Chapter 295: The More Bountiful, The More Heartache
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
Edited by Aelryinth
“@#¥%&*&%¥#@!” The black man stood back up, staggering, looking at Zhang Che with a gaze that had seen past life and death.
-Did you think that by torturing me, I will hand over the beast card obediently?
-No way in hell!
-I don’t give in that easily!-
The Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus rushed up with long strides, perfectly twisting his waist and spinning around once more, slamming his thick tail into the side of the black man’s head and sending him flying.
This time, the Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus used thirty percent of his strength, sending that guy flying a few dozen meters away, and he tumbled along the ground for another dozen or so meters, before knocking his head into a huge pale grey rock and stopping.
That rock, however, directly shattered from the impact, and buried half of the man’s body under it in the end. Only his feet remained in Zhang Che’s sight.
This time, he finally stopped moving.
That whip from the Steel-Armored Tyrannosaurus contained over ten tons of force behind it. Even a vehicle would be flattened from that impact, and yet it only managed to barely knock this guy out. It went to show how tough that set of legend-quality armor’s defense was.
“You’ve finally fainted. How stubborn!” Zhang Che huffed. He walked towards the black man quickly, a golden ray of light flying out from between his brows, turning into a big butterfly with weird patterns on it.
-Heh heh, no matter how strong your will is, the Psychedelic Ghost-Patterned Butterfly will turn you obedient once you are unconscious!-
The Psychedelic Ghost-Patterned Butterfly activated its Enchant skill. The unguarded and unconscious black man was immediately bound by the spell, but didn’t wake up immediately. Instead, he remained buried under the pile of rocks.
Zhang Che, who was experienced at all this, wasn’t worried at all. He sent a signal to the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon at the side with his gaze. The latter quickly rushed forward and grabbed hold of that man’s legs with his claws, directly pulling him out from the debris, then lifted him off the ground and upside down, shaking him.
The black man finally regained consciousness, albeit not with a clear mind. He struggled for a little while, and although his eyes were open, they weren’t focused at all.

This was because the Psychedelic Ghost-Patterned Butterfly had him under control with its skill.
Zhang Che immediately yelled out those words he had worked so hard practicing. In the next moment, the purple-golden armor immediately dissolved into a mass of five-colored light and flew back into the man’s spiritual sea. At the same time, an object hidden at his neck under his clothing also quickly turned into a dark golden ray of light and returned to his spiritual sea.
Immediately afterwards, two rays of light shot out from between the man’s brow once more, but this time they materialized into two beast cards, and were caught in Zhang Che’s hand.
Looking at the dazed black man, Zhang Che let out a sigh. He turned around and walked away as a scarlet streak of light flashed past him, followed by a dark head falling through the air.
Zhang Che first set his gaze on the dark golden beast card. It was in the form of a spatial storage equipment, hidden on the man’s chest, and he hadn’t known it was there.
Fortunately, this spatial-type card, known as a Meso Worm, was only at five-star, which he could use. If it was a six-star card, he would only be able to stare at it, unable to check what was stored inside its spatial dimension.
After successfully triggering a spiritual resonance with it, Zhang Che immediately stowed it in his spiritual sea and branded his spiritual imprint onto it. Afterwards, he summoned it back out, taking the form of a thumb-sized white worm amulet with a weird shape.
Zhang Che sent his mental energy into it to take a look, and his eyes immediately widened.
The amount of space inside this spatial-type equipment wasn’t very different from the long worm-shaped bracelet Huang Juyun had given him. After all, they were both at five-star dark gold-quality. Under usual circumstances, the size of the storage space wouldn’t exceed a certain range.
What surprised Zhang Che was that in the fifty cubic meters or so worth of space in that spatial-type equipment card, were filled with all kinds of rare minerals.
Although there weren’t many kinds of minerals in there that were as valuable as purple-gold crystals, they were lots of them. Their total value was comparable to about a dozen tons of purple-gold!

He could only imagine how many beastmasters they had robbed to amass this much stuff. There would certainly be quite a bit of resources in the spatial-type equipments of those other beastmasters he had killed, too!
Alas, as they had met their ends, those resources were left behind in the sub-dimensions of their beast cards, unable to be retrieved.
Zhang Che felt his heart aching once he thought of that.
-How much freaking money was that!?-
Regrettably, during the situation earlier, Zhang Che could only choose to leave that commanding black man behind. He had to kill off the others quickly. Otherwise, if any of them escaped, they would surely become a huge headache for him in the future.
After all, they had seen Zhang Che’s iconic beasts. It was without a doubt that every one of them had influential backers behind them. If they investigated seriously, they would find out his identity very quickly.
“This truly is painful bliss!”
Zhang Che threw the peculiar spatial storage equipment to the Purple Crystal Tortoise, then turned his gaze towards the remaining five-colored beast card with six hexagrams in his hand.
It was certain that the monetary worth of this beast card was lower than the resources in the spatial storage equipment, but to Zhang Che, this beast card had a higher value.
A mid-tier legend-quality defensive beast card was simply a treasure with demand, but no supply. You might not necessarily find one no matter how much money you offered. This kind of equipment could very well save someone’s life at crucial moments!
He could tell how terrifyingly tough the defense of this thing was from how relatively uninjured the black man was after being struck a few times.

“This is good stuff! Too bad I can only use it after reaching Tier Six. Looks like I have to make a trip to the depths of the beast world again after leaving the secret plane to level up…” Zhang Che couldn’t help but sigh even though he had already seen the attributes of this card earlier, feeling regretful over his inability to immediately put on such a tough beast card armor.
At present, Zhang Che didn’t have a proper beast card armor. Although the Seven-Star Silver Worm was dark gold-quality, its level was a little too low, after all. It wouldn’t be able to put up much of a defense against stronger enemies.
On the other hand, although the Purple Crystal Tortoise’s defense was amazing, that fellow wasn’t a defensive equipment-type subdued beast. It would only provide Zhang Che with super strong defense for a short duration of one hour after activating its skill.
After that hour passed, he would become vulnerable. It would be too dangerous when he encountered truly powerful enemies.
This Purple-Gold Demonic Armored Worm was different, however. Although its overall defense wasn’t as great as the Purple Crystal Tortoise (Which was a given. Although the Purple Crystal Tortoise was two level ranks lower, the rainbow crystal played a part during its advancement and directly consumed a mountain’s worth of purple-gold crystals, turning into a unique existence. It’s abilities couldn’t be measured by normal standards) it was a proper defensive equipment-type beast card, and could be worn all the time.
Moreover, the defense of this beast card was very balanced, providing strong defenses against both physical and elemental attacks. When facing exotic beasts who excelled in elemental attacks, it could even defend against all non-divine-quality elemental attacks after activating its skill!
“Ai, who knows when will I advance to Tier Six, and how many exotic beasts I have to kill to achieve that? How depressing…” Zhang Che sighed. He could only throw the beast card to the Purple Crystal Tortoise.
After that, he thought of those people he just killed. There were over ten legend-quality subdued beasts, not to mention their spatial equipment beast cards and the unknown amount of resources contained in them…
-Why does my heart ache more the more bountiful it is…-
