Chapter 573: Heading Off to Bei Mei Region Once More
Edited by Aelryinth
After spending a few days at Xinjing, the herbal research institute still had no progress on their study of the rainbow spiritual fruit. After all, a herb of that grade was something they had never seen before. There was nothing they could use to cross reference with. It was indeed difficult to make any progress.
On the day of his arrival at Xinjing, Zhang Che had informed Huang Tielan, telling her to start preparing the ingredients for concocting of the Seven Star Silver Beetle beast card’s cultivation fluid. He’d return immediately once he was done with the matters here to level-up the card, which was severely lacking in that regard.
There weren’t too many things to do at Xinjing City. On the third of February, Zhang Che flew back to Bei Duin Dijiang-hao.
He returned excitedly, but he saw Huang Tielan looking down. After asking her, he found out they were actually lacking two ingredients for concocting the Seven Star Silver Beetle’s cultivation fluid. They couldn’t be found in the market.
Not only that, Huang Tielan even went to the large stores to ask around. No one had heard of those two ingredients before.
With that, Zhang Che’s plans had fallen through.
“It’s fine, Zhang Xiaoche. I’ll be staying in the city most of the time, anyway. I won’t be in any danger. As for the ingredients, we can slowly look for them. Given how big Hua Xia is, I don’t believe we can’t find two ingredients. If worse comes to worst, we’ll set up a bounty for them across all of Mercury!”
Zhang Che looked regretful, but Huang Tielan was optimistic about it and quickly consoled him. It was as she had said. She would be in the city all the time, with little opportunity to go out.
Not only that, ever since the assassination attempt by the Freemasons in the beast world, the Huang family had arranged a team of powerful high-tier beastmasters to protect her in the dark. No one could hope to hurt a single hair on her head, unless they were absolute top-tier experts.

Zhang Che could only let this matter go after hearing her putting things that way.
From the looks of it, it’d be very difficult to level up the Seven Star Silver Beetle armor in the near future. After all, the Bei Du metropolitan area had the highest population in Hua Xia, and was also the place with the most experts, yet they couldn’t find the two ingredients on the market. As such, their chances of finding the two missing ingredients from other places were very low.
At that thought, Zhang Che couldn’t help but worry.
It was already so difficult to find the key ingredients in concocting the cultivation fluid for a mere Seven Star Silver Beetle. What about his stronger subdued beasts?
From the looks of it, it’d be extremely difficult to raise all his subdued beasts to the peak of their potential within three years!
Fortunately, Zhang Che had a few very powerful pets.
Those guys didn’t need cultivation fluid. As long as there were large amounts of high-tier exotic beasts of the same attribute to consume, in addition to high-grade herbs, they were much faster at advancing than subdued beasts.
Zhang Che shook his head to get rid of his chaotic thoughts. He decided to accompany Huang Tielan to shop around in the streets. After some time, the two couldn’t hold it in and went to a hotel, booked a room for a short time and proceeded to engage in some indescribable activities.
They’d had their first taste of the forbidden fruit. Naturally they were very passionate about it.
—
When they came out from the hotel, it was already evening.
Although it was slowly approaching spring, under the influence of the strange weather, the temperature outdoors in Bei Du was still unbearably cold.
Beastmasters, whose physiques were modified by their soul force, had it a little better. The common people, on the other hand, couldn’t stand the frosty wind, no matter how much they had covered themselves.
Even so, the traffic on Bei Du’s streets in the evening was still quite busy. It went to show that this was the core of Hua Xia, and how concentrated the beastmasters were in Bei Du!

The next morning, when Zhang Che woke up, he didn’t forget what happened yesterday.
He suddenly doubted whether He Luotu, who he had killed above the sea, was really the only demon spy on Mercury.
Did this demon who had possessed the president of the Freemasons really have no contact with the other demons?
Zhang Che felt like this was absolutely impossible.
-Maybe I’m already on a blacklist of the demon spies. Perhaps they’re already planning how to eliminate me!
-Looks like Miss Tienan is urgently in need of a high-quality beast card armor to protect herself. This isn’t something that can be put off, even though the Huang family has arranged for people to protect her in the dark…-
Zhang Che was still worried. He deeply understood that nothing was more reliable than individual strength to a beastmaster.
As such, he went to look for Huang Tielan after eating breakfast and talked to her about this matter.
“Ah? You want to go to the Bei Mei region? Isn’t that too dangerous?” Huang Tielan turned pale when she heard Zhang Che saying he wanted to go to the Bei Mei region to hunt a high-tier beast card armor.
He had already considered things. If he wanted a beast card armor with outstanding defense, his best bet was probably the dinosaur-like exotic beasts. Those fellows had left a very deep impression on him back then.
Thinking back, he should have the strength to hunt those exotic beasts now. It was no harm to make this trip.
“No, no, no, Zhang Xiaoche. I’d rather not have beast card armor now than let you take the risk. It’s too dangerous over there! Moreover, you’ve offended a large faction over there; they’ll surely try to ambush you once they find out that you went to the Bei Mei region!
“You’re not familiar with the place nor the people. We can’t help you if anything happens!”
Huang Tielan’s stance on this was unusually firm. She wouldn’t let Zhang Che make a trip to the Bei Mei region for that reason. no matter what.
After all, Zhang Che had set up a large faction viciously, and stolen their years of research results. If they learned what he was doing, they’d definitely go kill him, no matter the cost!
Zhang Che waited for Huang Tielan to finish talking, then smiled faintly and explained, “Don’t worry. I have another way to go over. I won’t be piloting Dijiang-hao. That way, I’ll enter the beast world directly once I arrive. They won’t discover me.”
Seeing Zhang Che insisting repeatedly, Huang Tielan finally softened her stance and didn’t continue stopping him. Instead, she kept reminding him to be careful, and said that she didn’t want to become a widow before even marrying him.
Of course, her final nagging was met with Zhang Che’s severe punishment. If it wasn’t because there were others in the house, she wouldn’t be spared a round of physical torture.
——
Huang Juyun learned of Zhang Che’s decision immediately. His reaction was almost identical to Huang Tielan’s, not agreeing with Zhang Che going to the Bei Mei region all of a sudden. After all, the clan’s influence over there was too weak. They couldn’t protect him properly. It would be terrible if anything happened!
Zhang Che was helpless about it, and had no choice but to explain his decision once more, finally convincing his future father-in-law after much difficulty. In the end, he let out a long sigh of relief.
—
At noon, Zhang Che left Bei Du stealthily. He didn’t pilot Dijiang-hao, nor did he show his true appearance. He didn’t appear in his past life’s appearance as Sun Che, either. Instead, he transformed into an ordinary-looking middle-aged man and flew northeast to Bangziguo on his flying subdued beast. {TLN: Korea.}
At Bangziguo, Zhang Che picked out a target and obtained their personal information, then took a commercial sky shuttle in their name to the Bei Mei region.
After a few months, he was setting foot in this land once more!
