Chapter 1588: Fist Weapons
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
System: Congratulations to Ruling Sword, Drizzle Court and Peerless City players, Azure Sea Breeze, March Rain, Lonesome Flower, Hachi Chan, Innocent Child…Water Fairy, Star Baby, Deadly Gold Underpants…who under the leadership of commander Lu Li, have achieved the First Clear of Zul’Gurub on Nightmare Difficulty.
The First Clear was broadcast out, which signalled this Instance Dungeon’s end.
Lu Li had a look at the First Clear reward.
His backpack was completely empty, but he had one more Skill Point. In a moment, he had almost been moved to tears. Could it be that his luck was too bad? From the System god above, he couldn’t tell. It turned out that his First Clear reward was just simply a single Skill Point.
It turned out after almost every Boss fell, there was someone who received a Skill Point as a reward. Lu Li could only look at it with open eyes.
The small notification that displayed the Skill Point almost caught on fire from his stare.
Others who got a Skill Point didn’t dare to discuss it in front of him, afraid that it would hurt his heart.
Right now, he could only think about washing his black face. He even thought about letting his group know that he hadn’t been so ruined as to not even receive any Skill Points.
Everyone was discussing all at once about the things they had gotten. There wasn’t anything worth keeping secret. Even Drizzle Court and Peerless City’s players joined in. They really didn’t care too much about what the Boss dropped, but they were interested in the First Clear stuff.
It wasn’t just Lu Li who received Skill Points.
Zul’Gurub’s difficulty wasn’t as high as the Molten Core or Blackwing’s Nest, but it was officially aimed at independent players and smaller guilds. As such, this Instance Dungeon actually went beyond its original intention. Rewarding them with Skill Points was especially generous.
Others received Skill Books, and Remnant Dream and Lonesome Flower left with an Enhanced Skill Book.

While Remnant Dream’s was rare, Lonesome Flower’s was especially precious.
Strengthening Blink – this immediately made him the centre of attention. Even Skill Points weren’t as cool as the Enhanced Skill Book.
Fat Monkey was pestering Lonesome Flower, wanting to buy this book from him. But after giving it a bit of thought, Lonesome Flower unexpectedly sold it to him.
The price Fat Monkey paid was the precious necklace he was wearing. Furthermore, he needed to give Lonesome Flower another Strengthening Mage skill or a Priest skill. The best would be a Priest Skill Book; Lonesome Flower was evidently hoping that his sister would gain an Enhanced Skill.
Lu Li was happy to see that their exchange worked out.
Strengthening Blink was a top-level Enhanced Skill, but for Lonesome Flower, who didn’t enjoy playing PVP, it couldn’t be used to its full extent. It would still be much better suited to the hands of a competitor.
“Hey, Arlokk’s Grasp. Moonlight, you got a Fist Weapon,” Lu Li said with great surprise.
“It’s a Fist Weapon. Do you want it?” Moonlight asked, throwing it straight at Lu Li.
“Memories? You also got a Fist Weapon,” Lu Li said again.
“I hate you man. If you want it then just say so. Its attributes are so crap I’ll gift it to you,” Sakura Memories huffed, also chucking hers over. This weapon was much worse that what she had on hand, so she didn’t really lose much by giving it to Lu Li.
“Thanks,” Lu Li said, as he silently received this weapon and put it into an Equipment Slot.
In this way, he had a pair of Fist Weapons.
No one suspected a thing. They just thought that Lu Li was sick of playing with a dagger and wanted to mess around with a pair of Fists.
Lu Li immediately went to try out his new Fists on a monster standing nearby. It was just a little monster that had slipped through the net and basically posed no threat, which was why it wasn’t cleaned up earlier.

