Chapter 1778: Target
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
Since both sides were fired up, everyone else was overjoyed.
The opening battle for the Finals was the hottest and most-anticipated clash of the whole season of the Shadow Cup. The organisers decided to add last-minute additional tickets, but these instantly sold out as well.
The entry tickets were one gold a piece. Selling 10 million tickets meant 10 million gold.
Hundreds of millions of dollars had just entered the organiser’s pockets, just like that. It was true that people with the financial capabilities were able to earn money more easily. Not even Lu Li, when he was reborn, would be able to earn 100 million gold.
This wasn’t the first battle between Lu Li and Sorrowless. In their previous battles, it was mostly Lu Li who had the advantage.
In the beginning, it was because Lu Li was a higher level than Sorrowless. Sorrowless had also planned to retire. Then Lu Li, with the advantages of being reborn, was able to surpass Sorrowless each time they clashed.
However, this advantage was becoming weaker and weaker. At this point in time, it was already non-existent.
He truly did not know whether or not he would be able to defeat Sorrowless. After all, Sorrowless had used powerful methods to defeat a top-level Thief in Water Fairy.”
They did not immediately start battling after entering the arena.
Lu Li was a little confused. He didn’t think that there was anything to talk about. Glory Capital wanted to maintain their position at the top, which meant that they needed to crush Ruling Sword’s ascension. However, Lu Li wanted to place Ruling Sword at the top, which meant that they needed to defeat Sorrowless’ Glory Capital.
There were no personal grudges between the two of them. However, because of their clubs, they had already become each other’s worst enemies.

“Is Darkness well?” Sorrowless asked.
“Darkness? Lu Li suddenly realised that there was someone who had a close relationship with Sorrowless on his side. Although they were both in the Instance Dungeon team, there weren’t many interactions between them. After all, all of his attention was on clearing Instance Dungeons and Water Fairy. Furthermore, it would be suicide to talk to another pretty girl while already having a girlfriend.
However, he replied with a genuine tone, saying, “Darkness seems to be going pretty well. She seems quite happy.”
If Darkness was happy, then Sorrowless wasn’t happy. He had too much pride to have the mindset of ‘as long as you are happy, then I am happy.’ He felt that Darkness’ happiness could only be made true if it was with him.
“Be honest with me. What price do I need to pay for you to return Darkness to me?”
“Big Bro,” Lu Li said, nearly laughing out loud, “What do you mean by that? I can’t control what Darkness wants. If she wants to return to you, then what reason would I have to prevent that? The most I could do is force her to pay a fee for a contract termination. Then again, money doesn’t mean much to you. If she doesn’t want to return to you, then she would only end up leaving us and joining another club, like Blood Red War Flag. All in all, if she doesn’t want to return to you, then she won’t.”
A flash of sadness appeared on Sorrowless’ face.
“There’s no bad blood between me and her. If you can just arrange for a time for us to meet and talk, then we will let you win this Shadow Cup.”
“Haha! Sorrowless, Sorrowless. You’re thinking too highly of yourself, aren’t you? Unless, love has really made you stupid. We don’t need you to let us win! We’ll be able to take this championship with our own hands.”

“I apologise if my words have made you uncomfortable,” Sorrowless apologized. He needed to endure this, and continued to say calmly, “You also have someone you love, so you understand how I feel, right?”
“No, I don’t. The person I love was bullied by you on the arena. The fact that I didn’t jump in was already good enough, so wanting me to help you?”
Lu Li was speechless at Sorrowless’ logic. In everyone’s eyes, they thought that Sorrowless was flawless, like a god. In the end, he was an ordinary person after all.
The audience couldn’t hear what they were saying on stage.
This was because the fighters could choose to broadcast their words or not. They could just use the arena as a chatroom and no one would know.
Everyone was curious about what Sorrowless and Lu Li were talking about. After all, these were two people from opposing clubs. One was from Ruling Sword, and the other from Glory Capital. Therefore, whatever they had to discuss must have been something important.
Many people in the audience were hollering for the organisers to release the audio.
There were also people asking others to lip read as well.
This was a game, so there were no holes for people to exploit.
Lu Li and Sorrowless’ discussion came to an end. Lu Li did not accept Sorrowless’ proposal and aimed to take the championship through their own strength. On the other hand, Sorrowless also wanted to use his own strength to utterly defeat Ruling Sword as well.
Sorrowless had many tricks up his sleeves, but he had already used many of them. As such, Lu Li’s items all countered Sorrowless’ items. He didn’t have many exquisite items, but they all had their uses.
Sorrowless felt a little regretful. His set of items was focused on crowd-control and could be used to counter Thieves. In terms of DPS, it was fairly average. If everything went smoothly, then he would definitely be able to press Lu Li hard, but unfortunately, Lu Li had already prepared for that.
Lu Li’s current set of items were gathered from the storages of all three clubs and mainly focused on continuous DPS and escape.
His strategy was simple – he would charge in, deal damage to Sorrowless, then immediately run. It was almost shameless. He planned to shave off Sorrowless’ HP bit by bit.
Of course, Lu Li couldn’t escape without being damaged at all, so his HP was dropping slowly as well.
At the 13-minute mark of the battle, Lu Li finally managed to defeat Sorrowless using his shameless strategy, but he didn’t have much HP left himself.
Lu Li’s victory was quite surprising, as his DPS wasn’t high. In fact, it was almost pitiful. Any random set of offensive Thief items would result in more DPS than during this battle. He also didn’t have high armor either. If Sorrowless could have caught him even once and properly damaged him, then he would have died.
The key was to dispel crowd-control and continuously attack. It was an extremely specific set of skills.
Everyone watching was sorely disappointed. They were all booing at Lu Li, but booing could not change the result.
Lu Li used this battle to prove his shamelessness, or rather his strength!
Sorrowless had been defeated!
Why had the all-powerful Sorrowless been defeated by a newbie who had only been in the circle for less than two years?

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.

Captain Critiques: A Grumpy Pirate Review Book
(CURRENTLY OPEN)When it comes to reviews, I'm probably as harsh as the hellhole most story ideas crawl out of. I'm blunt, sarcasic, to the point and I know what I like in a story. As you can probably guess, you don't wanna take my advice if your like an overprotective mother about your story. Who am I kidding, EVERYONE is like that about their stories. But, if you could find the courage to pry the story out of your cold, crabby hands so I can give my brutally honest opinion then be my guest. Just don't try and start a fight once I provide it. You DON'T wanna fight a pirate. .................................. I reserve the right to decline stories as this will be taking up quite a bit of my time and if I say no, I mean NO. If your blurb is unreadable I will decline it. If it includes the genres mentioned in my 'Hell No' section then I will send it back where it came from.Do NOT critique the Captain.
