Feng Xinying was not convinced that the swimwear project was bleeding money. She had put everything in order before she had left it in the hands on the person directly beneath the CEO, the Vice President of Project and Planning. As soon as she went to the office, she directly went to Xie Yuansheng's office where she retrieved the original project USB that she had given to him when Ru Shishi had erased all the files. She plugged in his computer and looked at the project details. Everything was in place, right from project planning to project execution.

Feng Xinying had to leave midway during project monitoring because of the movie.

Chronological time of the events:

10:30AM – They rushed to the hospital to admit Chang Ling.

11:30AM – Feng Xinying came to the office and looked at all the files associated with it.

12PM – Feng Xinying went to the Planning Department where she called a meeting with the VP and managers to know who were the stakeholders. It was important that she knew who the stakeholders were in order to understand as to whether they were directly affected by the project or not. In the meeting it was revealed that initially only Feng Conglomerate was the only stakeholder and funded the swimwear project, but Lim Chuen thought that it was a great project and so on Chang Ling's recommendation, he requested to put his money in the project. Feng Xinying asked, as to who approved it, and they said that it was directly under Miss Ling's control, so she approved it.

Feng Xinying was baffled.

12:40PM – She called a meeting with the Quality Deliverables team. She asked them what was the problem and why was the project bleeding money. What was wrong with the quality? They told that initially the vendors they had talked to were more than happy to supply the raw material. However, according to the VP Procurement, those vendors were too expensive and they could get the same material at a lesser price by different vendors. Hence the vendors were changed.

The material supplied was poor quality. This affected the overall production to a great extent, and the products that were produced had cheap quality. No retailer was ready to accept them. So even though the products were being manufactured, they weren't being sold. After the advertisement became public, people were still waiting for the product and nothing came. People started losing interest.

1:30PM – Feng Xinying called a meeting with the Project Performance team. She asked them about the effort and the cost of resources ratio. She wanted to know whether the project was within the budget or not. They said that the project's cost was much below the budget. Basically all the costs were met with very nicely but with inferior quality products, there were no orders from the market. In order to maintain an inventory and keep the project going, the budget allocated for the project was used. However, that money was soon over and the entire project went into loss.

Feng Xinying was totally exhausted at this point of time. She went back to Xie Yuansheng's office where she noticed that he hadn't still come. She thought of calling but refrained. Instead she sat on his table and started making notes. Every time she tried to conclude it, she came back to one question.

3PM – Feng Xinying called a meeting with the finance department and asked the human resource people and auditors to join, who were working on this project. The human resource people revealed something that baffled her completely.

"Can you tell me how many people were assigned to the factory of the swimwear project?" she asked them because according to the initial planning the factory had to have around two hundred employees.

"Miss Xinying, we have around hundred people managing the entire setup."

Feng Xinying was shocked. The kind of project it was, anything less than two hundred would have been disastrous. "Why so less?" she asked with a frown.

The human resource VP said, "This is because Miss Chang Ling suggested that we should start on a low scale first and then get more employees. Because of low number of people, each person had more tasks to handle and so some of them left midway because of large number of hours and less salary."

"What do you mean 'start on a low scale'? Is Feng Conglomerate so poor that we have to think twice before starting a project? How could you even agree with her recommendation this much? Do you think this project was a child's toy?" Feng Xinying blasted him.

The VP cringed. "Since you were busy with the film, she said that you shouldn't be disturbed."

Feng Xinying gritted her teeth. She looked at the VP Finance, "What are the financial stats on it now?"

He looked at his papers and said, "Loss of twenty million Yuan."

Feng Xinying was very angry now! "How can it be twenty million Yuan?" She shouted threw the papers in her hands on the table as she looked at him with suspicion filled in her eyes. "Did you even check before presenting this report to me? What kind of a VP are you who relies so heavily on his juniors?" The VP flinched.

Feng Xinying dismissed the meeting and went back to the office to write her notes. So what was the issue? When she finished writing her notes, she reread them and suddenly her eyes became wide with fear and shock.
