Chapter 417: The Descendants of the Godly Axe Mountain
Carrying Teng Qingshan on his back, the Blue Luan flew towards the Ox-Head Mountains in the north. The Blue Luan was obviously not afraid to face Tianfeng Martial immortal, it was rather excited.
Within the Ox-Head Mountains:
“Whiz! Whiz! Whiz!”
The Tianfeng Martial Immortal morphed into a phantom, flying through the trees in Ox-Head Mountains. Running on his toes, he flew from one treetop to another. He then jumped and landed on the back of a large, gray eagle while screeching.
Although the gray eagle is considered a ferocious beast, it is not a demonic beast, thus its intelligence is low.
As the Tianfeng Martial Immortal had immense power and understood the language of beasts, this gray eagle became his temporary ride without conflict.
“Whoosh!”
Streaks of shimmering silver light surrounded the eagle, increasing its speed to ten times above the limits of the eagle. It became nearly as fast as some Golden Dan innate avian demonic beasts.
“How slow!” complained the Tianfeng Martial Immortal. “Even with my assistance, you are this slow! If only Snow Feathered Condor was still alive… I would use the power of the earth and sky to assist it. With the Snow Feathered Condor’s speed, I could definitely catch up with that Fiery Blaze Weird Bird.”
“Helian, it seems you’re always riding on top of a bird when we meet.” A clear and bright laughter echoed.
Carrying an enormous wolf-headed war saber on his back, the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal looked up at Tianfeng Martial Immortal with a fiery gaze.
“Hmph.” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal looked at him and scoffed. “What? Would you also like to ride on a bird and feel what it’s like to fly through the air? Unfortunately for you, beast language can only be taught to the members of my clan. If not, considering our friendship of over hundreds of years, I would teach you.”
The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal grinned. “I don’t care about your bullshit beast language. But, as for the Nine Leaf Red Lotus, I think it would be best if you didn’t try to hog it.”
Although the two were far apart from each other, they could hear each other loud and clear.
However, the Martial Saints far away were unable to hear them.
“Haha, first come first serve!” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal sneered. “Why? Do you want it? Just let me use the Divine Thunder Blade of the Duanmu Clan for a few years and I will share a few of my nine lotus seeds with you.
“What an arrogant tone you have.”
The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed. “You are unfit to look at the Divine Thunder Blade of my ancestors. As far as I know, you were unable to defeat Teng Qingshan earlier. How unfortunate that you could not kill him this time. In the future, while I am around, you won’t have another chance.”
“What do you mean?” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal asked, his expression frozen.
“Teng Qingshan is a good friend of mine. Considering how fast he is improving, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were to become a catastrophe for your clan in the near future.” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal said, clicking his tongue.

The Tianfeng Martial Immortal’s expression was as hard as stone.
“I am not greedy; out of the nine lotus seeds, I only want four. In exchange, when the time comes, I will ask Teng Qingshan to be merciful and only find you for revenge.” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed. However, the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal was exaggerating.
After being in contact with Teng Qingshan, he realized that Teng Qingshan isn’t a person with wild ambitions. Moreover, if he were to seek revenge, he would not go so far as to destroy the ordinary people of the Tianfeng Clan.
He merely exaggerated for his own convenience. The Tianfeng Martial Immortal knows nothing about Teng Qingshan’s personality anyway.
“Haha…. Have mercy?”
The Tianfeng Martial Immortal laughed angrily. “Dream on! Tianfeng Clan has stood upon Duanmu Continent for over a thousand years. Who would dare to threaten my clan? Hmph, with our ability to ride birds, the warriors of Tianfeng Clan can fly through the clouds with ease. Anyone who dares provoke my clan only invites destruction onto themselves.”
“Old man, you want the Blazing Flame Seeds? Come get them yourself!” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal snorted. He then began to leave.
“Tianfeng Martial Immortal, hold it right there!”
A loud roar rang through the air.
From the south, the Blue Luan flew towards the two martial immortals. Teng Qingshan held Li Jun carefully in his arms as they sat on the Blue Luan. On his shoulders, he carried a metal box.
“How dare you come!” growled the Tianfeng Martial Immortal, his gaze frozen on Teng Qingshan.
“Haha, Qingshan, you’ve managed to come!” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed.
On the ground, the eyes of Mu Wang, Fu Dao, and the other martial saints shone.
“Why wouldn’t I dare to come?” Teng Qingshan glanced at the Tianfeng Martial Immortal’s ride. He couldn’t help smiling. “As expected of the powerful Tianfeng Martial Immortal; you found a new ride so quickly.” Hearing this, the Tianfeng Martial Immortal’s face changed. After all, he is riding on an ordinary beast.
If this news were to spread, it would be quite embarrassing.
“Qingshan, come over here next to me. He can’t hurt you.” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed. The Tianfeng Martial Immortal stared at them coldly without a word.
Speaking of strength…
He is indeed a bit weaker than the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal. However, with his flying beast, he can easily avoid the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal’s attacks.
“Senior!” Teng Qingshan descended the Blue Luan.
“Senior! Li Jun has been poisoned by Tianfeng Clan’s Century of Sleep poison. Does Senior know of an antidote for this poison?” Teng Qingshan set aside the metal case on his shoulders and carried Li Jun on his back.
“Antidote? I know of it.” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal smiled, nodding his head. “After living this long, I’ve seen pretty much everything.”
“Senior, please take a look for me. Would this be the antidote?” Teng Qingshan said, taking out a dark green pill.
Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal took the pill and sniffed it. He smiled and shook his head. “This is not it. The real antidote should have a faint, but pungent smell.”

