The Great Thief Chapter 1060 – Carriage Robbery
Translator: Halcyon Translations Editor: Halcyon Translations
The place that was before Lu Li was some kind of workshop. It didn’t seem too big, so hopefully, there wouldn’t be that many people.
At the entrance was a parked carriage and a manager who was shouting to get some things moved. As a student of the Engineering Trade Skill, Lu Li could smell the gunpowder in the air and guessed that this was a military gunpowder workshop.
This type of workshop was different from the Blacksmith. It was obviously too dangerous to place these kind of workshops in the castle.
“Everyone, stay put. Water Fairy and I will explore the situation first.”
Lu Li was still far away, but he was using a telescope to observe the workshop.
The workshop was quite spacious. Both Lu Li and Water Fairy were masters of Stealth and would not be discovered under normal circumstances.
However, this military workshop would have set up a number of traps. If you didn’t pay attention, you could trigger a trap and be discovered. There were so many workers and guards here that they probably wouldn’t be able to defeat them all. Lu Li estimated that the manager was also a quasi-Boss.
He quickly worked out the number of workers in the area.
It was exactly 60 people!
This number scared Lu Li. He didn’t think there would be so many people – initially, he thought there would be a dozen of them.
They probably couldn’t fight these 60 people, unless some special circumstances arose. If Lu Li was correct and the Manager was at least a quasi-Boss, he would have an inspiration aura. If they fought a quasi-Boss leading 60 mobs, they would probably have be wiped before even running into Saar.
“We don’t have to attack these workers. We can wait outside to hijack the carriage, right?” Water Fairy asked after hearing Lu Li’s explanation.

“Oh you’re right, I didn’t think of that.”
Lu Li smiled and told everyone to prepare to intercept the carriage.
“So there are some things that you don’t think of. I thought you always knew about everything,” Unforgettable Maple was surprised. The status that Lu Li had in his mind slowly faded away as he realized that Lu Li was just a player too.
“How can I know possibly know everything?” Lu Li reasoned, then silently added that even though he had been reborn, he still wasn’t omniscient.
A group of players set up an ambush in the woods. Lu Li summoned two beasts that stood in front of the carriage as it was passing by. Although they didn’t necessarily pose a threat to the carriage, the Manager ordered the carriage to stop to prevent any damage to it.
“Attack!”
The group of high-levelled players immediately rushed out like highway robbers.
Lu Li and Water Fairy both used one Sap each as they rushed the Manager. The remaining six to seven guards were also hit with various attacks.
Before they attacked, Lu Li emphasized that they shouldn’t use any fire skills or anything that could cause a burning effect. In this virtual game environment, the barrels were flammable and explosive. They could be used to kill monsters, but they could kill them too.
It turned out that the Manager really was a quasi-Boss; he was level 55 and had nearly 100,000HP.
Everyone was already worried about detonating the explosives, but the Boss also gave the mobs a HP regeneration buff, which made killing them even more difficult.
After a tremendous effort, they eventually killed all the monsters and quickly took the loot. They then buried the bodies in the woods next to them. They knew that the monsters would refresh but they just prayed that no one would pass by during that time, or if they did, that they would just ignore them.

“How do we use the carriage?”
This was the first time they had hijacked the carriage of the locals, and no one really knew what to do.
“The driver must be equipped with this license item,” Lu Li said as he took out the sign that he had taken from the Manager’s body. Without any further explanation, he equipped it as a badge.
While there were fewer protection systems in place, the general population would soon gain a love for robberies like this. However, attempting to rob an NPC was usually a death wish. Lu Li only dared to do this because they were on a special quest. In this world, the rules that bound normal adventurers had not yet appeared.
Of course, he wasn’t going to tell that to Unforgettable Maple or Elevenless. It would be best if they immediately tried this an NPC after they got back; they would probably be slaughtered.
In Dawn, if a player robbed a carriage from the opposing faction, the NPC’s level would immediately increase by 20. If the carriage was from the same faction, its level would increase by 50 and the player would lose some reputation.
Lu Li had never claimed to be a good person to begin with, so he didn’t feel much guilt in not telling Unforgettable Maple and Elevenless this.
Everyone here might have good private relationships and would even have a drink together, but they would definitely sell out their opponents if given the chance.
Lu Li checked the carriage and found 20 barrels of explosives and two hundred sets of silver ingots. No wonder the carriage was moving so slowly – otherwise, Lu Li wouldn’t have been able to stop them anyway.
There were ten players here, so each player received 20 sets of silver.
Silver ingots were quite rare, but Captain Skarloc would probably let them into the Durnholde Castle with these items. These silver ingots would directly address the current Copper ore shortage.
“How about these 20 barrels of explosives?” Unforgettable Maple asked uncomfortably.
Of the two hundred silver ingots, Ruling Sword had managed to take 140 of them based on their numbers. Even if Unforgettable Maple didn’t like it, Lu Li also really wanted to split up these explosives. These weren’t something that even an Engineering player could make.
“We don’t need to split up these explosives; we’ll need them later.”
Lu Li smiled and pushed aside his wishful thinking.
As they rode the carriage, the group began to travel in the direction of Durnholde Castle.
Occasionally, they were would be people or even soldiers on the road, but they didn’t pay much attention to Lu Li after seeing the mark on the carriage. This carriage was simply one of many in the Hillsbrad Hills.
The Durnholde Castle belonged to the Alliance. It was quite unremarkable, but it had a strong significance in the history of Azeroth.
The reason this was a special location was because it was used to hold the most Orcs that were captured during the Second Great War. Even the surrounding camps were controlled by Durnholde Castle. Sergeant Blackmoore didn’t actually have a high position, but he had real power in his control. The Alliance lost many fine officers in the Second Great War, which made it possible for a Sergeant to have this kind of control over the Castle and its surrounding camps.
Of course, what really made Durnholde famous was the fact that it was the place where the great Chief Saar had grown up.
Here, Saar learned fighting skills, tactics, literature and art. However, the most important thing he learned here was kindness because of the different way he was raised, even though this didn’t necessarily mean that he would go on to become a great person.
