The Great Thief Chapter 1015 – Getting Wiped Three Times
Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations
At this time, Glory Capital was experiencing their third defeat at the hands of Jandis Barov.
“Ruling Sword has already defeated the illusionist.”
The message that was taken from Square Root 3 had now been passed onto the Glory Capital.
“Whose idea was this? How does getting their progress help us?” Sorrowless looked pale. Throughout his gaming career, he rarely showed his true feelings. His indifference starkly contrasted to Lu Li’s stubbornness that had developed from the countless sufferings he had endured. He just had an unshakable pride.
His teammates were a little nervous. They didn’t know if their president was angry, but he undoubtedly wasn’t happy about what was happening.
In fact, Sorrowless actually felt much more bitter than the others around him.
He didn’t know that this was Ruling Sword’s forte, but he couldn’t just give up. Since the first moment he started playing games, he had forgotten what it meant to give up.
Changes in the gaming circle were inevitable and it didn’t matter that he didn’t want to leave. Even if he stayed, he would be a porblem to everyone else in the gaming industry.
The commercial value of any person would one day be exhausted no matter what.
Sorrowless had initially planned for Dawn to be the last game in which he played professionally.
However, his number one rank had been taken from him, and when he was assassinated by Lu Li, Lu Li’s name was made known to the other great gaming experts. This had sparked the bloodthirstiness of Sorrowless.
The theory of gambling was quite complex, but one thing was guaranteed.
It was a fair fight!
Glory Capital would not hold back in this fight.
With Rattlegore was in front of him, Lu Li announced at the start of the fight that they probably needed to get wiped once or twice before figuring out how the Boss worked.

In fact, most First Clear acquisitions came with death. Any high-level Boss required careful observation and reflection to develop a strategy, as well as a bit of luck.
Rattlegore wasn’t too difficult, but it was definitely worthy of the grade that it was given.
If the illusions of Jandis Barov tested the area of effect skills of the group, then Rattlegore would be a test of the Main Tank’s kiting ability.
“Dammit, the System just told me that I’ve been hit with Rust,” Azure Sea Breeze called out.
Originally, he was only taking four to five hundred damage, but after getting hit by Rust, he received seven to eight hundred damage. Moreover, when the Rust debuff was stacked, more than three thousand damage was dealt at a time. This didn’t give March Rain and the others much of a chance to heal. Azure Sea Breeze basically died immediately.
Rust: Every successful melee attack will cause Rattlegore’s blunt sword to rust and increase damage by 50%. Its attack speed will be reduced by 5% and its movement speed reduced by 5% for 15 seconds. This effect can be stacked.
This was the signature skill of Rattlegore.
No matter what it was called, it was a very powerful effect. Two stacked Rusts was equivalent to a critical hit. With four of five hits, even a powerful Main Tank like Azure Sea Breeze would be killed.
After the Main Tank died, the rest of the group got wiped. The battle hadn’t gone for very long so it wasn’t worthwhile wasting time to Resurrect.
“This Boss seems to require you to kite,” Lu Li said to Azure Sea Breeze. They didn’t have much time to waste here.
“I’ll give it a try.”
It wasn’t like he had never kited before, but he wasn’t sure about doing it to this Boss. Its damage was so high and its movement speed was so fast.
The first attempt went quite smoothly. After the aggro stabilized, Azure Sea breeze immediately took two steps back, successfully delaying the third stack of Rust. By the time the third stack of Rust applied, the first Rust’s 15 second duration had almost elapsed.

