She focused closely and her eyes opened wide when she realized that the man was none other than Yan Xiaojun. The way he was leaning it seemed as if he was drunk. He was having trouble maintaining his balance.

Abruptly, the lights of the house went off and soft rhythmic started. Ying Yue took advantage and hid herself in a corner outside. She saw that Yan Xiaojun stumbled towards the house. He somehow reached the entrance and sneaked inside.

When he reached inside there was dance going on. He was so drunk that he leaned against a table to balance himself. When the dance stopped, the room was brightly lit. He put his hands over his eyes as the lights blinded him. Then slowly he focused back. He was looking for Wu Lina. He didn't have to look much as she was standing right next to Yang Xinyu. When she saw him she exclaimed, "Lai Mingxing!"

Yang Xinyu followed her gaze and saw him standing in the middle of the room. His face contorted into the most vicious expression. He started walking towards him with clenched fists ready to rip his limbs.

Wu Lina looked at both of them with dazed expressions. She rushed towards Yang Xinyu's sides and grabbed his sleeve to stop him. But Yang Xinyu was too strong and she got carried with him for a few meters before he realized that she held his sleeves. He looked at her with red eyes and a dangerous expression. Wu Lina withered. He looked back at Yan Xiaojun who was so drunk that now he was holding the chair in front of him to stop himself from falling on the ground.

"I invited him for the party," said Wu Lina in fear.

Yang Xinyu's expression turned to that of surprise. "What?"

"I invited Lai Mingxing to the party. Please don't be angry with him. I know him. He is a friend." Said Wu Lina even more scared now.

"Lai Mingxing? Who is Lai Mingxing?" he asked bewildered at her sentence.

Wu Lina pointed to that drunken man. "He is Lai Mingxing."

Yang Xinyu was baffled. "Wu Lina but that is not Lai Mingxing. Are you mistaking with someone else?"

"Yang Xinyu, he is a good friend. He helped me a lot when we had separated. Today I am seeing him after a long time. I am sorry that he is drunk but he is a nice man," said Wu Lina pleading him to shed his anger.

Yan Xiaojun who was listening to the conversation gave a lopsided smile. He found her so adorable. She was so naïve. He started walking towards her but Yang Xinyu on reflex came in front of his bride to protect her from unknown. He was glaring at Yan Xiaojun.

Yan Xiaojun came closer and stood in front of them. He smelled of alcohol. The smell was so bad that no one could bear it.

He spoke in a slurry voice, "Wu Lina, congratulations. But I am not Lai Mingxing. I am Yan Xiaojun. Yes, the same Yan Xiaojun who is your lover's arch nemesis."

He started laughing loudly like a mad person. Then he looked at her again and said, "I didn't know that you were in love with Yang Xinyu otherwise I wouldn't have fallen for you. Yes, I Yan Xiaojun has madly fallen in love with you…"

Before he could complete his sentence a punch came and landed on his face. He stumbled and fell on the floor. He realized that Yang Xinyu had hit him. He started laughing again, "Do you think that punch will lessen my love for her?"

He got up from the floor, reached for a pocket inside his coat and retrieved a jewelry box. "This is the ring I bought for you a day before you joined the Yang Corporation. I died a thousand deaths everyday when you went to your job. I wished god that Yang Xinyu never sees you. But fate has its ways." He started laughing again, his eyes were teary.

He opened the box to reveal a beautiful ring. He showed it to her and said, "This is my gift to you for today. Keep it as my blessing. You are Yang Xinyu's in this life but you will be mine in the next."

Yang Xinyu felt a surge of anger in his body and he again punched Yan Xiaojun. Wu Lina who was standing with her hands on her mouth was petrified by this disclosure. She was rooted to the ground. All the events occurring in front of her were like a movie reel. She didn't stop Yang Xinyu.

Yan Xiaojun was on the floor again. He managed to stand up and said, "Yang Xinyu, you can punch me, but if anything happens to Wu Lina, I swear to God I will move heaven and earth to punish you. So take good care of her. As for me, I will resign to my fate." Then he smiled and added, "I had to fall in love with non one else but Wu Lina." He looked at her lovingly and placed his hand on his heart trying to suppress a pain rising there.

"Get out!" shouted Yang Xinyu shaking with rage.

'Will this nonsense end?' Thought the Chairman fed up of the drama. First it was Ying Yue and now Yan Xiaojun. He loathed both of them. He signaled the guards to throw Xiaojun out of the premises.

When the guards approached, he said, "Don't touch me. I will go myself." The he got up with all of them surrounding him and exited the room.

All the guests who witnessed this scene were visibly relaxed. The engagement was sure full of surprises and heart-wrenching situations.

Wu Lina was shaken to the core. She had never in her dreams thought that Lai Mingxing was none other than Yan Xiaojun. Her faith in people was beginning to dwindle. She looked at Yang Xinyu to explain things but Yang Xinyu just kept a finger on her lips and said, "Wu Lina let's just forget about all the evil. It's behind us now. Don't worry. You can tell me about him when you are more relaxed."

Even though he wanted answers from her, his anxieties had increased when Yan Xiaojun confessed his love for Wu Lina and gave that diamond ring as a gift. It was unbelievable.
