They started from the most high-class area of the town where only the wealthy lived. Gradually, the landscape changed and they entered the suburbs where the houses were cringed together. There were small houses with a only a few having their own garden. It was over an hour before Wu Lina saw familiar surroundings. She became nervous started fidgeting again. Her fingers started rubbing her palm and she pursed her lips. The thought of meeting with her mother got knots in her stomach.

Yang Xinyu titled his head sideways and just held her tiny hands softly in his large hands. The cold hands of Wu Lina were now wrapped in the warm ones. She felt secured and gave him an uneasy look with a smile.

"Wu Lina, don't be edgy. I know you will be meeting with your mother after four years but you have to be confident. I am sure she would be very happy to receive you."

Wu Lina looked at him but wasn't listening.

"Darling, look at me," said Yang Xinyu warmly, almost commanding her.

"It will be fine, okay?" he said, reassuring her. He wanted to be with her. Since he was unsure about her father's behavior towards her, he had ordered his security men to follow their car from a distance so that Wu Lina doesn't come to know about it, else she would have felt bad.

When the car entered the locality where Wu Lina's house was, Yang Xinyu noticed that there were two very luxurious cars parked on the side of the road one after the other. A man in black was leaning against one of them smoking a cigarette. More surprising was the fact that he had blond hair and wasn't looking like a Chinese even though he had shades on.

Their car moved ahead and a few hundred meters ahead, there was another similar car although there were no men around it.

In the short distance they covered, there were eight similar black cars parked at equal distance from each other. Yang Xinyu became highly suspicious and noticed that all cars had their glasses tinted so there was no way he could check who was inside them. He messaged Lu Shiming, who was following them from behind. He wanted to call, but had to message him since he didn't want Wu Lina to get scared.

Lu Shiming checked his message and alerted his people to keep a tab on those cars. The rule of their world was to stay as cold as possible and not react on impulse. If the opposite party did not initiate action, don't do anything. He called for another four security men, giving them the coordinates. It would have normally taken an hour for the backup to reach but with his contacts they would reach in fifteen minutes. The entire town was aware of Lu Shiming's persona. Everybody respected him in his world.

Wu Lina glanced outside the window. The sun was shining brightly, unlike yesterday. The clouds had poured their wrath on the city on the previous night. Because of the rain, there was a slight chill in the air, enough to wear light woolens in.

Wu Lina was dressed in a white silk shirt and pink trousers with a pale blue pullover. She had tied her hair in a bun and was wearing sports shoes. She was looking adorable, just like a high school student going to give her exams, with flushed cheeks and over-bitten bottom lip, which Yang Xinyu was every now and then forcing out of her mouth with a frown. "That's mine to nibble," he joked.

Twenty minutes later, they reached near Wu Lina's house. Yang Xinyu noticed that there were two more black cars parked in front of Wu Lina's residence. His anxiety increased. With so many things that had happened in the recent past, it was impossible for him to take not any precaution.

Wu Lina asked the driver to stop the car hundred meters away from her residence.

"But baby, it is too far," protested Yang Xinyu. He wanted to be as near as possible. His heart was beating fast.

"Yang Xinyu, I want to meet her alone. She will become so conscious in front of you that we won't be able to talk nicely. I will call you once I tell her about our engagement, okay?" She said, pleading with her eyes.

Yang Xinyu made a sad face, "Okay…"

Wu Lina left him in the car and started walking towards her home with hands gripping the sides of her pullover. Every step she took increased her excitement and anxiety. She imagined this scene thousands of times in her mind, yet every time, she failed to reach the conclusion. She saw that there were two cars parked in front of her home. She found it odd but shirked the thought out of her mind and focused on her house.

Meanwhile Yang Xinyu asked Lu Shiming to go ahead of him and park the car closer to Wu Lina's house once she entered inside.

Lu Shiming had also noticed that there were so many black cars in the area. He was already on high alert. These kinds of cars weren't a good indication. It could be either a very important political leader or it could be underworld. Either way, he had to keep his guard on, more so because Yang Xinyu had messaged him.

Lu Shiming couldn't help thinking, 'Why does Wu Lina attract so much trouble? She is mysterious. There are so many people on this planet but she is the only one who has danger lurking around her always.' He silently prayed for her safety. He saw that there were hardly one or two more people on the street.

Wu Lina neared her house. When she was only about a twenty meters away from the house, a man dressed in black jumped out of the car. She saw that he wasn't Chinese. He was a foreigner, very tall with blond hair neatly gelled and swept back. He was wearing a black suit and was laced with modern gadgets, which she was aware of. She found it awkward. But she ignored him and continued walking.
