The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 25 – Sissy, that's how I ask

Despite Churu’s apprehension, Lexi only smiled back at the steaming dumpling that just stood back on the surface of the desk. Slightly shaking her head, Lexi clicks her tongue as she pointed up her index finger and constantly moved it sideways — as if telling Churu that she got it wrong.

“Sissy, that’s how I ask.”

“Chu?” Churu frowned in dismay with what she just heard.

“What a unique way of asking, chu!” She sassed. Though she understood Lexi in many ways especially her emotions, alas, the poor little dumpling wasn’t really well-versed about certain areas such as this and her way of doing stuff.

“Let me explain sissy.” Lexi coaxed the fuming bun as she laid the phone on the flat top of the shiny white desk. She resumed, “though I sounded like I indirectly refused, I left a keyword about what event I am attending. If we are attending the same event, then, he will respond with the answer I was looking for. In this way, I won’t sound thirsty and make me less of a slave by the stupid system. You get what I mean?” Lexi slightly tilted her head while she arched her brows to see if Churu understood what she meant.

“Ohhh~” Churu nodded in awe. She clarified, “So, it means if he was attending to the same event, even if he didn’t ask you to be his date, you’re going anyway — Woah… which means even if he wanted to help you build connections, you will still look like a strong independent woman. Also, Mr. T will be there~” Churu excitedly clapped her little cute hands together as her eyes glitter. She now sees Lexi as a bright woman with class just like what she was regarded before being a crazy fiance.

“That’s hitting two birds in one stone. If you observed Ethan, though he tends to play around with different young misses, he seemed to take interest in capable women who can surprise him in many ways. And I can mingle and befriend with Mr. Tanaka and other business tycoons.” Lexi emphasized in a matter of factly tone.

Indeed, though she seemed to not mind the system, alas, it was already within her and she spent her sleepless nights thinking about what’s the caused of the plus allure points she acquired from Ethan Lu.

Hence, after a lot of thinking, she came to a conclusion of the reason why she gained the allure points. First, she was known to be a prideful woman but she showed her willingness to back down on a battle that she cannot win — referring on how Ethan Lu witnessed her bend her knees towards her ex-fiance; Morris Liu.

The second time is when she unintentionally enjoyed the cheap noodles he introduced that wasn’t served into a fancy restaurant or by professional chefs. In this matter, Lexi was also uncertain on the probable cause of why she gained Ethan Lu’s favor. However, what she was clear about is, Ethan Lu isn’t as what he was known to be.

Though he was a hybrid casanova, alas, to Lexi’s perspective, he was a real player and don’t take it to the heart — reasons how fast he changes his girlfriend like how he changed his clothes.

“Churu is proud! Lexi is amazing!” Churu jumped in joy and as usual, performed her cute funny dance moves that only she can do. On the other hand, Lexi chuckled by the speed of how Churu changed her mood.

Nonetheless, Lexi was prepared for the banquet whether she goes alone or not. But, the uncertainty has soon vanished when the ‘ping’ notification sound vibrated from her phone. Peering at the message on the screen, Lexi and Churu grinned mischievously. It says;

[From: Mr. Ethan Lu

Oh? Well then, since we’re attending the same event, why don’t we go together?]

“Oho, Mr. Initial Task, you should fall in love with my big sister quick!” Churu blurted out after reading the text messaged. After all, aside from Lexi completing her task, it will also benefit Churu in a way she can evolve and be more beautiful; more majestic.

“See?” Lexi smirked in triumph. Her face bears the I-told-you-so expression which Churu instantly accepted without batting an eye.

“I won’t doubt you now, chu~!”

“Good.” Lexi smiled widely as if she was appeased with Churu’s white flags. Yet, she didn’t respond immediately and made Ethan Lu wait for her reply in a few hours.
