"Where are you?" she shouted on the phone, making Bo Xilai remove the phone from his ears a foot away. "I've been waiting for two days for you to call me but you haven't even texted me."

'We still have to get married and she is already behaving like my wife!' Bo Xilai shook his head and said, "Zhou Zhili, sorry I should have called you earlier. I am too busy at the moment. The Chairman has given only a week for me to prepare for the engagement. Two days have gone in the blink of an eye. Another five days and I'll be a happy soul."

Zhou Zhili's became sad, "When will you come home?"

Bo Xilai had a warm feeling in his chest when she said 'home'. "I'll be there for dinner tonight." He couldn't resist her charm.

Zhou Zhili instantly lightened up, "Okay, I will prepare your favorite dishes!" She sounded like a baby pleasing her mommy.

In the penthouse, Yang Xinyu was still on his list. He had asked Wu Lina to select a dress from a collection that their personal shopper sent them for the engagement. Wu Lina was overwhelmed with the choices. Finally, after going through the collection, she selected a light peach colored dress that was made from lace, polyester, tulle and cotton. The A-line flower dress had a sash on the waist that enhanced her perfect waistline. The O-neck was lined with peach pearls, giving it an elegant look. It hung just below her knees and was sleeveless with a zipper on the back. The dress was so lacy on the bodice that it looked surreal. When Wu Lina wore it for trial in front of the personal shopper, she looked beautiful. The personal shopper, a woman in her thirties couldn't help admiring her taste for the wealthy.

On the other hand, Yang Xinyu wanted to call Ying Yue for his engagement. She was an eyesore for him and he wanted her to feel miserable. Perhaps this would be a great opportunity for him to show her the petty level she belonged to. Thinking that he sent her a text message:

'Wu Lina and I are getting engaged this Sunday. Please join us to celebrate one of the most memorable days of our life. Regards, Yang Xinyu.'

After sending the message, Yang Xinyu wondered whether he had done the correct thing or not… But the message was already delivered. Shaking the thought from his mind, he went to see Wu Lina who was wearing her final dress. He went to sit near the personal shopper and said teasing her, "Wu Lina, you've become fat!"

Wu Lina was shocked. "Is this dress looking bad? Do I look bad in it?"

"Hmm…" he said moving his head sideways and narrowing his eyes as if he was not too happy with it.

The personal shopper's face fell. She was just admiring her taste and the groom disapproved it.

Looking at their dismay, Yang Xinyu started laughing. A dress was flung at him and he was forced to get out of the room.

He went to the study and became busy with his office work. He was working from home these days. He realized that there were tons of congratulatory messages waiting for his response. He coined a thank you message and sent it to Zhou Zhili who then broadcasted the message.

Opening the drawer of his study, he took out the ring he had bought for her a few months back from the Cartier showroom. It was a ring with diamonds set in the form of a lotus. It looked ethereal, just like his love. She didn't deserve anything less. She was his most prized possession, his muse, his light in the dark. He stroked the edges of the ring with his finger and kissed it warmly. He kept it back in the box. A few days later it would slip in the finger of its rightful owner.

Wu Lina hadn't bought a ring. She couldn't afford an expensive one. But she had to buy one, so she decided to somehow sneak out of the house to buy it. Her savings were enough to buy a gold band at least.

The trial got over in an hour and it was already lunchtime. Wu Lina was tired and wanted to sleep. She bade goodbye to the personal shopper and returned to her bedroom. Yang Xinyu waited for her at the dining table but when he saw that she wasn't coming, he went to look for her and found her stretched on the bed.

Sitting near her, he said, stroking her hair, "Baby, have your lunch."

"I will have it later…" she replied with drowsy eyes.

He bent down to kiss her forehead and said with a smile, "I will send you lunch here with Mrs. Jiao. I want you strong and healthy for the engagement."

She agreed and Yang Xinyu went to ask Mrs. Jiao to serve her lunch in the bedroom.

Meanwhile, at the office, Bo Xilai spent a busy afternoon. It was evening by the time he had time to look up. He was looking forward to go back home and be with Zhou Zhili. Finally, he pulled himself together and left office at 7pm.

He was surprised to find that she had prepared a number of dishes for him. After taking a shower they sat down together and had dinner. He was so tired that he slept off after dinner. Zhou Zhili finished cleaning up the dishes and went to lie beside him, happy to have him back home. When she was about to sleep, a strong hand turned her towards him and a passionate kiss was planted on her lips. Her shirt was unbuttoned slowly and her breasts were softly squeezed. With desire overcoming his sleep, his moves demanded making love. He peeled her clothes and she gave way to him. His hands moved down to squeeze her buttocks. He rolled over her and relieved himself of all the tension. Minutes later, both had fallen asleep in each other's arms, exhausted.

For them, the future was filled with promise. Bo Xilai had already thought of registering their marriage as soon as his boss was married. He had to reveal his plan to Zhou Zhili and thought of giving her a surprise.
