The nurse woke up with a start and said, "Oh! Sorry, young miss. I will do it now."

Feng Xinying ensured that the drip was changed and then left the room to take a nap. She had set her alarm to 12am. It was only 8pm so she still had a good four hours.

At 12am the alarm woke her up. It was so loud that she had to instantly shut it, afraid that Xie Yuansheng would get disturbed. She leapt out of the bed and got dressed in a black skirt and pink silk blouse to go to the airport. Before leaving, she again peeped into his bedroom. To her shock she saw that Xie Yuansheng was again mumbling and the nurse was lolling her head in sleep. She had no clue as to what was happening!

Feng Xinying was so angry with the nurse that she poked her shoulder and said, "Did you give him the medicine?"

The nurse woke up this time feeling ashamed. She ran to the table where the medicine was kept and brought it over to give to Xie Yuansheng. But he wasn't in any condition to eat it.

The nurse looked at Feng Xinying helplessly. Feng Xinying was panicky and wondering as to how to leave Xie Yuansheng and go to pick Keira. She felt like strangling the nurse.

With the help of Feng Xinying, the nurse picked up Xie Yuansheng and tried to make him eat his medicine. But Xie Yuansheng just spat it out.

Feng Xinying was getting desperate by the minute.

She held Xie Yuansheng's head in position and softly said in his ear, "Xie Yuansheng, if you are hearing me, please have this medicine, otherwise, I will have to take you to the hospital tomorrow…"

She placed the medicine in his mouth and gave him water. Xie Yuansheng opened his eyes slightly and took a sip from the glass. Feng Xinying was relieved and then helped him to sleep back on his pillow. She looked at the dumb nurse and said, "Where is his phone?"

The nurse rushed to the coffee table where his phone was kept and brought it to her.

Feng Xinying opened his phone and dialed Xie Shenjun's number.

"What's up, bro? Calling at this hour?" he said as soon as he picked up the phone.

"Hello!" she said.

Xie Shenjun's eyebrows went high up near his hair. A woman calling from his brother's phone – this was the first time.

"Where is Xie Yuansheng?" he asked, his sixth sense kicking in.

"Before you get your knickers twisted, this is Feng Xinying. Xie Yuansheng is having a very high fever and I have to tend to him," said Feng Xinying, looking at the nurse angrily. "I have a small favor to ask you," she added.

Xie Shenjun was suddenly concerned. "Do you want me to get the doctor? How is he now?"

"He is not so well. So I already called the doctor. I will be tending to him for the night," she said and paused. "Keira, my friend will be coming from the US tonight at 2am. Can you go and pick her up from the airport?" she requested.

Xie Shenjun was immediately relieved when he heard that Feng Xinying was tending to his brother. He said, "Sure, Feng Xinying. Please don't worry, I will get her from the airport personally and drop her at Feng Mansion."

"Actually, I have made separate arrangements for her to stay. She will be here for a month. I will message you the apartment details where you have to drop her," said Feng Xinying.

"Ok, ok. I'll do that, and I will come tomorrow to see Xie Yuansheng," said Xie Shenjun.

"Ok…" replied Feng Xinying and ended the call. She messaged the address to Xie Shenjun and looked at the nurse. To her surprise, the nurse was again dozing off. 'Is she on some kind of drug?' wondered Feng Xinying. All her plans to be with Keira were ruined by that nurse, and she felt like slapping her.

Then she turned to look at Xie Yuansheng. It had only been fifteen minutes since the medicine was given to him and he was still uncomfortable. He turned his body to the left and was almost near the edge of the bed as his hands dropped out of the bed. Feng Xinying, fearing that he would fall from the bed, rushed to him and turned hims gently back to the sleeping position. Then she went to his right side and held his hand tightly so that if he attempted to turn to the left side, he would be restricted.

She looked at the nurse exasperatedly. She gritted her teeth and thought that tomorrow, she would call the doctor and throw her out of here.

Xie Yuansheng murmured something again, which distracted Feng Xinying. She touched his forehead, which was still warm. As soon as she touched him, he stopped moving and murmuring.

She didn't realize when, but she slept on the bed beside him, her tiredness wearying her out.
