The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 266 – I can predict the future

Lexi smiled as she carefully traveled her gaze onto his dashing facial features despite his cute pouting. Along with every move of her eyes, the side of her lips also curled upward.

“You always say you’re jealous but you act otherwise.” She teased which made his frown grow gloomier.

“I’m just jealous but not afraid that he could snatch you from me— you’ve fallen head over heels for me you said.”

“Huh? When did I say that?” Arching her brow, Lexi slightly tilted her head to the side as she recalled all their conversations in the past three months in a fraction of seconds. Alas, she could not remember saying that to him not even once.

“In the future, hehe. Perhaps, later or tomorrow? You don’t know.” From frowning to grinning mischievously, Ethan Lu humored. “Also, you don’t have to say it— I know it in my heart because I can predict the future.” He added shamelessly which made her chuckle while shaking her head.

“Oh, love…” In between her soft chuckles, Lexi uttered casually. “How can I believe your readings if they are not even accurate— hmm?” With that said note, Lexi slightly leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his thin red lips. She added, “I love you.”

“I am just being humble, I know you’re one of my many fans.” It only took one kiss from her to wash away his concealed exhaustion. Not to mention, being with her in a day was more than a treat to Ethan Lu. After all, Lexi and Ethan Lu had been pretty busy since her school started. Also, the very same day she went to school, his grandfather, Edward Lu announced his retirement, placing Ethan Lu as the new head of the family because of the progress he had made in the Lu Corporation in a short amount of time that he had participated in the company affairs.

Therefore, Ethan Lu’s workloads tripled in an instant. Not to mention, all the opposing individuals for declaring him as the new family head, because for them, his accomplishments were not enough of a basis to whether or not if he’s a capable leader or not.

“Love, are you going to attend to my night?” Referring to his official take over in the whole Lu Corporation, Ethan Lu inquired after they exchanged short kisses to each other while staying in the same intimate position.

“Why? You don’t want me to?”

“I do but it’s also the same day of your product showcase.” In a matter of fact tone, Ethan Lu reminded her about her last showcase of the products she worked hard on— sacrificing several nights of sleep and hustling in the day.

In simple terms, her schedule was just as packed as his— Lexi’s workload as well as her managing to attend classes, imply the skills she learned, keeping an eye on this renovation progress, and helping in the agency Abigail Fan and Lexi started.

“It’s an important day for you— I can’t miss it.” Shaking her head, Lexi adamantly affirmed as she already freed her schedule after their last product showcase. Moreover, the time limit of her last project would only make her a little late by several minutes.

“Hehe, won’t that break the hearts of your EliXi fans if they saw us together? I might kiss you in the middle of my speech hehe.” Humoring her, Ethan Lu grinned from ear to ear as he hasn’t moved on with all her fans trying to place her with his dearest friend Elliot Gong.

Or should he say all his enemies because, despite his busy schedule, Ethan Lu would occasionally log in to his dummy account and vent his stress by trying to wreck the EliXi ship by being a keyboard warrior! God knows his pettiness level reached its peak. Fortunately, he kept it as his secret and swore to keep it to the grave.

Also, his antics on his Weibo account were still going on— keeping his mystery girl a mystery. Although Ethan Lu had the strong urge to announce it to the world that Lexi was his, for some reason, when they became officially together, he became selfish as he wanted their memories together all to himself. Besides, the thrill of keeping all the fans that were asking him the identity of his girlfriend was elevating in one way or another.

“Huh? Then, should I break yours and mine instead?” Fluttering her curled lashes at a slow pace, Lexi smirked as she watched his blinding smile that could be on par with the brightness of the sun. The only difference between the two was that she was willing to look at his smile even if it blinds her… indeed, Ethan Lu’s prediction was inaccurate as she had fallen head over heels with him in just a short time.

“My bab—” Just as Ethan Lu attempted to kiss her lips because of her oh-so-flattering remarks, a light series of knocks interrupted him before Lyrick Jiang intruded uninvited. The moment Lyrick Jiang caught the two wrapped around each other as if there was limited space in this rather capacious office, he coughed and looked away.

The instant Lyrick Jiang saw them, Lexi pushed Ethan Lu away and broke free from his embrace. Of course, the person who was irked by the sudden intrusion was Ethan Lu as he ground his teeth and strangled his assistant inside his mind.

‘Just when we’re about to get to the good part, this guy just had to walk in!’ He grumbled inwardly as Ethan Lu had the idea of baptizing this newly-built office by making a baby in Lexi’s office! However, the mood shattered because of this Lyrick Jiang.

“Are you here just to quench your gossip fantasy? Speak.” Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Ethan Lu blankly muttered with a deadly poker face that only Lyrick Jiang could understand the real meaning behind. Lexi mildly elbowed him as Ethan Lu was once again intimidating his poor assistant. Hence, she looked at him while widening her eyes as if telling him to behave.

‘Urgh! My job is not easy as well!’ Protesting inwardly, Lyrick Jiang wanted to show how tough his job was and that is wasn’t any better than Nico Zhuang’s who was forced to attend all of the lady’s classes just to monitor their future lady boss.

“I’m sorry for interrupting your time together, Master and Madam but I received the news that…” Lyrick Jiang recomposed himself as he brought himself to look at his boss’s pair of emotionless eyes before he continued. “Mr. Liu regained consciousness.”

The room fell into complete silence after Lyrick Jiang’s news dropped like a bomb.
