Chapter 315: Being Laughed at by Other Gangsters
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
What was Qi?
It couldn’t be seen, or touched, but it really existed.
The investigation of Feng Shui and topography involved checking the Qi in one area. The Qi here meant the functional activity of Qi in a particular area.
Human beings also had Qi, which determined one’s health and how long one would live.
The four diagnostic methods from ancient China, including looking, smelling, asking and checking the pulse, also involved checking one’s Qi. When diagnosing a patient, the practitioner would look and observe the patient first. Looking was the most difficult diagnostic method among the four.
An excellent practitioner would be able to detect a patient’s health status and illness by observing the patient.
Wang Yao brewed a decoction early in the morning. Unexpectedly, he heard the prompt from the system.
You have reached the criteria of upgrading. Would you like to upgrade your skills?
Of course, said Wang Yao in his mind.
After Wang Yao had upgraded his skills, he obtained rare skill points. He used the points on medical skills without hesitation.
Looking was to observe a patient’s look, skin color, and body shape to make diagnosis.
Now, I have all four diagnostic methods.
The moment the system filled Wang Yao’s head with all the knowledge, he was overwhelmed by the large amount of it. This was not the first time he had such a feeling. However, it was a bit different this time. Wang Yao had grasped almost all the theory related to the four diagnostic methods, which were both independent and related. The new knowledge would, together with Wang Yao’s existing knowledge, make him an even better medical practitioner.
Wang Yao felt his medical skills had improved again, not in one area, but overall.
A car with came into the village. Two people were in the car.
“Is this the place?” asked a man sitting in it.
“I think so,” replied the driver.
“Where exactly is the clinic?” asked one of the two people, a young man.
“We can ask around,” his friend said.
“Don’t. Have you forgotten what happened last time? We should keep it to ourselves,” the young man responded.
“Why? This is no big deal. Let me make a phone call,” his friend suggested.
They parked their car at the center of the village for at least one hour.
“I know now. His clinic is located at the southern end of the village,” said his friend after hanging up the phone.
The car left when it was nearly 11 a.m. for the southern end of the village.
“Look, someone’s here for Wang Yao again,” said a villager.
The villagers had gotten used to vehicles from outside.
“Well, the house looks nice,” the young man said. “Let me take a look.”
The door of the car opened. A young man came out of it. He had very short hair and had a cigarette in his mouth. He walked around Wang Yao’s clinic.

His friend agreed. “It does look nice.”
At the same time, two more cars came into the village and arrived at the southern end of the village.
“What?” The young man’s eyes widened as he saw the cars arriving.
Two Mercedes S class parked outside Wang Yao’s clinic.
A man in his 40s got out of one of the Mercedes. He had no facial expression. His eyes looked cold.
The young man looked into his eyes briefly. He shivered with fear. He immediately looked away, as if he looked into the eyes of a snake.
What’s going on here? The man with no facial expression frowned.
“What’s going on?” asked the other man in the car.
“Nothing, sir,” said the man with no facial expression.
Sun Zhengrong got out of the car.
“There are other people here.” He set his eyes on the car parking in front of them. “Let’s go inside to take a look.”
The man with no facial expression walked ahead.
The young man from the other car thought, How come he looks so familiar?
The door of the clinic was not locked, which indicated that someone was inside.
Actually, Wang Yao had just arrived at his clinic from Nanshan Hill. He picked a few bunches of grapes, washed them clean, and was eating them.
“Hello, Dr. Wang?” Sun Zhengrong called out.
“Yes, please come in,” Wang Yao said.
“How are you, Dr. Wang.” Sun Zhengrong walked into the clinic.
“I’m good, thanks, Mr. Sun,” Wang Yao replied.
Sun Zhengrong didn’t come by himself. He brought his son with him. Sun Yunsheng was alert at the moment.
Wang Yao thought for a while and then said, “I see, you brought Yunsheng here.”
Since Sun Yunsheng was present, Wang Yao should see him. Wang Yao had just obtained the skill of looking, so he could use it on Sun Yunsheng.
Sun Yunsheng was still skinny but alert. The only thing was that the color on his face was weird. It was scarily red.
As soon as Sun Yunsheng walked into the clinic, Wang Yao started to observe him.
In fact, the so called looking was to make a diagnosis and determine the cause of illness through observing a patient’s look, facial expression, and body shape. Like in the story of Bian Que saw Cai Huan, Bian Que could tell that Cai Huan was beyond cure by looking at him from distance. Only highly skilled practitioners could achieve that.
Sun Yunsheng still had excessive Yang energy inside his body. The Yang energy in his heart was extremely excessive. The Yin energy was suppressed and couldn’t develop. Even with the wonderful Frost grass, the Yang energy inside Sun Yunsheng’s body could only be restrained for a short period of time.
“Yunsheng, this is Dr. Wang, who I often mention to you. It was him who brought you back to sense,” said Sun Zhengrong.

