Chapter 32: Wait for a Guest with One Cup of Tea
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Wang Yao almost cursed at that moment. He just said to his aunt that he wanted to give up, but then the system just gave him a mission. How annoying!
“Okay, I’ll talk with her.”
“Okay!”
Wang Yao went to work on the hill the next day when he surprisingly got a phone call from his aunt. She told him that the couple wanted to meet him. He could not give up since he had a mission, and he had also promised to meet them earlier. It was also a coincidence that the couple was in Lianshan County and they had some free time. So, they made an appointment to meet in the afternoon at Nanshan hill.
He finished re-plowing a part of the field before hurrying to put a stone table out on the field.
At noon, there was a dark green Range Rover driving to Wang Jia Village. It went to the hillside of the Nanshan hill and followed along the road. It was just tens mile away from Wang Yao’s herbal field. Three people came out of the vehicle when it stopped—one man and two women. One of them was the aunt of Wang Yao, and the other two people were the couple to seeking the herbal medicine.
The man seemed to be in his 40’s and had a medium build. His face was square with thick eyebrows; he was a bit handsome. The woman appeared fragile and soft. She was pretty and looked like your average graceful and conservative woman in Jiangnan. However, she was in bad health and had dark circles under her eyes. Her face was white, and she gasped for air when she walked for too long.
“Auntie!” Wang Yao smiled and walked to them.
“This field is so great. Let me introduce you, this is Director Tian and Mrs. Xu.” Zhang Xiumei introduced the two people to Wang Yao. “This is Wang Yao, my nephew.”

“Hello.”
“There’s no need to call us director or Mrs. I am Tian Yuantu, and this is my wife, Xu Jiahui,” the man said clearly and brightly.
“Sit down please.” Wang Yao put a little wooden desk out with a pot of tea on top of it.
“Please have some tea.” Wang Yao served them the tea.
“Thanks.” Tian Yuantu thanked him and took a sip. He thought the water was very sweet and fragrant. He could not help but sigh in content.
“Good tea!”
“Thank you,” Wang Yao smiled.
It was not your average green tea since it was mixed with ancient spring water. Because of that, it was a little different.
Xu Jiahui drank it and felt a bit better.
“It really is some good tea.”
“Young man, what kind of tea is this?” Tian Yuantu asked curiously. As a successful businessman, he had gone all around the country and tasted many famous teas, but it was his first time tasting such a unique flavor.
“It is just normal tea, but there is not much left. Otherwise, I would give you some more.”
“What a pity,” Tian Yuantu said sincerely.
“I’ll give some to you for free in the future,” Wang Yao said with a smile. With Tian Yuantu mentioning it, Wang Yao thought it would be good to plant some tea plants on the Nanshan hill. With the watering of the ancient spring water, the tea plants would have good effects on the body. They would even be comparable to famous teas, or maybe even better.
“So, we came to talk business.”
“Yes, let’s get to it.”
“Can you take us to meet your master?” Tian Yuantu asked.
“Sorry. My master doesn’t meet outsiders,” Wang Yao rejected with a smile.
“Can my wife be cured?”
“What kind of the disease does she have?” Although he had heard from his aunt, he needed to confirm it personally.

“She is disconcerted, and she cannot sleep well. She can’t sleep deeply even though she is very tired and lies in bed. In addition, she has been having hallucinations recently.” Tian Yuantu held the hand of his wife anxiously
“It can be treated, but the medicine is very expensive.” Since the disease was almost similar to that of his aunt’s, Wang Yao thought the Anshensan herb would be effective.
“How much?”
“260 thousand yuan for one dose.”
“What?!” Although they were mentally prepared, they were still shocked after hearing the price. Tian Yuantu had gone all around the country, but hearing that one dose of medicine cost 260 thousand yuan was new to him.
Wang Yao said nothing; he just waited for the decision of the couple. The price was so high that even he was shocked by it. However, he had no choice since it was the forceful regulation of the system.
“Is the medicine that effective?!” Tian Yuantu asked as he looked at a silent Wang Yao.
“You can try it out.” To be honest, Wang Yao had no full assurance that it would work for Xu Jiahui. He was not a doctor, so he just induced remedies based on the description of the patient’s disease. He thought her disease could be within the treatment range of Anshensan.
“When can we get the medicine?”
“In three days.”
“Okay.” Tian Yuantu listened and nodded.
They had talked for a while, and then the couple left. Wang Yao’s aunt stayed at the house since she had something to talk to her nephew about. She had prepared to stay the night since she had not seen her elder sister for a while. The sisters would spend some time together, and then she would go back to Lianshan County tomorrow.
“Yuantu, do you believe in the words of that young man?”
At that moment, the couple of Tian talked with each other while driving away from the village. Xu Jiahui did not believe him. She had been ill for eight years and would suffer from her disease every season without fail. She would fall asleep in three days’ time when it got serious. She was uncomfortable, and she would have hallucinations. She would only go sleep if she took some special sleeping pills, but the side effects on her body were very apparent.
In those years, her body had become worse and worse as she took more and more of those sleeping pills. One famous old Chinese medicine doctor had said that she would be dead within ten years if she continued. The disease would drag her down and eventually lead to her demise.
“I would like to try it even if there is a 1% possibility,” Tian Yuantu said.
“But it is so expensive!”
“It is not expensive. I would pay two million—even twenty million to cure you—let alone 260 thousand yuan,” Tian Yuantu said with a smile.
Half of the achievements that he had received should go to his good wife next to him. In the beginning, he was not that good in business. As a result, he had failed and became discouraged. At that time, only his wife had encouraged and supported him. She never abandoned him or gave up on him.
Now, he had found a famous herbal medicine master that gave hope for his wife’s condition. His wife could recover this year! So, he came to visit this master and his disciple. The young man who had greeted him did give him a feeling that they were different from all the previous doctors they had gone to. Even some of this young man’s temperament had seemed to be somewhat similar to that of a master.

