"Talk about having delusions, she needs help!" When the recording stopped, everyone gasped in disbelief. Their sympathetic gazes they had for Laurel Wang immediately changed into disgust.

The voice of the woman was clearly Laurel Wang. Her reaction confirmed it yet, she had the audacity to lie to everyone's faces? The nerve!

They could not believe that they fell for her victim act. Therefore, instead of blaming themselves for falling into her lies, everyone silently pushed the blame against Laurel Wang for deceiving them.

Although the confirmation they expected from Laurel Wang and Ethan Lu wasn't what they witnessed, unraveling Laurel Wang's malicious ploy was something else. It was a better and more interesting content.

"Mr. Lu! Please Miss Wang did nothing wrong! It's all my fault!" Ethan Lu's look-alike immediately knelt to the floor as he exclaimed, taking all the shots.

Little did he know, his heroism wouldn't matter in the eyes of these elites. They gave not even a slight sympathy for him as they all saw Laurel Wang and the man as disgusting cons.

"Ay! Miss Wang, I can't believe my ears!" As Ethan Lu both stared down at the two on the floor, Zack Lee clicked his tongue in annoyance. "How did Senator Wang raised his daughter? Damn... how nasty." Sharing the same displeasure like everyone else, Zack Lee didn't filter his words as he spoke his mind.

Zack Lee had always looked up to Ethan Lu. He could say that Ethan Lu was his idol. After all, Ethan Lu was just two years older than him yet, he led the enormous Lu Corporation to greater heights the Lu family couldn't reach in the past.

The Lu Corporation had always been one of the biggest company in the country. However, when Ethan Lu took over, the Lu Corporation became the leading company — surpassing the Liu Empire.

As a real admirer, Zack Lee found more pleasure in challenging Ethan Lu. Even if it wasn't in the business affairs, how nice would it be to defeat him in another field? After all, both of them were notorious for their relationship history.

However, just as he thought it was good to use Laurel Wang, she disappointed him gravely. In the end, Laurel Wang's presence tonight was still useless.

Diane Huang felt disgusted that she invited someone like Laurel Wang. Diane Huang knew that everyone had their own nasty side. However, none of them failed to hide it.

Too bad for Laurel Wang, she got herself in a deep hole. Now, all of them hypocrites would see her as someone they wouldn't want to be friends with. This would also apply to Laurel Wang's father, who was still oblivious of this.

"I can't believe that you can do this thing. Get out of my party now." Every passing second that Diane Huang see Laurel Wang, or even feel her presence, she felt she would contract a disease. Hence, she heartlessly scooted the woman away, completely making Laurel Wang lose her face.

Yet, no one showed Laurel Wang a pity. Rather, everyone acted as if Laurel Wang was some kind of virus.

"I... no..." unaware, Laurel Wang's eyes shed tears as she raised her head to look at Ethan Lu's cold eyes. "Ethan, why...?" Weak and barely audible, Laurel Wang whispered.

"I did what I did because I know you never liked her. You were just using her, right? Because she's Mr. Liu's former fiancee — why can't you see me? You won't have any problems if you're with me!" From weak murmurs to hysterical shouts, Laurel Wang seemed her sanity snapped.

She took aggressive strides towards Ethan Lu. Fortunately, Lyrick Jiang and Jarred Guo were on standby, hence, they stopped Laurel Wang from approaching Ethan Lu.

"Oh, my gosh! She lost it!"

"This is getting scary!"

"She lost it? Don't you think acting crazy is not a safe route? A psychiatric ward is better than jail."

"Well, she made everyone believe that Mr. Lu was that kind of person. I won't be surprised if she's faking everything."

Lexi heard the whispers and opinions around Laurel Wang while Lyrick Jiang and Jarred Guo restrained the hysterical Laurel Wang. She could not help her hands but clench.

These people... everyone in this place were cruel. Lexi wasn't saying she's a saint herself. However, they were hypocrites. In her mind, she could not understand that they kept on leaving hurtful remarks.

Can't they just keep their thoughts to themselves? Alas, perhaps, Lexi was just being too sensitive after being used to a peaceful life for two years.

On the other hand, Ethan Lu slowly opened his lips, but he closed them again. He wanted to say something to Laurel Wang. However, he decided not to.

With that said note, Laurel Wang, and the man were escorted out of the event hall. Lyrick Jiang and Jarred Guo were supposed to take the backdoor. However, just before they did, Diane Huang's bodyguards assisted them to the main entrance; the way where all media people were waiting for gossip.

Both Ethan Lu's subordinates didn't have a choice as they watched the two be the sacrifice tonight; a sacrifice for a good headline tomorrow.