“Don’t move too quickly, or you will drop the aggro,” Lu Li reminded, watching as Azure Sea Breeze started moving too quickly.
The reason he gave was so he wouldn’t drop aggro, but there was another reason behind it. After the Main Tank moved beyond a certain range, Rattlegore would use a ranged skill – Bone Needle.
Bone Needle: Rattlegore launches a powerful Bone Needle at a random player, causing a lot of physical and poison damage. It also knocks the player back a great distance.
Of all the Bosses in Scholomance, Rattlegore had the least number of skills, even for a level 50 Boss. He only had two skills – Rust and Bone Needle. This was extraordinary as these high-level Bosses usually had three to five skills.
However, things that were rare were often more condensed in terms of strength. Perhaps it was for this reason that these two skills were very powerful.
Rust was a stacking damage buff while Bone Needle was a powerful one-shot skill with continuous poison damage.
With Lu Li’s equipment and level, a Bone Needle would remove 70-80% of his HP. If it was a critical hit, it would just one-shot him.
As for March Rain, a Cloth Profession, she would die unless she cast her damage reduction skills. However, the Bone Needle was so quick that there wouldn’t be a chance for her to.
Just as Lu Li spoke, Azure Sea Breeze took one step too far. Rattlegore let out a scream at threw at Bone Needle at him.
They had been wiped once again!
Before their third attempt to fight the Boss, Lu Li summoned Maintenance Robots to repair everyone’s equipment.
“Sorry, I should have listened to you.”
The two times that they had been wiped were because of him, so Azure Sea Breeze couldn’t help but feel bad. Now, everyone had to repair their equipment. If the number of times that they got wiped was high enough, the gold received from the Instance Dungeon wouldn’t even be enough to cover the costs of repairing the equipment.
“It’s okay. Next time just pay more attention to it. Once you’re rested we’ll start again. Sorrowless will probably have found the right strategy by now, and will probably clear the second Boss soon.”
There likely wouldn’t be any more problems with the Main Tank; Lu Li trusted Azure Sea Breeze to get the job done.
The next problem they needed to face was if the Bone Needle was targeted at another player, particularly a Cloth profession. There was no way they could avoid a death in that situation.
Even if the Main Tank didn’t die, if they didn’t have enough Healers or Damage output, they wouldn’t be able to defeat the Boss.
Lu Li pretended to kick over the bones that were everywhere in the room. The piles of bones then started to float and rotate around him.
Bone Armor: A series of rotating white bones around the caster; will absorb a white bone spell for 15 seconds.
Lu Li told them the property of this buff and everyone immediately understood the role it served.
The game couldn’t design an Instance Dungeon and Boss without a solution. The Bone Armor was obviously for the Bone Needle. As long as the Bone Armor was on you when the Bone Needle hit, the player would be safe.
Then everyone else, including Azure Sea Breeze deliberately kicked over a pile of bones when necessary.
With this information in mind, they used the Bone Armor in the fight. However, in the middle of it, Azure Sea Breeze made a mistake when trying to kick over a pile of bones, ushering in the third defeat for Ruling Sword.

Gaslgiht
There is a common line of questioning that falls upon students within their first moments at Kingsly. “Why?”. The student asks, “Why am I here?”. This is a futile line of questioning. There are those who remember, and those who do not. I’ll spare you the technical explanation — that’s what we have teachers for. The jist is as follows: those who remember are... how do I put this... more likely. They occupy more time. and the space that time has allowed them — the pertinent amount — is experienced no matter what. Allow me to offer you a bit of personal information: I am not one who remembers. There is no time relevant to me, no space that I occupy. I exist by carving myself here, and continue to exist in the same fashion. You would do well to follow suit. Why am I here? Because I force myself to be. Because the universe, the universes, for all its kicking and screaming, cannot escort me out.

Nightmare Infinity
God's Dimension was created for the purpose of evolution. It would push its chosen through countless trials, horrors and nightmares to fulfill this goal. Only through the constant threat of death will humanity be forced to evolved. The chosen are those who have given up on life. Those who have nothing to live for, and those who life has nothing to offer. With the hope of finding that meaning, they enter God's Dimension. In the beginning God used the stories of mankind to create these trials. Sending the chosen into the worlds of monsters and demons, and granting them the powers of the inhabitants of those worlds. But with man's evolution God changed these trials, sending the chosen into new and more dangerous worlds, which in turn granted them access to the powers of those worlds. The first change came when God sent the chosen into the worlds of horror and action movies: Alien, Predator, The Grudge, Nightmare on Elm Street, Starship Troopers, and many more. The second change came when God included the worlds of Anime, Manga, and Light Novels into its trials: Fate/Zero, Btoom, Highschool of the Dead, Akame ga Kill, Naruto, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Terra Formars and many more. Now God has changed the trials once again and included the worlds of Video Games into its trials. In recent years the number of video games that come out each year has skyrocketed. More worlds, greater challenges, and increased danger await the chosen of God's Dimension. No one, even the veterans of God's Dimension, knows how this will affect them. The number of powers and worlds God's Dimension allows access to has once again increased, but will they survive long enough to make use of them? *Warning* This story is a Terror Infinity fanfic and will heavily cross over with different video games, anime, and manga. I will try to use ones which have already well known stories so as to not spoil anyone. Though I might change it up here and there to keep the plot interesting. Another warning is that this story will, or at least try, to show the despair and horrors each character went through. There will be a some gore, mature content, and some pretty disturbing stuff, but nothing too much. A story is meant to entertain and a grimdark gorefest is not that pleasant to read.
