Chapter 361: Jet-style Flying Snake
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
Edited by Aelryinth
As the distance between them and the little crystal snake shrank bit by bit, Zhang Che suddenly heard a strange noise.
He didn’t know how to describe that sound. It was like a tire leaking air. The noise produced wasn’t loud, but a little sharp.
“Strange. What’s that noise?” Zhang Che perked his ears up to listen closely. Afterwards, his eyes widened uncontrollably.
That noise actually came from the crystal snake ahead!
-How strange!-
Zhang Che couldn’t help but grow even more interested in that snake. He had the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon continue chasing, hellbent on capturing that snake. He wanted to see exactly what species it was.
The crystal snake was escaping quickly. Before he knew it, Zhang Che had chased it a few hundred kilometers into the mountain range.
“Heh, this little thing can really run!” Zhang Che felt that he had never encountered such a slippery exotic beast, leading him on a chase for a few hundred kilometers.
It was only then that he realized the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon being faster than that snake was only his own imagination.
“Could this snake be luring me?”
Zhang Che suddenly thought of that possibility. He felt a chill inside and hurriedly ordered the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to stop. Afterwards, he looked to his surroundings warily, but he didn’t discover anything.
-That’s strange!-
Seeing Zhang Che had stopped, the crystal snake suddenly reduced its speed too. It slithered about, looking back and taunting Zhang Che, as if saying “Continue chasing me if you dare! You’re a dog if you don’t!”
Zhang Che looked on coldly, not falling for its trick.
He felt that this crystal snake wasn’t simple. It was better for him to make better use of the time to hunt the storage-type exotic beasts.

Thinking of that, he had the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon immediately turned around and flew off in another direction.
At this moment, streak after streak of white silhouettes shot out from the nearby forest, quickly surrounding them. After looking closely, he realized they were actually all little snakes flying in the air!
However, those flying snakes’ bodies weren’t fully crystallized. They looked to be sculpted from a kind of murky crystal.
“Heh, I didn’t expect that crystal snake to really be baiting me!” Zhang Che’s pupils shrank, but he wasn’t afraid.
He could sense that those flying snakes weren’t very strong. Even that crystal snake was only faster and more agile. As for its attacking power, it shouldn’t be anything terrifying.
Just as he was thinking that, Zhang Che immediately saw for himself how powerful those flying snakes were in the next moment!
As close to a hundred flying snakes closed in on him, barely two hundred meters away from him, they suddenly opened their mouths one after another, shooting out a tiny black dot of light simultaneously.
“What kind of an attack is that?” Zhang Che was a little confused. He truly couldn’t feel any threat from those dots of light, nor could he understand what exactly those black dots of light were.
However, a tremendous change suddenly happened in the next moment.
The black dots of light didn’t shoot towards Zhang Che. Instead, they quickly gathered somewhere, and they formed a black ball of light about the size of a face basin in the end.
Just as the black ball of light was formed, a terrifying suction suddenly erupted from inside of it, trying to draw Zhang Che and the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon inside.
Zhang Che’s complexion fell right away. It wasn’t because of the peculiarity of the ball of light; the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon could totally resist the suction. Instead, the strange energy emitting from the inside of the ball of light reminded him of the black door that sucked him into the spatial tunnel.

There were too many similarities between them!
-Could it be that these strange flying snakes aren’t from the beast world?-
-No, no. Although the two are similar, it was only limited to the energy they used. Their natures are hugely different.-
Zhang Che ordered the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to fly to the side, his eyes staring at the face basin-sized black ball of light, and breathing a sigh of relief.
It was fine as long as it wasn’t related to the mysterious force behind the demonic flower.
In that case, it was very obvious that these flying snakes were a kind of exotic beasts with a spatial-attributed attacking skill, and their skills could be stacked with one another, unleashing much greater power.
Thinking up until that point, Zhang Che felt shocked.
If those small fries were this powerful already, then what about that crystal snake?
Zhang Che suddenly heard a sound resembling air leaking from tire from behind him. He quickly turned around and saw the crystal snake had come within a hundred meters without him realizing it. At this moment, it opened its mouth and similarly spat out a black dot of light.
The black dot of light was like a balloon, expanding as it met the wind, instantly becoming a ball of light as big as a face basin. It echoed what the ball of light the group of small fries created with their combined strength were doing, quickly flying towards Zhang Che.
“Retreat, retreat!” Zhang Che, who had already seen the crystal snake’s attributes, hurriedly gave the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon the order to run, not daring to get close to the two black balls.
After learning the crystal snake’s attributes, Zhang Che tried to avoid it like a plague. He wouldn’t dare allow them to get close to him!
The Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon sensed his fear. His slender body twisted in the air and immediately brought out his fastest speed, flying towards the other side of the mountain range. From time to time, the dragon would activate his Darkfiend Cold Energy Wave skill, shrouding the group of little flying snakes behind them.
Those little flying snakes were obviously very apprehensive of the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon’s skill. As the wave of cold energy swept towards them, they were like frightened fish, quickly scattering.
The two balls of light, however, continued flying ahead without reservations, chasing after the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon by relying on the force between the two.
“My god, this time I’ve really hit the jackpot!”
While directing the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to dodge, Zhang Che was feeling ecstatic inside. He didn’t expect such great luck!
He immediately felt his heart tingling when he thought of the crystal snake’s attributes.

The Emperor's Chef
"Cook like your life depends on it, kid. Because it does." Charles had an enviable future lined up for him. Training from the age of five by some of the finest chefs in the world. Schooling at a top culinary academy in the capital. An honorable position as heir to House Boulier, a line of merchant-lords who have charmed the rich and powerful with their cooking for centuries. And in a single night, it all burned to ash. When the outbreak of war destroys his hometown, Charles is charged with escorting his family’s sacred treasure—a recipe book passed down for untold generations—out of harm's way. But his simple mission grows complicated when he’s captured by one of the most feared battalions in the world: the Spears of Mercy. Life as a prisoner in their war camp is brutal and uncertain. Charles has few allies and even fewer strengths to rely on. Only his skills in the culinary arts, honed over a lifetime in the kitchen, are deemed useful enough to keep him alive another day. But he’s not out of hope just yet. With a dash of wit, a pinch of luck, and some very creative cooking, he might just find a way to recover his family’s legacy and take back his freedom. This project is a food-themed fantasy that centers on cooking and chefs. The setting spans a wide world featuring ingredients/recipes both real and inspired by traditional fantasy. I'll eventually be publishing it as a full-length novel (or series of novels depending on length). These are the first draft chapters. I'll likely be re-writing more than once, then editing before publishing, so impressions and feedback are quite welcome. If you like the story so far and you're interested in being an early reviewer for the final product, feel free to message me. I'm looking for an artist to make some concept art and a cover (the cover shown here is just a temporary placeholder). A stand-alone novel for now, but it may turn into a series down the road.

The Cosmic and the Fair
When magic comes crashing into the world, humans are swept away. When they come trickling back, they are changed. Many of them have been transformed into elves, dwarves, trolls... and now one succubus. Magic is wondrous, dangerous, and inextricably linked to all living things. But succubi have to take it from other people, and for a succubus dropped far away from any communities big enough to sustain her, that's a problem. Luckily for Persephone Evans, she's got help. She has a fancy unique class and a companion. But both gifts come with strings attached, and why did she have to teach the succubus on her shoulder what 'consent' means? This is my first story! Note: The prologue differs wildly in tone from the rest of the story. I'm playing it safe on the tags. I don't think the story really deserves the profanity or gore content warnings, but the main character does swear and get hurt. That said, the main character is a succubus. Sexual content is a given.