“Hello, Dr. Wang, thank you.” Sun Yunsheng greeted and bowed to Wang Yao immediately.
His voice was so weak that it was like the catkins floating in the air.
This indicated that his vitality was severely damaged.
“Hello, you don’t need to bow. You are too weak. Please sit down,” Wang Yao said.
From observing Sun Yunsheng’s look and listening to his voice, Wang Yao could tell that Sun Yunsheng was very weak and drowsy. The Yin and Yang were extremely unbalanced inside him. He was severely ill.
Sun Yunsheng’s voice was soft and weak. His organs were also not functioning properly. He was like a candle in the wind that could go out anytime.
“Dr. Wang, can you please take a look at him?” Sun Zhengrong said.
“Just wait a minute,” Wang Yao said.
He checked Sun Yunsheng’s pulse to confirm his thoughts.
“Have you taken all the decoctions I gave you?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yes, I’ve taken all the decoctions three days ago,” Sun Yunsheng replied.
Sun Zhengrong wouldn’t come in such a hurry if he hadn’t run out of decoctions.
“At the moment, I don’t really have a better way to treat you. All that I can do now is to suppress the Yang energy inside your body,” Wang Yao said honestly.
However, Wang Yao had actually come up with a different treatment method, which had to be accomplished by a high-quality acupuncture treatment. Wang Yao didn’t have good acupuncture skill at this stage.
“I see. Can you give us more decoction?” Sun Zhengrong asked.
“Okay, just a minute,” Wang Yao said.
It was simple to make the decoction, which only contained Frost grass and ancient spring water.
“By the way, these grapes are from my garden. Try them. They taste quite nice,” Wang Yao said.
Brewing the decoction was a straightforward process, but the timing was not good. Wang Yao brewed the last two decoctions for Sun Yunsheng at night when he was on Nanshan Hill. Yin energy was strong at night. He needed the aura on Nanshan Hill. These two prerequisites were important. Without them, the decoction wouldn’t be that effective.
“The timing is not good now. Can you come back tomorrow to take the decoction?” Wang Yao asked.
“Timing is not good for brewing the decoction?” Sun Yunsheng was confused.
“Yes. You have excessive Yang energy inside your body, so you need herbs with strong Yin energy to balance the Yang energy. The herb I’m using to treat you has strong Yin energy, but I should brew the decoction at night,” Wang Yao explained.
“I didn’t expect it to be so complicated. Well, we should leave then and come back to you tomorrow,” Sun Yunsheng said..
Wang Yao confirmed the plan. Then, Sun Zhengrong left with his son.
“Hey, they’ve gone. What are you looking at?” asked the young man, who was still lingering outside Wang Yao’s clinic.
“Two Mercedes,” his friend said.
“I know. I’m neither blind nor stupid,” the young man replied.
“I know the person in the Mercedes,” his friend said.
“I don’t believe you. Who is he? Your uncle?” the young man joked.
“I wish. I think his name is Sun Zhengrong,” his friend said.
“What Rong? Who is he?” the young man asked.
“He is the richest person in Dao,” his friend stated.
“Really? But the car plates are from Dao,” the young man said.
“Yes, I believe so,” his friend responded.
“What did he come to this isolated village for?” the young man asked.
“Haven’t you seen him entering the clinic?” his friend questiongly responded.
Both of them looked at the clinic with the black roof and white walls.
“So, Sun Zhengrong came to look for him,” the young man said.
“Exactly. Who the hell is he?” his friend wondered.
“Anyway, it’s lunch time. Let’s grab some food,” the young man said.
They left in their car and went to the restaurant in the village next door.
“Hey, what do you think is on our boss’s mind? We are hooligans who don’t mind getting our hands dirty. Why the hell did he want us to keep an eye on someone to see if he does anything illegal? Shouldn’t that be the police or a private detective’s job? We are gonna be laughed at if people know what we are doing now,” the friend said.
“Stop complaining. Let’s go there again after lunch, then we can leave this place,” the young man replied.
They drove to Wang Yao’s village again in the afternoon. This time, they were not that silly. They parked the car somewhere inside the village and pretended to be two travelers. They even went up to a hill next to the village, where they could see the courtyard of Wang Yao’s clinic.
“Well, I really don’t know why we are doing this.”
The two of them squatted on the hill smoking.
“We just need to keep an eye on him,” the young man said.
“Well, It’s not easy to make a living nowadays. You know what, why not throw something like drugs into his courtyard, then call the police?” his friend responded.
“Good idea!” the young man said. He then asked, “See? Why hasn’t our boss thought about this?”
“Let’s go,” his friend urged.
The two of them went down the hill. However, they happened to bump into Wang Yao, who had just left the clinic. They stopped immediately, like two primary school students getting caught doing something naughty.
Who are they?
Wang Yao was surprised to see two unfamiliar faces.

With a career worth millions in the esports world, she didn't have time for a game like Avo—but when an exclusive beta test for the new version showed up on her doorstep, she couldn't say no… as much as she wanted to. Literally hooked into the simulation, Lily reluctantly entered a world beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of. Accompanied by seven other beta testers desperate to save their beloved game, Lily dives into a vibrant, beautiful world, where mystery and adventure waits around every corner. Despite her reservations, Lily finds a joyful escape in Avo, shattering her cold, hollow reality. It was just a game though… until the group discovered they couldn't log out. Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading! UPDATES TUES/THURS after chapter 5 Cover art by Tumblr User: @pigeon-princess This book features characters that are related to in many ways to my other novel "Grimoire". While both stories are their own stand alone series, Sun God's Corruption will add a good amount of depth to Grimoire, and Grimoire shows the unfoldings of the world that will eventually come from the events in Sun God's Corruption. I reccomend reading them both interchangably.
