Vladimir wanted to kill everybody who reminded him of Yang Xinyu. He was so enraged that he stomped out of the room after Wu Lina had spoken so roughly with him. Blinded by anger, he didn't even see where he was walking and bumped into a young maid. He glared at her and slapped her for being careless. Then he pulled his gun out to shoot her. The maid started shivering with fear and said, "I am sorry, sir. Please spare me."

Vladimir pointed the gun at her head and shot. He purposely missed her head by a few inches. The bullet hit the glass vase that was kept on a table behind her, near the pillar of the corridor. It was then that Zhao Hai xiang ran out of his room. As Vladimir saw him, he aimed his gun at him. They were only a few meters away.

Zhao Hai xiang froze on the spot. He looked at Vladimir, who was glaring at him. He looked like a mad man. The maid had fainted and fallen in front of Vladimir.

Everybody outside became silent. No one dared to even move his or her finger.

Finding that silence odd after the gunshot, Wu Lina got up from her bed and slowly walked towards the door. She opened her door to see that Vladimir had pointed the gun at Zhao Hai xiang. Immediately, she ran in front of him to protect him. Vladimir's anger came down a little. He looked down at the maid, kicked her and left the scene.

Wu Lina held Zhao Hai xiang's hand and took him inside her room. Instead of feeling nervous, she let out a chuckle. Zhao Hai xiang was surprised, but he joined her, and both of them started laughing.

As the evening fell, the time to go to the party approached.

The designer had already come to Wu Lina's room, and she was laying out her dress along with the accessories. Zhao Hai xiang left her room to get dressed. He had very important work to do.

Wu Lina looked like a fairy dressed in the long pink evening gown that was made with the finest silk tulle fabric. It had a plunging neckline, exposing the top of her breasts. A dark pink belt was tied at the back, showing her slightly big waistline. The accessories consisted of a diamond choker necklace that fitted closely around her long neck, matching diamond earrings and a bracelet. Since she was pregnant, the designer had brought flat bally shoes. When she walked out of the room, every person who saw her gawked at her. She was looking like an enchantress, a goddess.

Vladimir and Zhao Hai xiang were standing outside her room, waiting for her. When they saw her, Vladimir could only feel proud of his genes, but Zhao Hai xiang's young heart skipped fast. All his boyish desires surfaced, and he stared at her with admiration. She was like that fairy who was simply out of his reach. And he felt like his master's minion who was ordered to save his woman. Before Vladimir could extend his hand for Wu Lina to hold, Zhao Hai xiang extended his own hand, which Wu Lina took with a smile. Vladimir became jealous but walked with them to the car without saying anything.

As usual, there were several cars with security men already waiting there along with a team of doctors in a separate car.

They reached the venue within half an hour. Wu Lina stepped out. She was impressed by the way the hotel was looking. There were strings of green and yellow lights that had covered all the trees and bushes. It looked as if the stars had descended on the earth. As she walked down the aisle where petals of flowers were spread only for her arrival, she looked out-worldly. Many of Vladimir's friends and acquaintances that were just entering the venue stopped in their tracks.

Wu Lina entered the venue, and as she entered, all lights focused on her. She walked down the hall, holding Vladimir's hand. Vladimir was nodding at every known person while she only looked ahead and kept walking until they reached a corner of the hall where luxurious chairs were kept for them to sit.

Meanwhile, Zhao Hai xiang had slipped away somewhere, much to Vladimir's relief.

Ever since Yang Xinyu had come to Sofia, he had had many meetings with his people. Zhao Hai xiang was giving him all the insider information. Yang Xinyu asked him to stay beside Wu Lina no matter what.

In the party, Vladimir's people had formed a thick layer of security. People who were invited had to pass through a lot of security before entering the hall where the party took place.

Within a day of arrival, Yang Xinyu's men had gathered the hotel's map and positioned themselves at various places, disguised in different ways. Some had gained entry into the main hall as hotel staff. Of course, a lot of bribes had to be given, and some hotel staff had to be drugged.

The party started with a big bang. An artist performed a local dance. For the performance, the hall's main lights dimmed, and only the lights in the center were brightly lit under which the dancer was performing.

Wu Lina was watching the dancer with rapt attention as she moved gracefully when she caught someone with a familiar physique from the corner of her eye. She turned her gaze towards that person, but the lights were so dim that she couldn't make them out. She focused her attention back on the dancer.

When the dance was over, people started gathering around Vladimir and Wu Lina to give them gifts or flowers. Wu Lina was exhausted, and she wanted to rest. Vladimir saw that and asked her to go and sit for a while. Then he turned and mingled with the guests around. Wu Lina scanned the room for Zhao Hai xiang, but he was nowhere. She got agitated and started fidgeting with her hands.

"Many congratulations, my lady." Wu Lina turned her head towards the familiar physique that had just congratulated her. She looked at him with wide eyes.
