The Great Thief Chapter 1489 – Double Shot
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
“Don’t kill me! Daddy, don’t kill me! Please!” Unforgettable Maple cried out, watching his HP decrease quickly as he hit the ground. He was completely frozen. However, since he was still a professional player, his mechanics were still quite fluid. Even though he was on the ground, he still had a chance to avoid the bullets.
But calling out ‘daddy’ that easily? This clearly wasn’t the first time.
“Bang!”
The system indicated that Lu Li had used the 98K and killed Elevenless. The gun that was in Elevenless’ hand immediately stopped firing.
Looking back at Unforgettable Maple, he only had a sliver of HP left. If he died, then he would be eliminated. Before Elevenless died, his last desperate move was actually quite decisive. Firstly, he attracted all the attention to him, then he used that to kill one person.
This type of action wouldn’t turn the tables, since their team was mostly eliminated. Furthermore, their positions were also quite awkward.
At least this way, the gaming experience of old opponents like Unforgettable Maple would be disrupted. Their numbers would also be depleted, so when it came down to it in the end, they might even lose out on the win.
“Hurry up and save me! It’s my second time on the ground already!” Unforgettable Maple yelled.
“Unbelievable. ‘Daddy’? Yell that out again, or I won’t save you,” Innocent Child said as hesquatted down in front of Unforgettable Maple and looked at him with disdain.
Was there a need to beg? How shameless.
“Go to hell, prick. Are you itching for a fight? I’ll fight you in real life.” Unforgettable Maple was enraged.
Innocent Child sneered at him, but he still continued to save Unforgettable Maple.
As for Lu Li and Water Fairy, they were happily adding to their inventory.
They didn’t know where Elevenless had founds all these goods. Perhaps they were looted from chests or from killing a lot of people.
Lu Li took out a fully loaded M16. Truthfully speaking, he didn’t like the M4 that much. He was only satisfied with the M4 if the M4 had full magazines. However, in the circumstance where there was a lack of ammo, the M4’s firing rate and stability was worse than the M16. especially at short to medium range distances.

This type of difference could only be detected by the more-skilled players.
Under normal circumstances, there wasn’t much of a difference between the various automatic rifles. It wasn’t life-changing if someone preferred one particular type and another person used a different type.
As for the sub-weapon, there was a gun called the AWM – Survival and Escape’s strongest sniper rifle. It was looted from Dream 13. The AWM didn’t use normal sized bullets, but rather, it used special bullets that were extremely powerful.
Guns like these could not be looted from normal locations. They could only be gained from the supply boxes that dropped from the planes.
From this, Lu Li immediately became rich.
His only regret was that there weren’t many bullets; there were only 13 left. This was probably also why Dream 13 didn’t use this gun often.
Lu Li gave the 98K to Water Fairy and equipped this gun for himself. As for Innocent Child, he could go and loot Elevenless’ gun. Unforgettable Maple didn’t like to use snipers. One time, he had reached the end of the game with just an M4.
Bang!
“Oh crap! Hurry and throw a smoke!” Innocent Child yelled. He was immediately sent to the ground.
He was in the process of healing someone and was shot in the meantime, so this meant that the healing process was interrupted. Unforgettable Maple was already on the verge of death, so with the healing process interrupted, there was no chance of reviving him.
However, the gunned-down Innocent Child still had a chance to survive. Before Innocent Child even yelled out, Lu Li had already thrown a smoke grenade. Smoke quickly filled the area.
“Snowy, go and heal. I’ll cover for you. Don’t force it if there’s someone firing at you though.”
Lu Li quickly discovered their attackers. They were at the top of a tower not far from them, near the bridge.
To be able to hit Innocent Child from this distance meant that their attackers were quite skilled. From the firing sounds and damage that it dealt, it was likely that the gun was the same one that Lu Li had – the AWM. Otherwise, Innocent Child, with level 3 protective armor, would not be gunned down with one shot.
Lu Li held his breath and fired at them.

