All of his overthinking… all of the scenarios in his mind and vivid emotions just thinking that Lexi might not come slowly dissipated in the inbound breeze of the function hall. His still trembling hands slowly slid down and intertwined with her slender hand.

Did you really think I’d cower in fear and leave you alone?” Sharing the same tender gaze, a subtle smile formed on the corner of her lips. “I am disappointed that you have that little faith in me…and to us.” Although she was a little disappointed, Lexi’s bottomless love towards him triumphed at the moment. Well, she could not really blame him and his fears. After all, having just a glimpse of the Lu Family, Lexi would be lying if she said she was not afraid even just a tiny bit. But, with him, with the trust they built and the love they had shared within these fleeting months, she believed that they could overcome anything.

He had no words to say as he was overwhelmed with her existence and being blessed to be a part of her beautiful life.

Seeing this, Lexi could not help but slightly bit her lower lip to restrain her urging laughter. Truly, he was sometimes a softie for being teary-eyed at this situation. She was moved that Ethan Lu, his sincerity and love never once changed through the course of these short months.

“I love you, Ethan Lu.” out of nowhere, these words escaped her mouth as her heart dictated her mouth to utter these sweet and never getting dull words. Granted that they only shared a few months of togetherness, alas, Lexi experienced almost everything with him. Be it overflowing love, steamy lovemaking, their short trips together, and heartwarming meals… she had never been this content and happy.

It was as if her time together with him could never be compared to the rest of her twenty-three and a half years of her existence.

Of course, the person near the two named Elliot Gong could not help but roll his eyes by hearing every loving word they exchanged. Being reminded of a certain someone, Elliot Gong sneakily took a photo of them together and sent it to Rika Song, saying:

He then glanced at the two again and for some reason, he sighed. In his eyes, he never once saw his friend Ethan Lu or Lexi be this happy. Even back when Lexi was still with Morris Liu, he never saw her smile like how Ethan Lu makes her smile.

‘What an unexpected turn of events…’ He murmured inwardly because no one would have thought that Lexi and Ethan Lu would really click.