“So it’s fake.” Teng Qingshan looked around helplessly. Yet Helian Haoyan, the Steel Sword Martial Saint who lost his arm, had already left.
“Tianfeng Martial Immortal!” Teng Qingshan raised his head, looking at the silver haired man in a black robe on the back of a gray eagle. He screamed enraged, “If the Tianfeng Clan used force to take away the Blazing Flame Red Lotus, I would have nothing to say. However, your disciple, Helian Haoyan, used poison and then threatened me to hand over the Blazing Flame Red Lotus. Now, you already have the Blazing Flame Red Lotus. As for the antidote for the poison….” Teng Qingshan’s sentence trailed off.
“Haha….” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal laughed mockingly in midair.
“Kid!”
The Tianfeng Martial Immortal stared down coldly at Teng Qingshan. “Who do you think you are, talking to me in this way! Hmph! The old man next to you is strong, but what about you? You couldn’t even stand against a single attack from me! Earlier, you kept me from leaving, and now you are asking for the antidote? Haha! How utterly ridiculous!”
As he finished speaking, he started to leave.
“Tianfeng Martial Immortal, what are you so proud of? How can you still be so proud when you are riding on a mere gray eagle?” Teng Qingshan said angrily.
Hearing this, the Tianfeng Martial Immortal, who had already flown quite far, stopped immediately. He turned and looked down at Teng Qingshan below him, scowling.
“Hmph, Tianfeng Martial Immortal, listen up!” Teng Qingshan said coldly. “Send an antidote for the poison to the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal in ten days. Or else…”
“Or else what?” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal asked with a mocking grin on his face.
“Hmph!”
Teng Qingshan gently stroked Blue Luan’s feathers. “Or else, I, Teng Qingshan hereby vow to burn Helian Clan’s inner city. Unless your Helian Clan’s warriors are by your side everyday, I will kill each and everyone of them that comes out.”
Tianfeng Martial Immortal raised his eyebrow. A look of dread appeared on his face. “How outrageous!”
“See if I dare!” Teng Qingshan stared back coldly at Tianfeng Martial Immortal.
The Tianfeng Martial Immortal remained in midair, his eyebrows raised in anger. What kind of status does he possess? When did he fall down to such a state? If the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal threatened him, he could threaten the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal. However, Teng Qingshan has no known clan and only a few people were on good terms with him.
Furthermore…
Teng Qingshan poses a threat.
The Blue Luan’s speed is much faster than ordinary flying beasts. If the Snow Feathered Condor were alive, it would be possible to match the Blue Luan’s speed. But now it’s impossible. After all, such avian demonic beasts are rare in Duanmu Continent. To find and tame a golden dan innate avian demonic beast is nearly impossible.
After all, if the Tianfeng Martial Immortal is unable to capture a Golden Dan Innate avian demonic beast, naturally he is also unable to tame one.
“Hmph!” The Tianfeng Martial Immortal snorted as he turned to leave.
Teng Qingshan’s expression changed.
But at this moment…
“Kid, you are truly vicious. In ten days, I will send the antidote to the Dreamy Cloud ancient city.” A voice suddenly sounded next to Teng Qingshan’s ears. The Tianfeng Martial Immortal was using the Sound Transmitting Art, wary that others might hear it and he might lose his reputation.
A smile appeared on Teng Qingshan’s face.
“Haha, Qingshan, looks like even a guy like Helian has given in to you.” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed.
“Give in? I am just a man with nothing to lose.” Teng Qingshan shook his head and smiled bitterly.
After battling Tianfeng Martial Immortal, Teng Qingshan realized the large gap in strength between the two of them.
At this moment, seeing the Tianfeng Martial Immortal leave, the Rising Sun Martial Saint Mu Wang and Fu Dao walked over. Fu Dao practiced the Thunder Blade Art, which was related to the Mu Clan.
“Master.” Mu Wang greeted the Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal.
“Senior.” Fu Dao also greeted.
The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal nodded his head, and then turned to Teng Qingshan. Laughing, he said, “Qingshan, how do you feel after battling Tianfeng Martial Immortal this time.”
“There is a huge gap.”
“Yes, I remember you were looking for the Thirty-six stone inscriptions of the Splitting Mountain Forms. Did that help with your training?” The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal asked. Teng Qingshan nodded without hesitation, “That is, afterall, an axe art left by left by the Godly Axe Deity. It really helped a lot in my understanding of the Dao of Heavens.”
The Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal looked at Fu Dao and said, “Fu Dao, Qingshan lent the Fu clan a big hand this time. With the power of the small soldiers from the Fu clan, the fact that you were able to get 10% of the Fiery Gilt Steel Ores is already considered good. You should now return the favor.”
Startled and hesitant, Fu Dao looked at Teng Qingshan, carefully thinking.
“Return the favor?” Teng Qingshan was confused.
Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed. “Last time, when we obtained Fiery Gilt Steel Ores, you did most of the work. Yunji only wanted to invite you at that time...As for the Fu Clan, they were only able to join the alliance because of you. The twenty thousand soldiers of the newly risen Fu Clan wouldn’t be of much use during the struggle. However, the Divine Blade Guardians of Fu Clan were not bad.
Teng Qingshan nodded.
“Sir, other than the one we lent to you, we still have five more stone inscriptions of the 《Thirty-six Splitting Mountain Forms》.” Fu Dao laughed, “How about I lend them all to you?”
“Five?” Teng Qingshan said, shocked.
Even the Mu Clan only has six, a small family like the Fu clan also has six?
“Don’t be too surprised,” Dreamy Cloud Martial Immortal laughed. “The Thirty-Six stone inscriptions originally belonged to the Fu clan. Six is not that much if you take that into consideration.
“Originally belonged to the Fu clan?”
Teng Qingshan looked at Fu Dao in shock. “The Fu Clan is….”

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
