The Great Thief Chapter 1056 – Watching With the Crowds
Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations
The wolf’s HP dropped quickly, but it wasn’t quick enough to cancel its skill.
Azure Sea Breeze was to first to be affected. Not only did the Boss’ attacks improve, but they now also had an Armor Piercing effect.
If the Main Tank didn’t have any Armor, it would be a very bleak situation.
Fortunately, he had a hefty amount of HP, despite already losing almost seven thousand HP. If this was any other Main Tank, they would have died already. It was in that moment everyone understood why a Main Tank needed to have a large HP bar in addition to Damage Reduction Skills and Armor.
The aggro of the wolf was now no longer simply focused on Azure Sea Breeze as the aggression on each player had been altered..
“Elevenless, use your damage reduction skills,” Lu Li instructed as he watched as the wolf rushed towards Elevenless. Azure Sea Breeze cast two Taunt skills but was unable to force the Boss to turn back.
He was a Plate Armored player with a Gold set and damage reduction skills, so tanking the attacks was no problem for him.
Elevenless was definitely skilled, otherwise, there was no way he could have been the Wing’s Of Dawn’s core player and one of the top Warriors in the game. However, Lu Li quickly realized he had made a mistake. Since the attacks were piercing attacks, why did it matter that he was Plate-Armored or that he had a Gold set? Those things were meaningless in this situation.
What was even more unfortunate was that Elevenless was being dealt critical hit after critical hit. Even March Rain couldn’t save him. It didn’t matter how exquisite his equipment was; it simply wasn’t enough.
And so, Elevenless became the first player to die as a result of this fight.
“Everyone, keep steady. Run away as fast as you can; don’t let the Boss hit you,” Lu Li said, trying to calm down his teammates. He was glad that they were all quite mentally stable, or else they would have already descended into chaos.
Water Fairy was a person who had worked with him before, and Unforgettable Maple was a seasoned gamer.
The second person to get chased by the wolf was Hachi Chan, who screamed and turned into a leopard before running away.

“Don’t run around randomly; run towards Breezy!”
Lu Li was stunned and tried to draw the aggro, but it didn’t help. The wolf’s aggro seemed to be completely focused on Hachi Chan’s body.
Hachi Chan panicked at first, but then she found out that the Boss was moving at the same speed as she was. She then slowly calmed down and did what Lu Li had instructed her to do.
At this time, Lu Li was glad that the Boss was focused on Hachi Chan.
In fact, it was more advantageous for the Boss to be chasing her than any other player here. He didn’t know how many movement speed buffs she had, but she had no problem creating distance between herself and the Boss.
The wolf that had expanded to twice its original size soon reformed back to its original shape.
“It still has 20% HP, but I don’t think there will be any new tricks,” Lu Li said as he resurrected Elevenless. Elevenless seemed to be quite dejected, and his expression gave Lu Li goosebumps when he looked at him.
“Why, why is it that every time I come into contact with you I end up dying? This is already the second time!” Elevenless exclaimed.
“Hey, it’s a Boss,” Lu Li said with a shrug.
“Ooh, how shameful. I didn’t even die,” Hachi Chan teased as she stuck out her tongue at Elevenless. He was completely speechless. A healer had managed to not get killed by the Boss, but he, a Plate-Armored Berserker, couldn’t even survive for 10 seconds with healing support.
“Alright, pay attention everyone. The Boss will probably go Berserk. Remember to stay close to Hachi Chan and Azure Sea Breeze. Even if you die, you should die near them,” Lu Li reminded everyone.
After all, the aggro mechanism seemed to have been randomized, so no one knew who the Boss was going to attack. However, when the target died, the Boss would choose the target closest them.
Of course, none of them wanted to lose EXP.
The next skill was another illusion that made their teammates monsters again. However, this was no longer effective on any of them.
By the time its HP dropped to 10%, the wolf went Berserk.
Surprisingly, the target was Lu Li.
Lu Li smiled and turned into a little leopard. If Hachi Chan could easily outrun the Boss, then so could he. If something went wrong, he still had Gale Steps and other skills to escape with.

