Mrs. Jiao, who was listening to the conversation, came out of the kitchen and pleaded her, "Madam, this is not correct. Ms. Wu Lina will be married to the young master soon. She is going to be your daughter-in-law. How can you behave so irresponsibly with her?"

"Mrs. Jiao, stay within your limits!" shouted Yang Chún qiàn. "If you speak a word more you will be the victim of my wrath first."

Mrs. Jiao didn't back down and went to stand with Wu Lina. The bodyguard who came to pull Wu Lina out of the sofa was met with resistance from Mrs. Jiao. However she was too weak for a man like him and found herself on the floor when he pushed her down ruthlessly.

He caught Wu Lina by wrists and tried to drag her. Her delicate skin was bruised as she resisted. Another bodyguard came and picked her up by her legs. Together, they carried Wu Lina to the door as they would carry a cattle, rudely and with utter disregard to her dignity.

Mrs. Yang followed them. Wu Lina shouted for help but one of them gagged her mouth.

They exited and pressed the button for the elevator.

'Where are they taking me? Sorry, Yang Xinyu…' thought Wu Lina while she continued to struggle weakly against those muscular men.

When the elevator door opened, they saw Lu Shiming along with a couple of security men inside. They were not prepared for what was in front of them. Lu Shiming reached for his gun but before he could react, Mrs. Yang took out a small gun from her purse and threatened them, "Let us go, or I will kill her right now."

Lu Shiming was a cold man. He had been in numerous military combats. Being an ex-army, he was well trained in hand-to-hand combat. He was calculative and very sharp when it came to situations like this.

He stayed calm, lifted his hands and asked his men to give them way. All his men stepped out of the elevator one by one. Mrs. Yang, along with her bodyguards and Wu Lina, went in the elevator. The button to the ground floor was pressed. The elevator opened on the fifteenth floor. A young couple who was waiting for it over there got frightened when they saw the scene in front of them. They stayed rooted to the ground unable to speak a word.

The elevator stopped the parking area and they exited. Mrs. Yang along with the bodyguards and Wu Lina walked a few steps when they heard footsteps behind them. They looked back to find over ten of Yang Xinyu's security men, all with modern weaponry with their guns pointed at them.

Lu Shiming had run down the staircase along with his men and reached just in time to surround them from the front. Mrs. Yang was trapped. But her gun was still in her hand, which she pointed at Wu Lina. "Let us go and she will be taken care of in a way that no one will come to know as to what happened. I will compensate you all with millions. Your generations…"

Before she could complete her sentence she heard someone clapping. Yang Xinyu had come by then. He snarled at her, "Mother, you are one troublemaker. Aren't you? I warned you last time not to come in between us, but you didn't pay attention. And here you are again."

The bodyguards were listening with rapt attention. So many men surrounded them that it was impossible to get out of the trap unless they forced their way out.

Yang Xinyu took advantage of the situation and gave a knowing look to Lu Shiming who immediately attacked the most vulnerable guard. He took him down with one blow, leaving him to his men. What followed was mere commotion. Lu Shiming was agile like a tiger. He took one more bodyguard with ease. Next he attacked Mrs. Yang and snatched the gun from her hand but Mrs. Yang had already fired it. While she fell on the ground, the bullet hit a metal pipe and ricocheted only to pierce one of her bodyguards in their stomach. The two bodyguards who had taken Wu Lina as hostage wanted to flee. They made her stand and one of them circled his arms around her neck and put his gun on her temple. "Let us go and we will let her go," he offered the trade.

Yang Xinyu growled, "Leave her right now!" He pulled the gun from one of his security men and pointed it at him.

Mrs. Yang got up from the floor with difficulty and went to stand in front of Wu Lina. "Run," she ordered the bodyguard.

The bodyguard started to run, pulling Wu Lina along with him only to be caught by the security men surrounding him from behind and he was taken down on the floor in no time. Without wasting time, Yang Xinyu sprinted to him and fired his gun. The bullet pierced his leg forming a pool of blood beneath him. The parking area was filled with his shriek.

"Leave me. I am only a bodyguard who was working under orders."

Yang Xinyu tossed his gun to Lu Shiming who pointed it on the bodyguard's head.

Yang Xinyu gave a cold glare to the man who was writhing in pain and then looked at Lu Shiming, signaling him to take care of the situation. Lu Shiming nodded.

Mrs. Yang saw the entire incident happening in a split second. She was so shocked that her senses numbed. Her knees that felt wobbly, finally buckled and fell on the ground. Yang Xinyu had shot a guard. She saw him leaving the parking area along with Wu Lina. The entire area was a mess. Someone from behind picked her up to walk her to her car.

She heard a muffled gunshot before leaving.

Lu Shiming was ordered to get the lawyer and clear the case. Within a few days the company lawyer Jiefeng Hua, got the case cleared stating that it was self-defense. The remaining bodyguards were jailed for the life for plotting to murder Wu Lina.

Chairman Yang Min-Chang was extremely furious when he came to know about Yang Chún qiàn's attempt to kill Wu Lina.
