After Chang Ling had met with the board members, she was satisfied. Now no one could stop her. She hadn't told what she was doing to her husband Lim De Zhi. In fact she was prepared to divorce him the moment she got the position of the CEO of the company. She hated him ever since he married her. During dinner she had stayed back in the office and had sent an excuse to her husband saying that there was an urgent work in her office.

"You are working a lot these days, Chang Ling. You should rest your body. I know that I accepted the offer that Xie Yuansheng had sent your way to become VP only because he was insistent but that doesn't mean that you forget your health. Come home soon. I am waiting for you, okay?" Said Lim De Zhi with warmth in his voice. He loved her.

Ever since his father had been missing, he had filed a missing report but no one in the family except his sister Lim Fe Yan was interested in finding him. Even his mother was not interested and he knew the reason very well. His father was into a lot of women, a fact he hated a lot. His mother was in a love less marriage and hence she was pained a lot whenever his father cheated on her. Hence he hardly cared when he went missing. This was also a reason why he chose to go for a love marriage.

"Okay, De Zhi, you should stop worrying about me," replied Chang Ling. "I will come back as soon as the report is complete." Saying that she cut the call and thought, "Only one more day and I will be set free."

Her lawyer arrived in the office fifteen minutes later.

"Have you got my papers ready?" She asked eagerly.

"Yes, Miss Chang Ling. But I feel that divorce on basis of incompatibility in your marriage actually won't work. There has to be something more that we have to charge Lim De Zhi with," Said the lawyer.

Chang Ling thought a little and said, "Add domestic abuse."

The lawyer did not ask any questions and smiled. He wrote a small note in the papers. Then he looked up and said, "Tomorrow I will bring revised papers and we will file it tomorrow morning."

"No! File it after I have sent you the text to file them," she replied keeping her hands crossed across her chest. She wanted to give both the news of becoming the CEO of the company and that of divorcing him together.

"Okay Madam," said the lawyer feeling a bit surprised. He left after she saw rest of the papers and approved them.

When the lawyer left, Chang Ling laughed with happiness until she had tears in her eyes. These were some of the best days of her life. She had felt so miserable all this time that she thought this was the payback. After she was reborn as Chang Ling, she had gone to visit her father and her sister, but both of them were doing fine and had lots of money. They had forgotten her. She felt all the more miserable. Now no more.

She went home and could not sleep the entire night out of excitement to attend the next day's meeting at 10am. She got dressed in a pink blouse and black formal pants. She wore a beige jacket over it and had opened her hair. When she reached the office, she was exuding confidence. Chang Ling smiled at every employee thinking that from a few hours later, they would all recognize her as their CEO. The thought was exhilarating. She scoffed inside as to how she was giving Feng Xinying, the worst defeat of her life. She knew that after today she would never be able to recuperate from this trauma. This was the best advantage she could take of Feng Xinying's absence. Chang Ling pressed the button of the elevator to the fifteenth floor where the board meeting had to take place.

It was exactly five minutes to ten when she stepped in the room. She saw that all members were present. Feng Xinying's loyalists had gathered on one side, which constituted not many while all the members she had met over the days were on one side. She smiled looking at them and they also bowed her.

The meeting started exactly at 10am and the secretary Cai Xin read the agenda. Once the agenda was read out, Chang Ling stood up and said, "As I had mentioned in the previous meeting, I am standing here to be the next CEO of the Feng Conglomerate."

The company lawyer was also there. He stood up and said, "I request the company members to vote now."

Just as the voting was about to start, suddenly the doors of the boardroom opened.

Chang Ling looked at the door with an angry face as to who had the audacity to enter the boardroom at this important moment without permission. However, when she looked up, her face became pale. Feng Xinying walked in along with her lawyer. What the hell was she doing here, thought Chang Ling as the blood drained out of her face.

"What voting is going on here and with whose permission?" said Xinying in a loud voice startling all the board members.

All of them stood up in her honor, scared at the scenario. They were assured by Chang Ling that Feng Xinying wouldn't be able to come. But seeing her they became nervous and anxious.

Cai Xin's face split into a wide grin. "Good morning, Miss Xinying," Said Cai Xin.

"Good morning. What board meeting is called without me, the Chairman, being invited?" Asked Feng Xinying in a fierce voice.

Chang Ling looked from Feng Xinying to Cai Xin. She became nervous and could feel sweat in her hands. Before she could speak a word, Feng Xinying looked at Chang Ling and said, "How dare you connive behind my back? How dare you even think of becoming the CEO of Feng Conglomerate?"

Chang Ling's legs became weak.

Feng Xinying looked at her lawyer and nodded. He went forward with a bunch of documents and gave them to all the board members one by one.

Then Feng Xinying said, "Chang Ling, without Xie Yuansheng resigning from the position, you are staking claim? On what basis?"

Chang Ling mustered courage and said, "I have support of several board members."

Feng Xinying sat down in the chair of the Chairperson. She leaned forward and replied, "Support?" Xinying started laughing. "First, It is a breach of trust of the company if you hold board meeting without informing the Chairman. It calls for immediate oust of the member. Second, check the document my lawyer has just given you all."

Everyone started looking at those documents. The documents were about removal of the five board members who had agreed to taking five percent shares of the company.

As soon they read the papers, they looked shocked. They looked at Chang Ling to save them. Chang Ling was reading the papers and she also didn't know what to do. But she shouted at Feng Xinying, "What is this nonsense? How can you remove five members at a go?"

"This is not nonsense but this is end to your nonsense." Replied Feng Xinying as she pointed at those five board members. "All these members will be removed and this is the first voting we will do."
