Chapter 544

“Mhmm… alright, see you later . I love you too . ” Ethan Lu heard the beeping sound from his phone, indicating that the call ended . Turning his head to the door of the private ward, he saw Chris Yu’s figure exiting the room before he closed the door behind him .

“How was he?” Ethan Lu inquired, as he placed back his phone inside his pocket .

“They were just checking up on him, but he’s fine . ” Nodding his head, a relief sigh escaped from his mouth . Morris Liu just regained consciousness earlier, exactly the time when Ethan Lu arrived at the hospital .

“I see…” Relieved by the news, Ethan Lu glanced at the slowly opening door . The doctor and a few staffs came out right after . Upon laying their eyes on Ethan Lu, they slightly bowed their heads as a greeting .

Ethan Lu returned the same courteous gesture before the attending physician discussed Morris Liu’s current condition . Ethan Lu didn’t pay much attention to the details as he trusted that Chris Yu wouldn’t let Morris Liu down .

As for Ethan Lu, he was just there to visit a friend . He hadn’t completely forgotten what happened back in Mr . Tang’s event and he would never be . The reason he was there was because his soft spots for the guy triumphed .

It annoyed him, but well, considering the experiences they shared, their brotherhood was undoubtedly strong . Also, although Ethan Lu wanted to push all the blame to Morris Liu, he couldn’t . After all, Lexi was also at fault too .

Ethan Lu glanced at the retreating medical staff after they left some notes to Chris Yu . Although he didn’t pay much attention to their discussion, Ethan Lu still got the gist that Morris Liu was fine to receive visitors .

“I’ll go say hi,” He gestured at Chris Yu .

“I’ll settle something in the register . Don’t stress him too much . ” Chris Yu nodded his head as he reminded Ethan Lu to be cautious of what he would say before he left .

“Jeez,” Ethan Lu watched Chris Yu’s departing back, a faint chuckle escaped from his lips .

He was grateful that Chris Yu really looked after Morris Liu . Although Chris Yu was the last person who got into their original circle, he stayed at Morris Liu’s side through and through .

Unlike Elliot Gong, Kevin Woo, and him, Chris Yu remained solid with Morris Liu . That’s probably the reason Ethan Lu wasn’t that worried about Morris — he has Chris .

Shaking his head sideways, Ethan Lu slowly slid the door open . Stretching his lips a little wider, he thrusted his chin up as a greeting to Morris Liu .

Morris Liu nodded his head once as he blinked his heavy eyes . He still felt how drain his body was but since he has a visitor, he thought he should accompany him for a while .

“Hey,” Stopping on the side of the bed, Ethan Lu traveled his gaze on Morris Liu’s pale countenance . “You’ve been visiting hospitals rather often . ” He humored thinking of the time Morris Liu was in a coma .

A faint chuckle slipped out from Morris Liu’s lips . It was still a surprise for him to have a mild cardiac arrest .

However, a person’s life was unpredictable . Who knows when a person’s life would end .

Morris Liu was just glad that he could live another day . Although it makes little sense but, he really thought the reason he has such a turn in his health was because of all the fright he had last night .

“Maan…” Dragging the chair not far away from him, Ethan Lu placed it on the side of the bed and plopped down on it . “If you don’t take care of your health this time, Chris will surely nag you . ” Ethan Lu teased which made the two of them chuckle at the humor .

Just then, Ethan Lu noticed that there was something in his pocket . Looking down, his eyes shook . He nearly forgot that he has a dumpling on his pocket, and she seemed she was suffocating .

Since Churu has been quiet the whole day, Ethan Lu almost forgot her existence . Hence, feeling bad about forgetting her, Ethan Lu pretended to fish something from his pocket so Morris Liu wouldn’t think he was acting weird for fishing out something that Morris Liu couldn’t see .

“Nice key chain . ” Hoarse and weak, Morris Liu complimented as he noticed that Ethan Lu has a huge key chain clinging in this pocket . It was quite new to him to see Ethan Lu carry around something life that . Thus, he has to take notice .

However, in contrast of how Morris Liu imagined him returning the humor, Ethan Lu paused . Slowly, in a robotic pace, turned his attention to Morris Liu .

“Y — you — what did you say?” Ethan Lu stuttered as he blinked his eyes many times . “Keychain? This? You can see it?” Aghast, Ethan Lu carefully scrutinized Morris Liu and saw him darted his eyes from him to Churu .

Because of his parched throat, Morris Liu just blinked his eyes as he was puzzled by Ethan Lu’s reaction . Of course he could see it . How would he even notice it if he couldn’t?

Yet, although Morris Liu wanted to answer, he didn’t and just gave him a knowing look .

“Does it look like a dumpling?” Ethan Lu asked, his gaze waited for him to answer which he did by nodding after a beat .

“No way…” Under his breath, Ethan Lu’s mind went blank for a second . How could that be? How could Morris Liu see Churu?

Lexi seeing Churu was already understandable . Although it was never been officially explained, the three of them assumed the reason Lexi could still see Churu was because she’s Churu’s former host . However, what about Morris Liu? How could he see her?

Just then, Churu slowly opened her eyes after her long nap . Feeling recharged, she yawned and flew away from Ethan Lu’s hands . Little did she know, a set of two eyes followed her small floating figure; Ethan Lu in utter shock while Morris Liu’s front remained just how it was .

“That was a nice nap chu~” She muttered as she stretched her hands up . Upon hearing her talk, Morris Liu’s heartbeat slowly took up its pace as he watched how the ‘dumpling flew and and talked as if it has a mind of her own .
