Chapter 518

Lexi’s email didn’t have any other message aside from the attached files in it . Hence, without a second delay, Ethan Lu rang up Lexi’s personal phone which was answered almost immediately .

“Love, why am I kissing another woman?!” Furious, Ethan Lu asked . For a second, Lexi’s brows twitched .

Why was he asking that if she should be the one who should be asking?

“Ah no, no, no . It’s not me but why does he look like me?” Ethan Lu shook his head because for a moment, he felt that Churu manifested to him .

Surely, Churu’s personality was too strong that it corrupted him unknowingly . Regardless, Ethan Lu’s dismay on the damn video for using his face was enough for him to throw a huge fit .

“I don’t know but it was sent to me as blackmail — I’m waiting for that person to call again . ” Ethan Lu heard a disconsolate sigh from the other end of the line after her reply .

“Who?” He asked, knitting his brows while his lips curled downward .

“No idea . Love, I don’t feel good about this . ” Lexi let out another heavy sigh once again .

If she received this before that airplane crash, Lexi would have had thousands of emotions if she saw the video . However, after everything that happened, Lexi learned to pause first until she could think straight .

“Hmm?” Upon hearing Lexi’s worried words, Ethan Lu drew his phone away and briefly looked at it before placing the phone back to his ear . “You’re not mad?” He asked .

Although Ethan Lu’s first two questions were quite ridiculous, still, he instantly realized the heaviness of the situation . After all, Lexi was an emotional person and things like this, it would be impossible if she wasn’t affected by it .

“Why would I?” Rolling her eyes, Lexi clicked her tongue . “You won’t cheat on me . ” A statement full of confidence, Lexi responded as she pursed her lips .

“Eh??” Ethan Lu blushed, as he brightly smiled as if there was no problem at the moment . “Why so?” Suppressing his giggle, Ethan Lu rested his cheek by his palm, waiting for Lexi’s sincere love confession .

Aya~! How nice would it be if he also had that love system; he would definitely love to hear the ringing bells notifying him his love points .

“Love, this is not the time to flirt . ” Lexi rolled her eyes as she could imagine how he must have looked like just by hearing his tone . Thus, although she was worried, her anxious heart relaxed a little .

“Come on, love . Tell me, hehe~” Still carrying the same bright smile, Ethan Lu urged .

“Well, because you’re simple . ” Conceding in defeat, Lexi raised her brows as she played with her pen with her fingers .

“Ha?” Baffled at the connection, Ethan Lu frowned . Was she teasing him? He was so sure that she would say all kinds of cheesy lines she learned from him .

“You already have many headaches and having a mistress will only add to all the problems . ” Lexi chuckled . She figured that he must be disappointed with her answer but actually, she didn’t really give a thought about those why’s and why not’s .

Her heart just knew that his eyes and heart only belongs to her and their twins . Just like hers, most of the space in her heart was being occupied by her small family .

“Also, you can’t fight me in court . ” This time, Lexi humored that was followed by an evil laugh .

When Ethan Lu heard her last remark, he cringed . Well, that was true though — he couldn’t win against her, not just in court but in everything .

“*sigh* here I thought, I will be blessed by a heartwarming word . ” He sighed, yet, his lips curled into a subtle smile . “Love, I’ll deal with him, don’t worry . ” Going back to the main concern, Ethan Lu reassured her .

However, Lexi shook her head sideways even though he wasn’t seeing her . “I’ll stall him . I swear, I won’t place my life in any danger . Just leave him to me, alright?” She offered with confidence .

Lexi knew that even with Churu’s help, Ethan Lu had a lot of things going on . Hence, he has to look ahead and continue to move forward while she covered his back .

“Love . . . ” Perhaps, deep down, Ethan Lu had already guessed that she would say this . Yet, he still felt concerned . “Alright, just be careful okay? Don’t meet him, and tell me if you feel uncomfortable . ” In the end, Ethan Lu still agreed as he wanted to fully trust her capabilities and her growth .

“Yes, I promise . ” Glad that he understood her heart, Lexi subtly smiled before they exchange ‘I love you’s’ and ended the line without any misunderstanding .

Just as Ethan Lu put down his phone, he heard Churu’s voice rang inside his head . “Actually, listening to how he boosted his ego is more tiring than watching you all day . “

“Have you heard anything interesting?” Replying telepathically, Ethan Lu slowly rose from his seat and began taking strides outside .

“What kind of interesting are you referring by the way? So far, aside from his hateful remarks to Engr . Choi for meddling too much on the materials for the construction of your branch, and cursing you for your audacity — nothing much . ” Bored as hell, the black widow Churu lazily reported while staring at Dennis Lu and then shifted it to the other directors around the table .

Based on what she heard, Engr . Choi was hired by Ethan Lu, recommended by Lexi as he was the one who renovated Beauty DR’s headquarters . Obviously, since he owed the couples a lot, he does his best to contract great raw materials at a lower price .

So, it wasn’t a surprise that Dennis Lu’s corruption was affected as he could not have a kickback . Regardless, Churu couldn’t sense or even smell Dennis Lu’s rotten scent . If anything, he just smelled corrupt but not to the extent that he had killed a person .

‘Will he kill me?’ Ethan Lu solemnly asked . When he passed by Lyrick Jiang’s post, he slightly raised his hand and gestured Lyrick Jiang not to follow him .

“Yes, he will kill you by his shamelessness!” Well, Churu was already displeased on how hypocrite Dennis Lu just by listening to them for several minutes now . Hence, even though it was unintentional, Dennis Lu could kill her or Churu would silence him herself .
