The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 13 – siblings

Ethan Lu was about to approach Lexi but was stopped by his vibrating phone. Pulling his smartphone, Ethan’s brows raised seeing the caller id of Morris. Glancing at Lexi’s side profile, Ethan Lu gestured at one of the crews then whisper a few words.

The young staff nodded in understanding that made the every dazzling Ethan smile. He taps the youth shoulder before he wordlessly left the premises.

Just as he exited the small restaurant, Ethan Lu answered the incoming call.

“Br –“

“Meet me now. I’ll send you the location.” With that said note, Morris hangs up not giving way to Ethan to respond. Ethan Lu frowned by Morris usual call for help. Even so, he glances back at the restaurant behind him before shaking his head before hitching on his ride.

Lexi lavished her noodles as if she was in a five-star restaurant. Every sip and piece she eats warm her heart and made her a little flush as if it makes her fall for it.

“Is it that good, chu?” Churu innocently inquired seeing Lexi’s expression that she never show to others.

“It is — sad to be you… you can’t have a taste.” Lexi teased audibly. Obviously, her view of Churu improves and now consider her as her only true friend. Hence, Lexi’s attitude and how she treats Churu improve as well.

Churu pouted that made her cute even more. By the way Lexi was in high-spirit just eating a food that doesn’t seem to par on the dishes laid on the Yang mansion’s dining table yet, she was much expressive showing her inkling to the noodles she was eating right now.

If anyone recognizes Lexi, they’ll probably think that she had gone mad and will surely cause a scandal if a video was taken. Fortunately, the general customer are elderly and seems to not care on the entertainment industry as they were more inclined in news about politics and its affairs.

Suddenly, the young crew that Ethan approached serve another plate of dumplings. Lexi grins as her gazes back and forth from the dumplings and the talking white bun in front of her.

“Young Miss, you are young master Lu’s friend from a couple of days ago, right? The owner wants to treat you our special dumpling — on the house.” the young crew bowed before relaying the message from Ethan Lu with great respect.

Lexi’s eyes dilate by the words spouted by the young waiter, yet, she only nodded without thinking too much. Seeing that the dish was accepted, the young man bowed again before he scoots away.

After the youth left, Lexi just stares at the delicately made dumplings in bewilderment. Surely, Ethan Lu must be a friend of the owner and the crew recognizes him because aside from his family status, he seems he was a regular in this place.

Since Lexi was craving for the one of a kind dan dan noodles she ate in that place, she asked their private chef to make just like it. However, despite that the chef did a good job, but, it doesn’t have the same taste by the food this small restaurant was serving. Hence, without too much thought, she went out and ate out instead.

Looking around, Lexi heaves a sigh of relief that Ethan Lu wasn’t around. Thus, she took the waiter’s statement that the owner probably wants to have a good word of the young master of the Lu family.

“Chu?” Churu tilts her head peering at the speechless Lexi.

“I think I lost my mind the day I committed suicide. I am being too careless.” Lexi murmurs; unaware that she spat her words loudly for Churu to hear.

“You are always careless, chu.” Churu corrected her referring to her past deeds before they met.

Hearing the unwelcomed response of Churu, Lexi’s brows arc. “Churu, do you want to join your siblings?” referring to the dumplings that were served.

“You are bad, chu! Bad Lexi, chu!” Churu flew meters away from her while stomping her feet angrily on the air. Lexi can’t help but giggle as Churu was just too cute and teasing her was a helpful stress reliever and a great distraction.

“Kidding,” after Lexi got a hold of her laughter, she stops teasing Churu and ate the dumplings with great delight.
