"Contract or no contract, you are not going anywhere without my permission!" said Xie Yuansheng very angry with her.

Feng Xinying didn't say a word and just left the office closing the office door behind her with a loud thud. "Just because I listen to him sometimes, he is trying to control my life. The contract doesn't say anything about my freedom of movement," she thought with disregard and went to her desk. "How dare he even thinks that I will take his permission to go anywhere!"

While she was thinking all that, she got a message from Keira,

Feng Xinying forgot all about Xie Yuansheng and was immediately filled with guilt. Had she left earlier, Keira would have also left early and she wouldn't have got into this situation. She really wanted to go and meet Keira that moment. Moreover, if she had come early, perhaps Xie Yuansheng wouldn't have been in such a bad mood. Why was everything going bad today?

When she reached her cubicle, she called Keira. "Keira, I heard about what happened to you in the morning. I am so sorry that it happened because we left so late. I wish we had left early... How are you doing now? I really want to meet you. Are you free tonight?"

Keira started crying the moment she heard Feng Xinying's voice. "Xinying, I have been shot at. I have no idea why but the two goons tried to kidnap me. Had it not been for Xie Shengjun, I would have been kidnapped or killed. I want to go home to my parents Xinying." Keira started sobbing.

Feng Xinying's heart went out for her friend. "Keira, babes, don't cry. I will come to you as soon as I can, okay?"

"For now, please calm down."

Feng Xinying disconnected the call and looked at her watch. She decided to take half day's leave to be with Keira. So as soon as the lunchtime started, she collected her things and went to the parking area. She took her car and headed for Keira's home. Upon reaching there she found that there were numerous security men on that floor. Xie Shengjun was standing out and talking on phone with someone. He was yelling so loudly that Feng Xinying became scared.

"If you don't get those culprits here by evening, I will make sure to make you all stand in a line and shoot with my rifle!"

He saw Feng Xinying, nodded slightly and continued talking. She went inside the apartment. Keira was in the bedroom and there were two nurses standing for her. Keira's ear was bandaged and as soon as she Feng Xinying, she leapt out of the bed and hugged her as though a baby would hug her mother and started crying again.

"I want to go back home Xinying," she said through her tears. "I am very scared. I want to be with papa and mama."

Feng Xinying patted her and said, "Yes, Keira…"

Once Keira had cried to her heart's content, she settled. She signaled the two nurses out to go out of the room.

Then she continued, "Xinying, Xie Shengjun is begging me not to go but I really miss my parents. He is telling me that I should call my parents here. What do I do Xinying? Whenever I say that I want to go, he starts throwing tantrums. He shouts at everyone in the home. He has employed so many security guards around this apartment that the normal residents are getting scared. He has been pacing since morning in and out of the house and calling his men to find the culprits behind the attack. I am afraid that because of this incident there would be more blood shed. So I think it is best that I leave the country. There would be no reason for blood shed."

As she spoke her last sentence Xie Shengjun entered the room. "I won't let you go anywhere and I have decided that! Keira I am calling your parents here." He said that and went to sit near her. Disregarding the fact that Feng Xinying was in the room, he pulled Keira in his lap and circled her tightly, dipping his face in her neck. "Don't leave me. I am sorry but this will not happen again."

"Shengjun, I don't want you to get into trouble because of me. Moreover I have a job at America. I haven't told anything to my parents… Let me go…"

"No…"

Feng Xinying smiled at the two of them and was reminded of Xie Yuansheng. The two brothers were very protective about their women. Perhaps it was in their genes. She looked at her phone and felt like talking to him. She remembered his morning agitation about her security and thought tenderly that all he wanted was her protection after this fiasco. All she did was to act arrogantly. All of a sudden she had an urge to see him. She realized she didn't even have his photo. She bit her lower lip and looked at the two lovebirds who were now kissing each other. Without saying a word, she came out of the room and closed the door behind her.

She reached office at 4PM and went straight to his office, but he wasn't there.

When Feng Xinying had left his office, Xie Yuansheng was all riled up. He got up to go after her, but a phone from the minster of industries kept him from going. Once the call was over, he had to place several other important calls. By the time he finished with them, one of his secretaries reminded that he had a meeting with the dealers. On his way to the conference room, he noticed that Feng Xinying wasn't there. He wanted to call her but his secretary handed him the papers and he became busy. The dealer's meeting went on late till 6PM. As soon as he came out, Wang Zirong approached him and said, "Xie Yuansheng, remember we have to go to the mall…"

Even though he wanted to see Feng XInying badly, he wanted to know where she was, he was just too arrogant now to call her and ask her. She hadn't contacted him even once. This made him sad.
