Chapter 1796: The Viewpoint of the Demi-God’s Son
“I want to travel to the other side of The Dark Portal. I’ve already made all the preparations,” Lu Li said.
Remulos understood Lu Li’s purpose for coming very quickly.
“The Dark Portal? Right, sounds like you’re already familiar with it, and maybe you’ve already prepared for it, but you can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like. You can enter into my dream; I’ll take you to have a look.”
As a relative of the Dream Queen, the Keepers of the Grove could easily pull Lu Li into their own world.
The Dark Portal had seen all the wars between humans and Orcs. It was the beginning of them all.
“The war being Burning Legion and Azeroth can be traced back 10,000 years, but it was only many years ago that a green tide of water rushed out of The Dark Portal, sweeping over the whole land. Only then did people know that Orcs existed. It was also at that moment that the ordinary beings in Azeroth started their war with Burning Legion. In the same way, at the same time, humans and Orcs entered into a cycle of mutual hatred.”
“But Elves, Wyrms as well as Aegwynn had fought with Burning Legion ages ago,” Lu Li said.
“I said ordinary beings. Child, they are not ordinary beings. The grand Mage Aegwynn is stronger than you think – it wouldn’t be too much to say she was a Demi-God.”
Evidently, Remulos really looked up to the strongest female human mage.
The scenery around them continued to change irregularly. In an instant, Lu Li arrived in front of a giant portal.
This legendary portal was made in the shape of a Temple’s main door. It looked solemn and dignified, and carried some mystery with it as well.
Apparently, the two stone statues on top of the portal were made in Medivh’s own image, but no one until now was sure of what the The Dark Portal was made of. By looking at it, it just looked like a stone door, but its solidity was far beyond anyone’s imagination.

In the sixth year of The Dark Portal, the Alliance’s counterattack finally chased the Orcs back to the other side.
At this time, they destroyed the idea of The Dark Portal, but they had no way to physically remove it. In the end, the mage Khadgar, who was familiar with Medivh, discovered how to close the Dark Portal through his research. Furthermore, despite the explosion of Draenor, the Dark Portal was still perfectly intact and suffered no damage. Perhaps builder used magic to strengthen it. This was some unwitnessed strength for ordinary beings.
“Even you…the son of a Demi-God, don’t have a way to destroy it? What about the wyrms? The Bronze dragon can, right?” Lu Li asked, unable to believe what he was hearing.
“You have to consider the builder of this portal. They were not any weaker than a wyrm, of course, apart from the strongest few, but there’s actually not that much of a difference between them. Also, building it cost the lives of countless Draenei.”
The builders of The Dark Portal were the strongest of the very few Demi-Gods born of ordinary beings. One of them was the last guardian who had the awareness of Sargeras, Medivh. The other was an Orc Warlock who was personally taught by Kil’jaeden, Gul’dan.
Five years before it was completed, Medivh, who had already been completely controlled by the will of Sargeras, used magic to establish a connection with the Draenor orc warlock, Gul’dan.
On that fertile land, Gul’dan promised to bring the Orcs which had already been infected by the Burning Legion to invade Azeroth. At this, in the remote lands that were called the Blasted Lands, Medivh used magic to create a portal generator, which was also the Dark Portal of today. Meanwhile, Gul’dan and his shadow Warlocks created another one in Draenor. Then, Medivh used his incomparable strength to tear through space, creating a rift to travel through between Azeroth and Draenor.

The rift in space gradually grew bigger and bigger, and Gul’dan continued optimizing it.
Finally, in the first year of the Dark Portal, Gul’dan successfully opened up a permanent way to travel through the two worlds. The first time The Dark Portal was opened up, Orcs rushed through like a flood and began to invade Azeroth. To ordinary beings, especially humans, this was where the history of Azeroth changed.
Within four years, Stormwind City fell into enemy hands.
The invasion of the Orcs caused massive destruction to human civilization. These guys who had suffered through the reformation of the Burning Legion had never heard of something called mercy. They rushed right into Azeroth, and left nothing for the humans except those nightmarish memories of blood and fire.
There were a few like Grom, who valued heroism more than glory and so spared the humans’ women and children, but unfortunately, most Orcs thought that the humans were not worthy of this.
The Orcs, who originally revered military might, under the influence of the Burning Legion, only became more and more bloodthirsty.
At this, the hatred between Orcs and humans was tied down.
“Why don’t you stand over there, your excellency Remulos?” Lu Li asked. He felt that this was incredibly important, or in other words, he had always been curious about this.
There were various Druids in the Moonlight Forest. It wasn’t just limited to the Alliance.
“To be fair, the war brought damage to both sides.”
With a wave of his hand, Remulous brought Lu Li to an unknown land.
Just when Lu Li was going to ask what place it was, the land suddenly transformed. Such a healthy, thriving planet had gradually declined.
“Most Orcs are crazy and bloodthirsty because they want to claim a piece of fertile land for their loved ones. Draenor had been pretty much turned into hell by Gul’dan ages ago,” Remulos sneered. “It was like when the humans attacked the trolls that year. Apart from the fact that the Burning Legion was involved, there was no difference…”
However, their habit of promoting a military spirit as well as their backwards knowledge of society meant that the Burning Legion had them where they wanted. In the end, they were controlled by the Burning Legion. This was where the Legion was being deceitful – they would allow the Orcs to get themselves killed, then in the end, they would reap the benefit as the third party. Perhaps some powerful orcs, like Grom, who were the cream of the crop and were therefore recognized by the Legion, would end up being added into their ranks. However, most Orcs were simply added to the Burning Legion as cannon fodder. Actually, they couldn’t even be considered cannon fodder, because Gul’dan was a selfish being who was too immersed in his own delusions.
But no matter what, the war had started, so nothing could be turned back. Humans could be said to hate Orcs to the bone, but in the end, they were a little more civilized and only turned the Orcs into slaves.
However, from today’s point of view, it could be said there was no mercy to speak of here. The work of a slave was far more grueling than many people were led to believe.
“Why are you letting me see this?” Lu Li asked, not understanding.
“My child, you should never think that you already see this world clearly,” Remulos sighed, as he brought Lu Li back to reality. “Now, I have a quest to give to you to do.”