Riftwalker
Legend speaks that a roaring force of insatiable abyss lies beneath the peaceful overworld. Named the Rift after its chasm-like entrances, this unexplored void has consumed the underneath for eons. What had seemed just a myth crawled out of unreality in the form of eldritch creatures. Reborn as something not entirely human, mankind rejected the boy. Thrown into the Rift by people who feared him, he had to live in a world run by monsters as a newborn. Surviving, however, wasn't his only difficulty as he soon had to decide whether he would save the people who banished him or simply idle as the Rift engulfed all life. As of chapter 9, Riftwalker is on a very small hiatus. I'm very busy with work atm :( Here are a couple of things to expect: Lots of action and exploration! Diverse and refreshing creatures; There are good and evil. Satisfying progression and coming of age. The protagonist stands out but isn't overpowered. There are some litRPG elements, but it's not a determinant factor. The fights are decided through one's combat skill and experience and not stat-checking. Oh, and some other info: There is a bit of gore, but nothing disturbing. Occasionally, there will be images of the scenery and landscape. Chapters will be around 1,5k to 2k words long, and the releases will probably be relatively slow, sorry.

Prince of Destiny
Karl is the last prince of a royal house that has been overthrown by brutal revolutionaries. Orphaned by the revolutionaries, he was rescued and has been raised in secret by Leevana, a green skinned night-hag, for the past ten years. When Karl turns sixteen and is old enough to embrace his destiny, he and Leevana must set out on a quest to find his royal grandmother. But the depraved new leader of the revolutionaries, Joe Steel, is on their trail... Somewhat inspired by the basic concept of Don Bluth's fairy tale animated feature, purporting to be based on the myths surrounding Anastasia Romanov. I don't think this counts as a fanfiction, because it does not use anyone else's characters and it is in its own self-contained world, but please keep in mind the inspiration. Leevana and Karl are completely original characters, but Joe Steel, the bigger bad, is inspired by Stalin. Maybe let me know if you think it should have a fanfiction tag or not.

Theory of Rifts (LitRPG)
You can join my Discord here. Keynes Kid is gifted with a photographic memory and being several months away from receiving Level 1, and a Talent, he finds himself in the center of attention of people who want to shape his Talent. If they can get him an intelligence related Talent, they will hit a jackpot. The Talent Unlocking ceremony finally comes and Keynes Kid receives… Error… Anomaly (What?) His new talent is… useless. Why then does the World Government want Keynes so badly they will silence anyone who knows about his Talent? At the same time... Somewhere in the Universe, ancient beings stir from their slumber, awoken by the system alert and the wall of glaring red warnings. Their greatest fear just manifested and they are hell-bent on erasing it from existence. -------- It is a slow-development story, so you won't find the MC with super powers at the beginning. -------- It is a coming of age story and focuses on a Talent system (in the beginning) with several additions that bring to the table upgrading of a planet’s tier and such (a bit later). There will be quite an amount of rebuilding society as new, unknown resources enter the economy, and a lot of travelling, delving and naturally, unlocking the secrets of the Universe. As for the setting, the story starts in XXI century, which technology-wise isn't much different from what we have now, but it is enhanced by magic associated with Talents. This allowed the humankind to colonize the solar system, but the technology that allows for interstellar travel doesn't exist (yet). Because it’s my first attempt at LitRPG, please be forgiving but constructive. I hope you will enjoy the story! --- Cover by Daniel Gembus https://www.artstation.com/daniel_gembus instagram.com/danielgembus
