Chapter 134: Chapter 134 – Experience Rising Quickly

As Zhang Che still had no idea how the exotic beasts were distributed across this mountain range, nor did he know where the powerful exotic beasts would be moving about. He didn’t dare to go too deep in, despite riding on the Purple Jade Condor. He only dared to scout within several kilometers of the edge of the area, before finding a place to land.
This place was truly worthy of its reputation as “a paradise for the strong, and hell for the weak”.
During his scouting, Zhang Che saw a team of beastmasters suddenly ambushed by a few powerful exotic beasts while they were walking along a valley, resulting in one death and two injured in the blink of an eye.
In fact, those beastmasters weren’t weak, but they didn’t expect the exotic beasts to suddenly jump out from a tiny gap. As they were caught unprepared, it was inevitable that there were casualties among them.
Originally, Zhang Che was still considering whether he should go give them a hand, but he saw the remaining beastmasters immediately going into a defensive formation when they reacted to the situation, fully capable of fighting back, and thus dropped the thought.
Since he wasn’t needed, naturally he wouldn’t stick his finger into other people’s matters casually.
He wouldn’t be able to explain himself even with a few more mouths if he was misunderstood as trying to snatch their exotic beasts.
As such, Zhang Che didn’t care about what happened below any more, and had the Purple Jade Condor fly away. He chose a safe place to land and began his own hunt.
The mountain summits at the outskirts of the mountain range weren’t very tall, but due to their close proximity, narrow valleys could be seen everywhere.
Zhang Che was currently standing on a mountain waist, looking down at a deep, meandering valley below. His first target, or rather, his first group of targets, were wandering leisurely in that valley.
It was a group of dark-scaled lizard-like exotic beasts. Their bodies were huge, measuring over four meters long. The dark scales on their bodies were emitting a faint glow. Just one look at it and you could tell their levels weren’t low.

At the very least, this was a three-star exotic beast.
However, these huge lizards were gathered in quite a large group. Quality-wise, they shouldn’t be anything surprising, perhaps not even reaching silver-quality.
Even so, what Zhang Che fancied the most right now was exactly this kind of exotic beasts.
He wanted to rise to Tier Four as soon as possible, and for that he needed to kill large amounts of three-star or higher exotic beasts. Their quality couldn’t be too high, or he’d need too much time to hunt them. It wouldn’t be worth it, then.
As for getting more powerful beasts in his team, Zhang Che wasn’t worried about that at all.
When he rose to Tier Four, he would have the Scarlet Flame Drake by his side. He could totally explore deeper into this mountain range. It was rumored that powerful beasts roamed freely in there. At that time, even picking those that caught his eye would take up too much of his time.
Facing off against three-star or higher exotic beasts, the Original Combat Body-type subdued beasts he could bring out were a little embarrassing.
Other than the main pillar, the Purple Jade Condor, no matter if it was the Fiery Scorpion or Wind Shadow Wolf (Well, this fellow was originally forcefully retired by Zhang Che, but now that Zhang Che devoured the energy of the demonic flower, the size of his spiritual sea was expanded by half. Being able to employ four more subdued beasts, he could only bring it out of retirement since he had no other beasts to use), although their strength were higher than ordinary three-star bronze-quality beasts, that was only in one-on-one scenarios.
Under circumstances where he had to take on a whole group of exotic beasts in one go, those two fellows weren’t helpful in the least.
The Psychedelic Ghost-Patterned Butterfly, however, was different. Since its quality had risen to silver, as long as its opponents weren’t three-star silver-quality or higher, its confusion-inducing powder could still prove to be extremely useful.
Other than that… Zhang Che suddenly realized, he had no other usable Original Combat Body-type subdued beasts!
On the other hand, Zhang Che actually had a few other cards which were incomparably rare to other beastmasters, like weapon-type, armor-type, and fusion transformation-type beast cards!

“Should I be happy, or should I be happy?”
Although he should obviously be happy about this, at this moment, Zhang Che would rather have two more Original Combat Body-type subdued beasts at his side. This was a classic case of overwhelming defense and underwhelming offense.
Even so, things would get better. When Zhang Che rose to Tier Four, he would be able to use the Rock Tortoise and Scarlet Flame Drake. Things would turn for the better then! Helpless about it, Zhang Che could only console himself this way.
“Ah Zi, go feel out how strong those beasts are!”
The Purple Jade Condor took off from a rocky platform on the mountain waist after Zhang Che gave the order. It shot out like a bolt of purple lightning, quickly diving down to the valley below.
Zhang Che wasn’t idling about back on the mountain, either. He summoned both the Cold Abyss Flood Dragon and Gluttony Monkey. Although the former’s combat potential was largely restricted in such an environment, there wouldn’t be any problem for him insuring Zhang Che’s safety.
As for the frisky monkey, naturally he was wielding the Falling Star Model X, taking any opportunity that arose to shoot at the huge lizard’s vulnerable spots, like their eyes, and lighten the burden on the Purple Jade Condor.
It had to be mentioned that those huge lizards’ senses for danger was truly not bad. They were immediately alerted the instant the Purple Jade Condor dove towards the valley, raising their triangular heads one after another, flicking their long, thin tongues like snakes, focusing their cold gazes on the approaching Purple Jade Condor.
It was obvious that those fellows weren’t actually treating the Purple Jade Condor as much of a threat.
Zhang Che couldn’t be happier about this. He was afraid that those lizards would be too cowardly, escaping at the slightest threat into the caves in the or the gaps in the valley. The Purple Jade Condor wouldn’t be able to do a thing then.
Well, what need was there to feel them out now? Just attack them directly!
Under Zhang Che’s new order, the Purple Jade Condor let out a crisp cry as its wings emitted a bright glow. Its speed doubled, reaching directly above where the huge lizards were in an instant.
Snap! A huge lizard standing at the frontmost couldn’t dodge in time, its body was sliced in two from the neck down by the Purple Jade Condor’s left wing, quickly turning into a streak of light and dissipating.
==[You Killed a Dark-Scaled Lizard. Obtained 6 Points of Soul Force.]==
The beautiful sound of notification rang in Zhang Che’s mind. He couldn’t help but smile slightly. -Looks like I was right. These huge lizards are three-star bronze-quality exotic beasts.-
After that, Zhang Che felt as if an experience bar was filling up right before his eyes. As far as he could see, the group of lizards that numbered at least fifty didn’t try to escape at all. Instead, each of them were charging towards the Purple Jade Condor.
-Are those Dark-Scaled Lizards’ brains filled with glue or something!?-
Despite knowing that the powerful foe before them wasn’t something they could hope to match, they actually didn’t think to make a run for it, and instead rushed up to their deaths. Zhang Che was really, really happy about this!
What came after went without saying. Even if those Dark-Scaled Lizards tried to jump at the Purple Jade Condor to bite at it, or swing their tails, they were unable to block the Purple Jade Condor’s skill effectively.
What a joke! The Purple Jade Condor was a three-star dark gold-quality powerful beast! Those Dark-Scaled Lizards were merely bronze-quality. There was a difference of three quality tiers between them! It would truly be strange if they could still cause trouble for the Purple Jade Condor.
Zhang Che could only hear snapping sounds ringing out endlessly. Dark-Scaled Lizards fell one after another, their bodies tragically sliced in half. Some of them turned into streaks of light and dissipated, while some turned into a bronze beast cards. They weren’t even able to make the Purple Jade Condor break a sweat.
Watching the Dark-Scaled Lizards charge to their valiant deaths, Zhang Che couldn’t help but feel doubtful, in addition to his excitement.
-Could there really be exotic beasts that aren’t afraid of death?-
