The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 228 – You look hot, I missed you.

Time seemed to stop as Lexi went closer and closer to Gael Zhang’s seat. In their eyes and how she interpreted it, Lexi was going for Gael Zhang for sure. Meanwhile, Elliot Gong and Rika Song seemed they lost their intellect because they could only gape their mouth as their eyes dilated seeing Lexi’s provoking side profile.

‘Nuuu… stop…’ These helpless words were the only words that their distraught, instantly sobered mind could recollect as the doom of their career was nearing every step Lexi took.

On the other hand, Gael Zhang pushed back his chair as a smug grin formed on the side of his lips. Turning his head to Lexi’s incoming figure, part of him was certain that her aim was him. He briefly raised his brows before he lowered them— giving her a knowing stare.

Well, Lexi was too damn hot and alluring not to feel a little honored. After all, if ever she did the dare to him, then, even if it was only a dare, that could also be perceived that she was interested in him. Therefore, in this modern day and age, Gael Zhang wouldn’t mind going a bit further after this with her. Surely, his mind was fast to comprehend and run wild with the aftermath with Lexi.

Just as Lexi was on his side, a light scoffed escaped her red lips before she resumed to take strides— passing him by.

Everyone there was slightly puzzled as Lexi proceeded to take slow strides and passed even the last person at the table. Their gaze followed her and there, a little bit farther from their table was Arnold Shen conversing with the very dashing Ethan Lu.

By the looks of it, Ethan Lu had been there for quite some time and was having a private discussion with Arnold Shen on the side while the other investors we’re having a good time enjoying themselves. Since every one of them were too focused on their fun game, they were unaware of what’s happening in their surroundings— especially the people that were out of their radius.

When Lexi came closer to Arnold Shen and Ethan Lu who were privately discussing something, she looked behind to see everyone from their table intently watch her. Upon seeing this, her smirk widened even more.

“Director Shen, Young Master Lu, ” As she modestly approached the two, her words immediately caught their attention as they turned their heads to her direction.

Ethan Lu’s eyes narrowed seeing that his beloved girlfriend had her cheeks slightly flushed. Still, since she could walk straight with her four inches heels, he only sighed without a word.

“Miss Yang! Hehe, I see you guys were having fun there.” As usual, Arnold Shen was as lively as ever as he greeted Lexi.

“We are, I almost didn’t notice Young Master Lu.” For a second, Lexi’s brows raised as she shot Arnold Shen a knowing look before she shifted them to the frowning Ethan Lu.

Lexi offered her hands to him that made Ethan Lu furrowed his brows by her sudden gesture. “Young Master Lu, it’s nice seeing you here. Too bad, you didn’t get to watch the film earlier.”

Meekly smiling and was unappeased by something, Ethan Lu graciously accepted her formal handshake. “Too bad, indeed. But, I managed to keep updated online.” With that said remark, Ethan Lu glanced at the people at the table she was mingling with and his cold eyes directly landed on his dear precious friend Elliot Gong.

This brief stare somehow made Elliot Gong swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he felt the dangers in his gaze. ‘What did I do this time?!’ He thought inwardly.

Just as he heaved a sigh of relief as Lexi’s slyness nearly gave him a heart attack for a moment. Yet, now, Ethan Lu seemed he was about to kill him. Well, although it seemed like a normal, accidental glance to others— Elliot Gong had been friends with him! Hence, he understood that simple gaze that was actually a fiery glare in disguise.

“Anyway…” Slyly smiling, Lexi tightened her grip on his hand as she took a step forward. Leaning a bit closer to his side, she whispered. “You look hot— I missed you.”

Those six simple words that were delivered in the most seductive tone, Ethan Lu’s face gradually turned pink as his soldier down there woke up from his slumber. His throat suddenly turned dry as if he was thirsty… thirsty for her. Surely, Ethan Lu’s perverted self was turned on and was tempted to drag her away from this place so they could have some babe time.

‘This woman… is she testing my sanity again?’ Ethan thought inwardly.

“Careful, my demons might manifest on my hands and go somewhere else.” Whispering back, Ethan Lu didn’t mind to flirt back as his lover was truly stunning with the dress he personally picked for her.

As everyone saw Ethan Lu’s reaction and whispering back that made Lexi giggle, a wide grin formed on their lips excluding the gloomy Elliot Gong and irked Gael Zhang. Around the table, one after another spouted their comments.

“Hehe, Miss Yang is indeed audacious. Who would have thought she would really do it— to Young Master Lu at that.”

“Hehe, wait, I smell something between Miss Yang and Young Master Lu. After all, he asked for a cameo and became her white rabbit.”

“We can’t blame Miss Yang, she’s really pretty after all— No offense, Miss Rika.”

It went on and on until Lexi came back to the table and left Ethan Lu and Arnold Shen to interact with the other important personality. Normally, everyone would share the same table. Alas, the people Arnold Shen was connected with were all decent and don’t approve of some malicious acts. Therefore, to prevent some ambiguous articles, he decided to have a separate table and let the stars to their own devices to have fun.

When Lexi sat in her original seat beside Rika, she winked at her friend as she was evidently displeased for making her worry.

“Why didn’t you tell me Mr. Darcy is here?” Rika grumbled through a whisper that only Lexi could hear.

“Sorry, I didn’t know either— just the radar of the girlfriend when I accepted the dare.”

“Hey, what’s up with that guy glaring at me like that?” Just as Lexi could sit on her chair, Elliot Gong stood from his seat and sprinted behind Lexi’s chair to complain and ask for her magical protection from his omen.

“You think too much, Eli.” Lexi chuckled as she didn’t notice Ethan Lu’s dubious gaze to Elliot Gong earlier.

Meanwhile, Gael Zhang remained quiet as he felt humiliated despite people not mentioning it. He felt humiliated for himself as Lexi purposely made him believe that her target was him. Still, he managed to keep his cool and pretend to enjoy the night with them. The game truth or dare also ended after Lexi and they only enjoyed their drinks after that.

One after another, each bid their farewell. Lexi shared a few tight hugs with Rika before Elliot Gong was forced to drag her away to send her to the vehicle that was waiting for her. Lexi and Ethan Lu separated their ways and silently agreed to meet in his car.

Although no words were exchanged between them, it was as if an automatic instinct after their gaze briefly met. Also, Lexi had to stay for a while with Rika earlier, therefore, she went out a little late.

Just as Lexi was on her way to the parking lot, Gael Zhang was leaning on the wall in the corridor. Seeing his slightly drunken state, Lexi slowed down as she looked around and saw no one.

Still, despite the sudden restlessness inside her heart, Lexi decided to move forward. In her mind, she just needed to ignore Gael Zhang and if he tried something funny, he would feel her wrath. After all, although she swore to keep her cool, she would snap if he tried to harass her. She would have to introduce him to the old Lexi Yang and why she faced numerous lawsuits before.

When Lexi was about three steps from Gael Zhang, he turned his lowered head to her direction before he scoffed and blocked her way.

“Lexi Yang…” Gael Zhang muttered as he raised his gaze to meet her sharp ones. “You purposely tried to humiliate me, didn’t you?”

“Excuse me? I don’t remember humiliating you, Mr. Zhang.” Arching her brows, Lexi’s tone wasn’t as friendly as before as she found nothing to be friendly about before this man.

“Oy! Get out of the way before I make you!” Annoyed, Churu sensed the dark aura emanating from him as she flew in front of Lexi and her stance was as if she was protecting her.

‘Sissy, out of my way. I will let him know the Lexi Yang he never met.’ Without glancing at Churu, Lexi’s pair of nut-brown eyes spiked directly at Gael Zhang with a poker face.
