That was the moment when Guan Xiaolin realized that she had been humiliated by him.

She became paler as she looked at the taunting expression on his face. She felt naked and all she wanted was to bundle herself up.

When she was about to leave, she heard Qi Chengzhi speaking over the phone. "Manager Luo, Miss Guan has some new ideas about the design proposal. She would like to talk about it now. Please come over and get her."

"She is at my door now. Come down and get her."

Guan Xiaolin was not about to wait for Luo Yushu to come for her as that would add on to her humiliation.

"Young Master Cheng, I see you're not free today. I'm going to make a move then. Please, don't bother Manager Luo about this. I'm heading off now." Song Yu was listening closely with her ears pressed against the door. She noticed the change in Guan Xiaolin's tone; Guan Xiaolin's tone stiffened up in humiliation. Song Yu heard footsteps before the corridor fell silent again.

Song Yu felt the rock being lifted from her chest. She was at ease and did not feel suffocated. The corner of her lips curled slightly.

For a moment, she could not hear anything that Qi Chengzhi said. All she heard was Guan Xiaolin's voice at the end. She was unsure how Qi Chengzhi turned Guan Xiaolin down.

When she could not hear anything anymore, Song Yu opened her door sneakily and peeped around. She saw Guan Xiaolin on her way out and disappeared around the corner.

"Heard everything?" Qi Chengzhi's teasing voice greeted her from above.

Song Yu raised her head too fast and almost strained her neck.

She saw Qi Chengzhi leaning against the wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest. One of his feet was tiptoeing and he looked at her with amusement.

His expression made it seem like he was making fun of her.

Song Yu blushed and retracted her head before closing the door without saying a word. 'Kacha.' Qi Chengzhi heard Song Yu latching her door.

"Director!" Luo Yushu hurriedly made his way over. His beer belly bounced up and down as he jogged.

"Where is Miss Guan?" Luo Yushu looked around and stole a peek at Qi Chengzhi's room. He did not see Guan Xiaolin anywhere.

"She just left. You should leave too," Qi Chengzhi replied before turning around and went back into his room. He locked Luo Yushu out.

Luo Yushu looked at Qi Chengzhi's room door before glancing at Song Yu's room door.

On his way here, he knew that Guan Xiaolin came for the director with sneaky intentions in mind. She probably wanted to offer herself up, but the director was not interested. Since then, Luo Yushu took Song Yu even more seriously than before.

After returning into her room, Song Yu blew dry her hair. She was bothered by what happened earlier.

She did not expect Guan Xiaolin to do that. Seeing how Guan Xiaolin's outfit was not what she wore in the day, it was apparent what her intention was.

Song Yu's suspicion was confirmed. Earlier that day, Guan Xiaolin was advising her to not prostitute herself for the sake of business, to think that Guan Xiaolin would change so drastically and came for Qi Chengzhi herself!

Song Yu shook her head and her heart ached. Something had come between her and her childhood friend, Guan Xiaolin.
