The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 332 – Proposal Arrangement

Since it was already late, Lexi and Ethan Lu decided to let Louis Lu and Evelyn Lu stay for the night. Fortunately, Evelyn Lu behaved herself and listened to Lexi to go and rest. Moreover, she knew that her cousin and her idol turned cousin-in-law were tired. Therefore, without causing a ruckus, she bid her goodnight and stayed in the guestroom after Lexi lent her clothes.

On the other hand, Louis Lu remained indifferent and insincerely thanked the two for being kind. He only made sure that Ethan Lu booked them a flight tomorrow before nighttime as he still had some arrangements in the morning. After that, everyone headed to return to their respective rooms.

At that time, Lexi had already freshened up and was in her comfortable pajama outfit while Ethan Lu was still in his tux. Looking at her lying comfortably on the bed while Lexi was just staring in his direction, he let out another heavy sigh.

“Our shower time together… *sigh*” His dilemma made Lexi chuckle before she watched him drag his feet towards the bathroom. He kept the bathroom door slightly opened which made Lexi let out another brief chuckle.

She wanted to tell him about the pregnancy tonight. She actually planned to say it earlier but it was interrupted by the sudden arrival of his cousins. Therefore, Lexi waited for him to finish so she could properly say those words to him in private.

Selfish as it may sound but she wanted to see his reaction all for herself. She didn’t want to say it with other people around as she wanted only for the two of them to enjoy the moment of the fruit of their love. However, just as she patiently waited for him, Lexi unconsciously dozed off as her exhausted body and mind finally took over.

When Ethan Lu was done showering, he returned to the soundlessly sleeping Lexi. With a gentle smile on the side of his lips, Ethan Lu closed the bathroom door behind him and took feather-like steps towards the bed.

Carefully, he slid under the blanket and laid on her side. Ethan Lu just stared at her with loving eyes as he stroked her head as she fell asleep as if she was staring at the bathroom door. Hence, with that position, she was looking to the opposite side of his side of the bed. Regardless, even if he was just looking at the back of her head, his loving eyes were kept intact.

“Thank you,” Softly thanking her, Ethan Lu felt that no amount of thanks was enough for what she had done for him today. He could not help but admire her courage and the love he was receiving from her.

Lexi not only had a morning showcase that day, but she also had to deal with his grandfather who has his odd ways of explaining things that harshly slapped her about the reality of the “glorious” Lu family. Not to mention, all of the events that occurred during his official take over of the Lu Corporation, it was surely a long day for her. Still, what amazed him the most was that the woman he was just pursuing months ago and hoping for her to love him back, she was now giving her all to him… solely to him.

Therefore, how could a mere “thank you” suffice?

Ethan Lu lovingly stroked her head a bit more before he sprawled his arm to reach the bedside table where he placed his phone along with Lexi’s. Speed dialing Lyrick Jiang without any regard of the time, he placed the phone in front of his ear.

This time, the phone rang three times before it was picked up, indicating that Lyrick Jiang was probably asleep when he called as to the reason why the ringing reached three times, which was more than usual.

“Master, good morning.” Still sounding half asleep, Lyrick Jiang greeted as he glanced at the time and saw it was nearly three in the morning.

“Lyrick, the arrangement I had planned…”

“The proposal arrangement?” Since Lyrick Jiang was still not clear-headed, he asked for clarification as he didn’t want to mistake what his master was talking about.

“Yes, I will do it tomorrow before sunset. Move all my important meetings in the morning and clear my schedule for a week.”

“Noted, master.” With that said note, Ethan Lu cut the line short and put the phone back on the bedside table. He had been personally preparing for this proposal plan more than he prepared for his official take over as he let Lyrick Jiang make all of the arrangements for his event earlier.

Turning to look at the sleeping Lexi’s side, a subtle smile formed on the corner of his lips. He had been waiting to take a full control in the Lu family and make the Lu Corporation rise to the top to lessen the competition which he had done all throughout this restless half a year. Now that he finally achieved his phase one before getting married, who would have thought that phase two and the final phase would come tonight? For Lexi to give him the green light about thinking about him 24/7.

Therefore, he didn’t want to waste a day as he was eager to propose to her which he would do later in the evening. Actually, he was more anxious that he would mess up his proposal than Lexi saying a ‘yes’. After all, he wanted to make it a memorable experience for both of them. Well, for him, receiving her sweet “yes” was already memorable but, he wanted her to remember it as a beautiful moment.

“Good night, my love.” Soon, he laid down and hugged her from behind, sniffing her natural sweet odor that made his heart flutter in contentment. He placed a soft peck on her head before he prepared to sleep. Just thinking of his big event that day, a large grin formed on his lips. Little did he know that he wouldn’t be the only one with a surprise as Lexi has a bigger surprise for him as well.
