The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 116 – Taming hearts

The movie Taming Hearts was a story set in a futuristic fantasy world where advanced technology reigns. Legends, folklore stories, and mythological history of the distant past were nearly forgotten with these drastic changed over tens of decades; and were altered with the recent history of certain individuals that caused the world’s breakthrough.

In this set of times, a faraway village, one girl named Xu Yingyue was one of the rare ones that still enjoyed these fables that were consigned to oblivion. She was known to be a genius girl with exceptional talent and a kind heart.

However, Xu Yingyue was born with no status nor wealth, hence, the opportunity for her was limited. Luckily, her persistence in attempting to study in the City, Xu Yingyue passed and was accepted in the most outstanding University.

Before the day Xu Yingyue, journeyed towards the City, she looked up in the clear bright sky. Raising her hand as if to reach out for it, she uttered.

“Too bad… I could not celebrate the mid-autumn festival here.” Her lips curled into a bittersweet smile just thinking that tomorrow, her life would change thereon.

Just then, the girl creased her brows because for a moment, she saw the clouds moved in an abnormal pace as the harsh wind blew passed her.

She squinted her eyes as she looked at the blinding sun and was astonished by what happened next. Slowly, the sun was blocked by the moon; that dimmed some parts of the earth.

The eclipse formed a huge eye as if it was looking straight at her. It was compelling yet, she felt dreaded at the same time.

She didn’t know why, but Xu Yingyue somehow felt pressured the moment she witnessed it. Shaking her head, she didn’t dwell on it as she turned to go back on her home.

However, the moment she turned, there, she saw a woman lying on the green moist grass. She was dressed with an ancient clothing that this generation had forgotten. If it’s not for her inclination with folklore and the very distant history of their country — Xu Yingyue wouldn’t be in awe.

Taking cautious stride, Xu Yingyue drew closer, curious of the woman and if she was still breathing. Seeing the woman’s beautiful countenance like she was carved out of the painting; Xu Yingyue squatted down and took her pulsed.

However, the moment her fingers touched the woman, a mild electrifying shock run through her veins which caused her to abruptly let go of the unconscious woman’s wrist.

*GASP*

Suddenly, the unknown, beautiful woman gasped for air as her eyes instantly opened. On the other hand, Xu Yingyue jolted and her bum fell on the grass.

The woman before her speedily sat up and checked her body before she heaved a sigh of relief.

“I made it?” She melodiously stated. Sensing the figure near her, the woman raised her gaze and arched her brows. She thoroughly scrutinized the shocked girl which made her brow knitted by her plain white dress.

“Little girl, why are you out here naked?”

“Uh?” Xu Yingyue couldn’t comprehend the beautiful woman’s words.

Out of nowhere, the woman had a piece of clothing on her hand which made Xu Yingyue’s eyes widen in disbelief.

“Here, cover yourself.”

Xu Yingyue was unable to move and accept her generosity with what she witnessed so far. The woman meekly smiled seeing her aghast expression before supporting herself to stand and strode towards the baffled girl.

She gently placed the white, well designed cloak around her shoulder and said, “Little girl, what injustice have you experience to turn into a vulgar at such young age?”

The woman passionately patted Xu Yingyue’s shoulder as if to comfort the girl. She added, “The world itself was always been inequitable… alas, you must treasure your life at the least.”

With that said piece, the woman stood from her position and without a world, she calmly turned around and started taking strides to god knows where.

Before she goes, the woman slightly looked back, “By the way, have you seen Houyi?”

“H – Houyi?”

“It seems you haven’t… but, if you do, please tell him that, I, his wife Chang’e had descended from my palace to see him.” With that said note, Chang’e left while her clothes and silky long, black hair beautifully fluttered in the air; leaving Xu Yingyue utterly dumbfounded.

“CUUUUT!” After that scene, a loud voice resounded. Arnold Shen added through his microphone, “Passed!”

The woman that played as Xu Yingyue grinned in satisfaction as they finished the scene without NG’s. “Phew, I didn’t expect that.”

Everyone behind the camera were unconsciously immersed the moment Lexi came into the scene.

Her different expressions, especially in the last part were so beautiful that they were reeled in as if they wanted to know who was her and her story.

“Haha, great job Rika and Lexi!” Arnold Shen clapped his hands in delight by their impeccable performance.

“Thank you,” Lexi meekly smiled. Glancing at Churu who flew from Rika, that played as Xu Yingyue, Lexi briefly raised her brows.

“Chuuu~!”

To her, Churu had been a great help as all the dialogues she spouted were all thrown at Churu. After all, she was literally naked as she didn’t have any clothes wrapped around her.

“Hehe, alright! Let’s move on to the next scene!” After reviewing the scene, Arnold Shen announced and all the staff did their own duties.

Since Lexi wasn’t included in the next scene, she wordlessly headed to her chair where she will wait for her last turn again. As she made her way, Elliot Gong approached her with a bottled water in his hand.

“You did great,” He calmly complimented while handing the bottled water. Lexi glance at his hand before taking the water.

“Thanks,” She said before resuming on her tracks. Lexi didn’t want to take it but with these people around her, she did.

Elliot Gong jogged and walked beside her, “No problem.”

“Wow, is he hitting on you~?” Churu tilted her head to the side as she scrutinized Elliot Gong’s side profile. Sniffing a familiar presence, Churu added.

“Is Mr. Main task here chu?”

‘Sissy, that can only work once.’ Lexi telepathically responded as she thought that the little dumpling was trying to pull that trick on her again.

When Lexi arrived on her chair where she’ll rest, she turned her attention to Elliot Gong’s gentle and harmless front, “I don’t know what you want from me but, I don’t need your sympathy.”

Since there were only a few people present, Lexi could finally run her mouth. Aside from Morris Liu and now Ethan Lu, Lexi always repelled any man near her safe zone. Hence, she felt uncomfortable around him.

“Uh? I was just congratulating you.” Shrugging his shoulders, Elliot Gong seemed confused by her sudden change of mood.

“Yes, and I said thanks. So, will you keep an arm’s length away from me?”

“Uh huh, stay away from her.” Suddenly, Ethan’s voice was heard from behind Lexi which froze her the very instant.

“Kyaaaah~! Mr. Main task, I missed you!!” Churu immediately screamed her lungs out and hugged Ethan’s face.
