The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 101 – Conduct yourself with dignity

Lexi jolted when Churu suddenly stood and pointed her tiny index finger on everyone. Just moments ago, Churu doesn’t have the energy to talk and now, she was calling them names as if she was more affected than her.

“How dare these — chu…” Churu was about to continue her bursting, however, she abruptly wobbled back on Lexi’s open palms as if she was low battery again.

Unaware of Lexi’s strange action, the corner of Che Diayu’s lips curled into a mocking smirk. In her eyes, whatever reason Lexi has, it doesn’t matter as someone like her shouldn’t be there. Glancing at the righteous manager Abigail Fan, Che Diayu let out a faint scoff.

“Manager Abi, I heard that you were dismissed because of misconduct — I must say though, you’re quick to find another racket with sister Lexi.” Surely, Che Diayu had became more confident with her seemingly friendly conversation with Lexi from the murmurs she heard. Even Abigail Fan, she wouldn’t let her off.

Abigail Fan clenched her fist as her jaw tightened by Che Diayu’s statement. Fire out? So, that’s what those higher ups told everyone that she was fire out instead of quitting herself. However, Abigail Fan held back as she knew what this Che Diayu wanted and she could never give that to her.

‘This b*tch… if not for Lexi’s crisis, she wouldn’t get all the resources I had for Lexi.’ Dissing inwardly, Abigail Fan grinded her teeth. If she could only grab Che Diayu’s hair, she would certainly be bald at this moment. However, as professional as her, Abigail Fan only humped to release the fury inside her heart.

“Ohh, it’s you, Diayu.” After worriedly checking Churu and made sure she was fine, Lexi finally raised her gaze to Abigail Fan then to Che Diayu. She also glanced at her two lackeys behind the boastful girl before greeting her. She added,

“I thought it’s a fly buzzing — I didn’t noticed it was you! My god, how are you after that…” Lexi pursed her lips as her brows raised as if she was hesitating to continue whatever she was about to utter. Seeing that Che Diayu’s boastful countenance slightly changed, Lexi smirked inwardly as she resumed,

“After that night?” referring the humiliation Che Diayu had gone through back in the Yue Family banquet, Lexi sounded sorry yet, she’s also not.

Abigail Fan darted her gaze from Lexi’s feigning innocence and Che Diayu who clenched her hand into a fist. She was unaware of whatever Lexi was talking about, however, seeing the glint that flashed across Lexi’s eyes, Abigail Fan instantly knew that Lexi was deliberately scrubbing salt on Che Diayu’s unknown wounds.

“You…” Through her gritted teeth, Che Diayu tried to keep her heart at bay. She had gone through extreme activities to forget the night that she had to display her two facedness in front of everyone present. But, what she found more annoying was Lexi was there to witness how Wren Tanaka disregard her.

“Me? I had a good time to represent my Yang family and fortunately, I didn’t humiliate my family.” Still feigning her ignorance, Lexi flaunted the good times of that event and leaving all the unconventional events afterwards behind. Her voice also showed a little taunting for Che Diayu to know that she wouldn’t back down.

“Huh, you really dare mention that after seducing my man.” Not knowing what to retort, Che Diayu verbally attacked with her twisted lies. Upon hearing her ridiculous response, Lexi looked at her with disdain.

However, as she peered at Che Diayu even more, Lexi’s brows knitted. For her, this scene was familiar — actually, it’s too familiar as what Che Diayu was showing now reminds her of her old self.

Lexi often acted a bully like Che Diayu to Mia Chen in the past. It’s as if it was already became a hobby picking on the poor Mia Chen who did nothing to her. Alas, Lexi still blames her for everything which led her to her karma.

Che Diayu’s words are loud enough to reach the artists who were obviously entertained while listening and watching them. The moment they heard Che Diayu’s accusations, some looked at each other with their lips with an ‘O’ shape. To them, whether it was true or not, Lexi’s scandals are enough proof for them to believe.

“What? She even seduced Che Diayu’s rumored boyfriend, CEO Wren Tanaka?”

“So the rumors are true? She likes sleeping around with different men? No wonder her ex-fiance broke their engagement.”

“I heard that their family had a crisis, probably, she was looking to hug someone’s thigh.”

“Tsk tsk, what a waste of beauty and life.”

As expected, another batch of baseless speculations were thrown at her. However, Lexi only had a blank expression as she fixed her pair of upturned eyes to Che Diayu.

“Ha! That’s right! You don’t know how sister Diayu had gone through because of your greediness to men!” One of Che Diayu’s lackeys bellowed as she glared daggers a Lexi’s inexpressive countenance.

“Not just that, she was purposely doing this because she surely knew that sister Diayu was auditioning for the role!” Che Diayus another lackey chimed in like an airhead person — taking advantage of the fact that no one would even believe Lexi even if she tells the truth. After all, her tainted reputation was worse than a person who doesn’t have any reputation to hold.

“What –” Abigail Fan snapped as she could no longer take this insult. Granting that they disliked Lexi, however, why must they accused Lexi with this nonsense? Sure, Lexi might not be the kindest nor is she the warmest person but Abigail Fan was well-versed on Lexi’s unbending loyalty to Morris Liu. However, just as she was about to defend Lexi, she was interrupted when Lexi shushed.

“Shhh, please everyone, conduct yourself with dignity.” Lexi then turned her gaze towards Abigail Fan and resumed, “Manager Fan, will you hold my precious phone for awhile?”