The wolf chased after Lu Li but couldn’t touch him. Even though it got faster in the final stages, Lu Li’s movement speed was still greater.
Eventually, the Boss’ Berserk ended. Fortunately, it didn’t go into Berserk again before it died.
When everyone got the prompt that they had received their EXP, they let out a sigh of relief.
This was the first time they had done something like this with so few casualties; no one could believe it.
It was somewhat true to say that this Boss was weak, but that didn’t mean that it wasn’t difficult for a ten player team.
If Lu Li hadn’t found the real body in the First Stage, Kitty Likes Meat might have been killed by the Boss and it was likely that they would have gotten wiped not long after that.
After the illusion were cast that caused the players were turned into monsters, it was Lu Li who had discovered this.
If anyone accidentally killed a teammate after that, it would truly be impossible to believe.
Piercing attacks were also an easy way for an ordinary team to get wiped. After all, the Main Tank wasn’t able to tank the Boss’ attacks after it grew bigger. Without Hachi Chan and Lu Li’s movement speed, the Boss would have caught them.
In general, if you wanted to defeat this Boss, you needed to possess sheer strength and be incredibly lucky.
The EXP that they gained was quite a bit more than most monsters in Azeroth. However, no matter how great it was, it was less that the EXP that Elevenless had lost. He had only made back half of the EXP and had to farm for a few days before he could make the rest back.
After the fight was over, the cute little Hunter hummed as she went to loot the Boss.
Water Fairy had experienced her lucky hands before, which why she wanted to poach this girl for Drizzle Court.
Elevenless and Unforgetful Maple were also famous for their lucky hands, but they all let the girl complete the job. They wanted to see how lucky she truly was.
Remnant Dream went to the Boss, oblivious to the other players who were praying for the Boss to drop something that they could use. She just went straight to looting the body, seemingly without a care in the world. Elevenless and Unforgetful almost choked at this sight.
“Wow, it’s an Epic dagger!” Remnant Dream exclaimed happily.
It was an Epic Dagger, but was it for Magical or Physical professions?
If it was for Magical Professions, it could be for a Priest, Mage or Warlock. However, if it was for a physical profession, then it was probably for a Thief. Most players that were present cared about what kind of dagger this was. Even the female tycoon was eagerly waiting for the little hunter to announce the equipment’s Attributes.
Remnant Dream didn’t stall for time, and shared the description to everyone.
It was a Level 50 Epic Dagger for physical professions with high Attack and critical hit. It had three special effects that were decent and could probably be used until a player was level 60.
Now there was the question of who this item should be assigned to.
“Hey, there’s gonna be a fight. You guys should fight. The rest of us can watch.”
Unforgettable Maple felt depressed, but he knew of the rumors between the two players vying for this equipment.
“Come, come, gather around,” Elevenless gloated.
Elevenless admired Water Fairy. In fact, Elevenless admired anyone who was a beautiful woman. It was his hope that one day, someone would reciprocate his feelings.
But right now, Water Fairy obviously wasn’t interested in him, so he focused his mind on watching the events before him unfold.
Azure Sea Breeze wasn’t a particularly moral person either; he could appreciate the drama. Hachi Chan and Remnant Dream were naïve, so they had no idea what was going on. They were just waiting so that they could continue looting the body.
“How about you take it?” Water Fairy was a little upset at the players around them, and glared at those making the joke.
No matter how greedy and thick-skinned Lu Li was, he couldn’t help but feel some embarrassment in this moment.
What’s more, this item wasn’t even that attractive for him. The Felstriker that he had in hand was much better this item. Even the Widowmaker that wasn’t an Epic item was just about as strong.
Not only did the Widowmaker have high critical hit, but it also had an escape skill which was far more suitable for Lu Li.

You have such an amazing way to make the words flow and unbelievable descriptions. Unique characters and a great story line. All the small clues and mystery in the humor and fantasy just makes the book perfect in my opinion. I read all chapters in two days! Less than 48 hours even! I'm REALLY looking forward to the next update, the world of Aethernea is so deep and well thought out, it's beautiful and magical. God I can't believe how creative you are, so many small details with so many families and stories everywhere. Purely fantastical, I admire you." - astro-logical from Wattpad "I love love love Aethernea so much! It is amazing how you created this new world with different creatures, magics, looks, illnesses, and evil! I was blown away by your explanation of the Mana pools and how to weave magic! Simply stunning really! You are one of my favorite authors and Wattpad and I am so glad I stumbled upon Aethernea because it is worth all of my time reading!" - Adriana_V_Blade from Wattpad "I absolutely am loving Aethernea so far. I am certain you belong in the ranks among J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Suzane Collinings, and many more great and wonderful authors. You opened up a whole new world for me, which only a few great authors have accomplished. While it's true I am pulled into each and every book, few are able to capture me to the point of inescapability. Though, somehow, you have managed this feat. I thank you for this and more! You are a wonderful author and can't wait for more to come!" - daughterofpercabeth7 from Wattpad "WOW! just caught Aethernea in gravity tales! Just when I was getting tired of most xianxia novels this appears and completely blows my mind! I really like the depth and the humorous touch you give the characters and it seems you have the storyline well thought out since you are always hinting about things in the past and the future. It has been such an enjoyable experience that I couldn't stop reading, finishing it in just one day and laughing my way through most of the episodes. But what keeps me so excited for what's coming is the magic system and the professions of the world you are creating. The magic mechanics have such a huge potential! They are simple but at the same time they open so many possibilities. Even though we still only understand the basics of transmutation and augmentation, I expect them to enable fights where there is need of quick thinking and skill, and not just brainless overpower of every opponent. In a way this makes me reminiscent about The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson, which are one of my favorite series ever. The thing that sets Mistborn apart from any other series is that the mechanics are so well thought out that they could be used to create a super cool triple A video game and I cannot help but hope Aethernea reaches the same level or even surpass it. I really think it has that potential. Really hope this series gets the attention it deserves. As for me, Thursdays and Sundays just got a whole more exciting! =)" - AlexMLion "Your writing is fantastic and riveting, the chapters and character flow so smooth, and it captivates the reader with the many twist and turns that tricks one mind into thinking this is about to happen, when suddenly the exact opposite happens. You truly are in inspirational writer with a brilliant mind that can see and put words into chapters and into this one truly awesome book. Thank you!" - AshleyStaar from Wattpad "I loved this story, such detailed description and accurate words, both Kiel and Elaru completely caught my attention, your writing style is just beautiful and the plot is astounding and it's just the first episode! This kind of fantasy stories are my favourite, it has a lot of magic in it, rivalry and sense of humour." - BlackWhiteD from Wattpad