Unfortunately, none of his shots landed because the window lattice was lined with a metal fence.
However, Lu Li had achieved his goal. Although he couldn’t kill them, the sounds of the AWM managed to scare the enemies and caused them to retreat. This way, Water Fairy could safely revive Innocent Child.
“I’ll cover for you guys. You guys heal up,” Lu Li said as he changed to the automatic rifle and began firing. He had looted a 4x scope from the kill before and had attached the scope to this gun.
For people proficient with guns already, the scope didn’t really do anything at this range for an automatic rifle.
“What to do now? We’re blocked now.”
Water Fairy had also looted a lot of things. She seemed to know what her role was in this battle, so she picked up a level 3 backpack, seven medkits and 14 energy drinks. The rest consisted of ammo and scopes. For the sake of saving space, she only took 20 sniper bullets.
They could just kill their opponents and take their bullets after anyway.
“It’s not too bad. We just need to rotate while covering for each other. The key point is finding where their teammate is,” Lu Li said as he fired again and blood spurted out of his enemy’s head. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the AWM equipped, otherwise, his target would have died.
“If it was me in their shoes, I would be supporting them around 60m in the direction of that rock there. They can’t hit us from there right now, which is why they haven’t fired,” Innocent Child commented with his professional judgment.
The bullets had only come from one place, which meant that there was only one person that could shoot at Lu Li. Therefore, they could just find where the other guys were slowly.
“The circle is coming. I’ll hold them off. You guys go first,” Lu Li said as he took out the AWM.
He had resolved to kill these people. The tower was extremely high up, so they didn’t have a chance to escape the area if the enemy was still there.
“Innocent Bro, expose yourself a little. Give them a chance to shoot you.”
The enemy was able to stay composed, which made Lu Li impatient. The most annoying thing about this was getting trapped in while the circle was coming.
Innocent Child’s positioning was too good. From their opponents’ perspective, they didn’t even have the smallest window of opportunity to shoot at him.
Innocent Child understood this, so he decided to change his walking path slightly so they could have a chance at shooting.
The players on top of the tower couldn’t keep their cool any longer. They also had an AWM in the hands of a capable shooter. If there was a chance to kill, he was able to take it. As a result, he couldn’t wait and propped his gun up at the window.
Bang!
Lu Li had fired his sniper.
It only took 1 bullet!
The enemy team instantly lost a member. However, Lu Li found that there were still shadows moving around in the tower.
Bang!
After reloading, he fired again and another person fell. There were actually two people in this tower. After one person was gunned down, the other immediately ran towards the window to save his teammate. He knew that it wasn’t safe, so he began crouching as he approached the window.
Lu Li saw this small window of opportunity and fired without properly aiming.
There were still two more people that weren’t in the tower. After two consecutive members fell, these two couldn’t remain still.
They quickly jumped out, hoping to gun down Innocent Child and Water Fairy quickly.
Innocent Child was known as one of the top shooters in the game. If they gave him an opportunity to kill, his mechanics weren’t any worse than Lu Li. Shortly after this, two kills were recorded.
Only Water Fairy was still moving around mindlessly until Lu Li reminded her that the enemy was dead.
They proceeded to loot their bodies. At the end of it, they couldn’t store everything, so they had to leave a lot of valuable things behind.
They didn’t need to collect anymore after killing more people. They already had everything they needed and wanted.
It was unfortunate for Unforgettable Maple, whose corpse had already gone cold. Innocent Child picked up the Pan, which was a level 4 armor. This was like an inheritance for Innocent Child as he continued to keep fighting.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

Slime of Gluttony
_____ ___, a completely and utterly deplorable person. Lazy, apathetic, and unmotivated. He spends his time as a shut-in, wasting his life away doing nothing of importance. This is the life of the man, a life of no importance. At the impulse of desiring food, he left his small and cramped apartment. Regretting his actions immediately, he was left with the prospect of a complete panic attack due to the numerous amount of people outside at that day. However, he pressed on, determined to find some sort of delicious food to consume. Life had other plans for him. He gets hit by a car, and after hearing strange words from an even stranger voice, he dies. However, minutes, hours, maybe even days later, he awakes, his senses of smell, sight, and hearing robbed of him. Author's Note: This is my first story on Royal Road, so it might not be the best. Although, I hope you enjoy! I'll probably write around 2000 words or more per chapter, but on average a bit more. If you're wondering, the cover art is drawn by me, just in case you thought I wasn't giving credit to the creator. This story might often times lean more into the comedy side of things, but stuff can still get pretty serious at times, especially in the later chapters. The story isn't super dark or anything, but character death is of course going to be a thing. Who? Well, you'll find out, eventually. Also, I'll upload chapters on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope you enjoy reading this little hobby of mine!

Midori
The sea of stars. The momentaneous lifeforms that flicker far away. Our futures — a sea brimming with light. Each and every shimmer in the starry canvas serves as one’s infinite opportunities in the vast sea of the future. The world, however, is far from the ideals of such a mantra. Complacency is the enemy of progress, yet to the four known nations, each one sees enemies around their borders. An example: A village isolated from the nation of Alkai prevents the lives of many from progressing. It’ll take a society, a group, even a whipped together rag-tag team to jump start the quest for progress. An escape from a motionless home—in order to search for a greater future, Mira approaches her blade in a new light. Any illustrations I use for covers and chapters are illustrations I have drawn myself unless otherwise stated.