“Hey, what’s gotten into you? You’re not dividing equipment anymore,” Azure Sea Breeze cried out.
“Dream can do it. It’s fine, let me try out this pair of weapons,” Lu Li said. His interest was evidently in this pair of Fists. Their attributes weren’t actually too bad. After all, they were already on the Epic level. The first reason they had been rejected today was because Moonlight didn’t like using Fists. He preferred axes the most, especially two-handed axes. The second reason was because Sakura Memories wasn’t very interested in saving up equipment. As long as something wasn’t as good as what she had, she could just give it away.
Moreover, Fist Weapons really weren’t worth much.
“Ok then, I’ll come divide up the weapons,” Remnant Dream said, evidently very happy about this job.
Lu Li was still killing smaller monsters to the side. The first monster had been killed, and he was now moving onto the second.
Actually, quite a few people were paying attention to him, like Water Fairy, as well as some other careful, observant people. Everyone thought it didn’t make sense that Lu Li would go and attack monsters for his own enjoyment. After traversing through such a long Instance Dungeon, someone who still wanted to kill monsters must have been frustrated.
The second monster was quickly finished off.
What could they do? These ordinary smaller monsters weren’t even elite. In front of a powerful Thief like Lu Li they struggled to survive a noteworthy time. As such, before going for the third monster, Lu Li took off more than half of his equipment, especially those which increased his attack. At this, the monsters could finally survive another few attacks.
“Strengthening Stones, one, two.”
“One stone instantly adds 300HP, and every second, you gain 20 more for 10 seconds. Start bidding now!”
This stone really was excellent; it was better than most skills that allowed you to heal yourself. At the moment, the average heal would restore almost the same amount of HP. In a crisis, this would allow you to save your own life.
As expected, as long as it was something worthwhile, the price could surge to Epic levels.
In the end, it was auctioned for 80 points and was taken by Moonlight – the PVP maniac. Expectedly, he needed this sort of life-preserving item more than the other players. He wasn’t necessarily afraid of death, but if he could stay alive for a few more seconds, he could guarantee that he could finish off his opponent. In the current patch, Berserkers lived for an embarrassingly short time. Even if they wore a full body of Plate Armor, it wouldn’t change the fact that a single Whirlwind could determine their fate.
“A stone that increases magic critical hit damage by 12% – start bidding now!”
Remnant Dream had been influenced by Lu Li after following him around for so long. She had long since learnt about how to divide up equipment. When Lu Li gave her the authority to deduct points and distribute equipment, she was already completely used to the role.
As long as a Stone’s attributes weren’t too bad, it was generally popular. This sort of item which increased critical hit damage was even more sought after, even among other popular items.
Therefore as soon as Remnant Dream’s voice dropped off, a whole group of people began to bid. It was even more popular that that previous stone that could be used by all roles, and the price quickly surpassed the price of 80 points. It even broke 100 points.
However, at this point, everyone became more serious, needing to think about if it really was worth it to spend 100 points on a stone.
In the end, Deadly Green Orange won it for 110 points. This was enough to show that although Hakkar’s performance was average, the things he dropped made him fully deserving of his identity.

A Fragmented Mind
"Hi there. My name is Richard Maddox, but my — admittedly nonexistent — friends call me Rick. I live in a world of superheroes and villains. A world filled with magic and physics-defying powers, and in this world, I'm just an ordinary, completely average 17-year-old boy. My imaginary friends, however, are as far from average as you get. You think you're good at deluding yourself? Well, stand back, because it's time for a master to show you his craft. Welcome to my life, the life of a madman." This story was originally inspired by the 'Legion' novella series written by Brandon Sanderson. If you've read those books and liked them, it might be worth giving this a read. The same goes if you haven't read them either, I guess. (Currently re-writing earlier chapters)

[Participating in the NaNoWriMo]"Damn you Josh! How could you mess up this badly? Watch as people in power make bad choices which may or may not lead to the worst possible outcome. ___________________________________There will be some cursing and swearing, a tiny bit of gore perhaps but nothing major. The story also deals with darker emotional things... the psycho and tragedy tags are there for a reason!I had only a months time to write this story and frankly that´s the most creative writing I have ever done in my life. 50k words I can´t believe I did it. Thanks everyone. Without your support I doubt I would have made it.Please support me by pointing out logical errors and the things you didn´t like about the story. As it´s a rushed work I am aware that it has many flaws.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
