It was already half past eight in the morning, and she had to be in the office within thirty minutes. She didn't want the employees to see her coming out of the CEOs room so she hurried out.

"Wait!" He shouted from behind.

"I want you to come back here after office in the evening," he told her almost requesting her.

"No! I have to go back home. I haven't got any clothes to change. Plus we have a small party after the office hours. It is Brother Zhang's birthday. He is treating us." She replied acerbically.

'Brother Zhang!' Yang Xinyu didn't realize that he was filled with rage. He was filled with jealousy and his lips were pressed hard to form a thin line. He glanced at her fiercely.

'She never calls me Brother Xinyu!'

Before he could say anything, she had turned swiftly and was in the elevator. He ran after her but the door of the elevator had closed by then with a ding and it was going down. He clenched his hands and pounded the elevator's door. Wu Lina listened to the clangor and her heart leapt out.

Wu Lina exited the main building and went to a small coffee shop that had mercifully opened for the morning people. She ordered a cappuccino along with steamed buns stuffed with meat. She had twenty minutes before the office started. Quickly finishing her breakfast, Wu Lina entered the building walkway where she found other employees hustling towards the office.

She greeted the known people while they were entering the building. All of a sudden someone called her name from behind, "Wu Lina! Wu Lina!"

It was Brother Zhang running towards her shouting her name! Wu Lina stopped in the tracks and greeted him politely.

Zhang Wei was a software engineer in Yang Corporation and he had joined the company at the same time as Wu Lina. He had been pursuing Wu Lina for some time now but there was so much competition for her attention amongst the boys of the company that he always lost to them.

Wu Lina was twenty-two while he was twenty-three and according to Zhang Wei, this made an ideal combination of a couple. Wu Lina was smart, talented with a curvaceous figure, which was envy of many girls in the office. She was very charming with soft and supple skin. She wasn't ostentatious and was polite to all her colleagues. He even caught CEO Yang looking at her from the corner of his eye in one of the meetings. She definitely generated interest amongst senior people too!

Today was his day. He had planned to give an office party on his birthday and ensured that he invite Wu Lina along with his known colleagues. He wanted to propose to her in front of others so that other men would back off!

He would officially start their relationship today. He had asked the restaurant manager, where he was giving the party, to play a song when he proposed to her! She wouldn't be able to deny such beautiful proposal! As he thought that his face glowed.

"Brother Zhang! Good morning!" greeted Wu Lina politely looking up at his spectacled face, bringing him back to the mortal world. She couldn't help noticing his straight black hair that was falling on his forehead. His face was beaming. He was wearing a blue shirt and a black pant.

Zhang Wei was breathless from running after her and as soon as he reached her he said, "Wu Lina, you are coming to the party tonight, right?" He panted and waited to catch his breath.

"Yes, I will. Thanks for the invitation," she replied.

"Okay then! I'll wait for you!" He ran saying that leaving Wu Lina flabbergasted!

'Wait for me? Why would he wait for me?'

Shrugging off the thought she entered the building and went to her office floor. Almost all cubicles were filled and the workstations were beginning to boot up. She quietly walked to her cubicle looking cautiously around so as not to meet Yang Xinyu.

From past few days she had been trying her best to avoid him but things were going in the opposite direction!
