The Rise of the White Lotus Chapter 374 – Babies are coming!

Several months later, Lexi’s due date was near and at any time she would give birth. Her wedding with Ethan Lu was also postponed because out of nowhere, Lexi wanted their children to be able to witness their wedding. Hence, after her adamant pestering, the plans for the wedding was postponed.

And then, two months ago, since her due date was nearing, Lexi and Ethan Lu decided to stay at the Yang Manor for a while so someone could keep watch on Lexi’s health because Ethan Lu could not be with her as he has to tend to things with his work.

Currently, the yang family were in the living area of their place and were just spending their peaceful afternoon showing off the stuff of their baby purchases.

“Dear, look at this princess dress~!” As cheerful as she may sound, Lillian Yang

“Hehe! My little guy will look great in this hulk costume!” Aside from the gleeful Lillian Yang, Frederick Yang competed as he seemed he was about to finish collecting all of the superhero costumes.

Watching these typical scenarios whenever her father wasn’t in the office and would just spend the day with them, Lexi’s heart was filled with contentment.

Months back, Lexi had a baby shower. It was just a simple dinner and slicing of the cake to reveal the babies’ gender. Moreover, there were only a select few that attended the simple dinner as Ethan Lu didn’t want Lexi to exhaust herself.

Hence, at that time, it was revealed that the gender of the babies were a boy and a girl. God knows that aside from Lexi and Ethan Lu, the happiest was the Yang parents and Edward Lu. Now, all their secret purchases of their respective genders of the babies, would all be used as they were not just having one baby but one girl and a baby boy!

Just then, the tranquility of the Yang’s mansion was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. Snapping from their Lala land, Lillian Yang put down the baby girl’s dress as she hurried to the main door as if they were expecting a guest.

“I’ll get it— it’s probably him~!”

Lexi and Frederick Yang just stared at each other shooting a knowing look to each other. One would understand their reaction because, after a while, Lillian Yang came back as she was heartily laughing beside Edward Lu!

“Oh, old master, you didn’t have to bring that much.” As Lillian Yang and Edward Lu headed to the living area, Lexi and Frederick Yang stood up and slightly bowed their heads as a welcoming greeting.

When Lexi raised her head, the corner of her brows twitched upon seeing their other maids carrying boxes of stuff that she wasn’t sure what its contents were this time. After all, through these last few months of her pregnancy journey, Edward Lu would constantly visit her while carrying loads of different varieties of fresh foods, sometimes, toys and many others depending on his mood.

Therefore, whenever he comes over, all of the boxes he brought were like a mystery box. Well, although Lexi often tells him that he didn’t have to buy too much— Edward Lu kept on insisting. Which was the reason why Lexi conceded in defeat and could only accept all his presents.

Still, she could not control her under-eye whenever she lays her eyes on the ‘mystery boxes’.

“Old Master! How’s your trip?” Welcoming Edward Lu, Frederick Yang took a step forward as he welcomed the old man.

“Hehe, I had a good time. How I wished I could have traveled more when I was in my prime years!” Bright and as always healthy-looking, Edward Lu began to run his mouth again which delighted the Yang parents.

Lexi only greeted the old master and listened to their usual conversation. In her mind, never in her wildest dreams could she imagine that Edward Lu would grow close to her parents. However, who would have thought that Frederick Yang and Edward Lu had some similarities and bond well because of the hobby and other matters that interest the two of them. Not to mention, Lillian Yang’s tea seemed to capture this old tyrant’s heart which made it easier for them to get along.

‘Ahh… I hope every day is like this.’ Lexi whispered internally as the scene before her brought extreme peace in her heart. She could not ask for more as she has this loving guidance from her parents and Edward Lu. She also was engaged and would soon marry the man who dominated her heart.

This alone made her feel that what she has right now was like a dream; a fantasy that she never knew was possible in real life.

As Lexi watched her parents boast the dress and costume her parents brought to Edward Lu as if making him the judge of this seemingly innocent contest that Lillian Yang and Frederick Yang secretly have, Lexi felt a kick on her stomach.

“Oh!” Her light, surprised squeal instantly caught the attention of the three expecting grandparents.

“Dear, what’s wrong?” Worried, Lillian Yang immediately rushed to Lexi’s side.

“Nothi— aw!” Involuntarily, Lexi’s palms were placed on her big bump as if she felt a harsh turmoil happening inside her. Once again, another contraction happened which made her scream a little louder.

“Mom— ouch!” Holding on Lillian Yang’s arms, Lexi’s grip tightened as she never felt this extreme pain in her twenty-five years of existence.

“Oh my god! The babies are coming?!?” Panicking, Lillian Yang’s announcement shook the two old men that left them momentarily standing rooted on the tiled floor.

“In the graph, the global market…” Ethan Lu solemnly listened to the presenter standing beside the projector images.

Everyone’s attention was on the presenter and the project he was presenting. No one dared interrupt him as he explained the vital points of the said project. Suddenly, Lyrick Jiang approached Ethan Lu from behind and leaned over to his ear.

“Master, Old master was calling.” Lyrick Jiang whispered.

Knitting his brows together, Ethan Lu languidly raised his hand for the presenter to pause for a while which was executed immediately.

Just as Ethan Lu was about to call his grandfather’s back, the phone rang again that he answered just before the first ring ends.

“Gran—”

“Hey, brat! Where are you?! How irresponsible! My great-grandchildren are coming!” Without waiting for Ethan Lu to say what he was about to say, Edward Lu’s agitated voice deafened him.

Upon hearing his grandfather’s remarks, Ethan Lu unintentionally slammed his palms against the surface of the long conference table which made everyone flinched by the noise that bounced around the room and then turned their heads to his direction.

“What?!?”

“Don’t what me! My assistant sent you the address of the hospital! This brat! How can you work at a time like this?!” Humphing in fury, Edward Lu yapped as if he wasn’t also responsible for why Ethan Lu was busy for being their family head. Regardless, it seemed that Edward Lu already washed his hands clean and nagged as if Ethan Lu was a heartless workaholic.
