll let you go to the love hotel to let you two make 'love' for the last time before we kill you?"

The hybrids burst into another laughter again as they glance at each other, clearly making fun of Katrina's confession during a fight.

The leader scrutinized their brow even further at the sudden confession. The leader then turned their head towards the talkative hybrid and without any warning, the leader threw their blade towards him with an extreme speed.

The hybrid was taken aback by the sudden turn of events and when he came to it, the blade had already pierced his throat.

And just as he was about to take it out, his view suddenly started spinning as he slowly dropped to the ground, dead.

Hybrid blood slowly drips out of his wound as the leader arrives to retrieve the blade.

"I told you to shut up, didn't I? Hehehe!"

Swish!

The leader swings the blade again to completely behead the talkative hybrid.

"I'll give my reply if ever we get out of here alive." The leader turned their head towards Katrina before turning around to stare at the dozens of hybrids surrounding them.

Katrina could smile wryly at the leader's response. She risked it all to confess during this time however as she doesn't know if they could still survive this ordeal.

However, the leader chose to ignore her as they focus on the thing they should be focusing on right now, the battle.

The hybrids were taken aback after seeing their comrade getting beheaded in front of them. However, they only stared at it for a second before ignoring the dead body completely.

After all, only by eating human and zombie meat would they be able to get stronger. They also don't like the taste of their own comrade as it tastes like mud.

"Kill them!" One hybrid said as he twirled the weapon that looked like a spike on his hands.

The others followed his order willingly as they also wanted to get this over with immediately.

As time went by, the leader's and Katrina's wounds were getting more and more apparent. They could now literally be called as blood humans due to their bloody appearance.

Katrina in particular was in the worst state. She only became a level two human a week ago and she could still not control her strength to fight properly.

If not for the leader saving her from time to time, she might have already become a cold corpse by now.

"Misus! I'm telling you, just abandon me right now and escape. I'll cover a few seconds for you!" Realizing her current state, Katrina already lost hope. She already decided to give back the life that she owed to the leader by covering for their escape.

However, the leader is still as hard-headed as always even with their bloody get-up.

"No means no! Focus on the fight! Let's escape after we finish them all!"

The hate towards the hybrid was apparent to the tone of the leader's voice.

The leader could've escape by their own but still chose to remain, not just for Katrina, but also in a bid to dwindle the hybrid's population.
