After taking a shower, they left for the hospital where Yang Xinyu had already booked an appointment with the doctor. The doctor greeted but was annoyed at them because they did not show for their previous appointment.

"You should realize that you are carrying three babies. You have to be extremely careful. This is just your first trimester and this is very crucial for the fetus formation. How could you miss your appointment Wu Lina?" Wu Lina just looked down at her feet and chose not to say anything.

But Yang Xinyu became angry. He said, "Doctor, Wu Lina had to accompany me for an important trip overseas, and so we couldn't make it in time."

"You went abroad without even taking permission from your doctor? This is just not done! Please follow me immediately for ultrasound. I have to check on your babies now," scolded the doctor sternly.

"Sure," replied Wu Lina meekly. Yang Xiyu didn't utter a word after that, as he too became nervous.

Fifteen minutes later Wu Lina was in the ultrasound room lying on the bed with the doctor scanning her tummy. She saw that Wu Lina's stomach had tightened further and it slightly bigger than the last time.

The doctor scanned and saw the fetuses lying healthily inside. They were growing nicely and she was happy with the progress. She showed them to Yang Xinyu and Wu Lina. Yang Xinyu couldn't help but give his tiny dots kisses right on the screen. He said, "See you father loves you more than your mom. I am giving you so many kisses. Can she kiss you like that? So when you are born, just be on my side always."

Wu Lina: "…"

The doctor laughed and shook her head. She wondered why fathers became crazy after seeing their babies.

They left the hospital after Yang Xinyu collected more medicines for her. While Wu Lina was going back, she reflected how Vladimir had taken care of her. He had a team of doctors working around her for twenty-four hours. She would have been very grateful to him had the situation been different, but he had abducted her and wanted to stay with him forever. He had become overly possessive about her. Perhaps that was the first time he had known what it was to have a child of your own… Wu Lin'a face became gloomy.

Yang Xinyu looked at her and asked, "What are you thinking?"

Wu Lina shook her head and came closer to him. She circled his arm and rested her head on his shoulder. Yang Xinyu could feel that she was thinking of Bulgaria. He patted her head and said, "Baby, please don't think about the past ten days because it makes you sad. And if you are sad, I will be in trouble. My babies are going to chide me."

Wu Lina started laughing and said, "I am sorry but it is very fresh in my mind. I am trying to cope up with it. There was a time when I feared that I would never come out of that place and I wanted to end my life. But I continued to live because I wanted to give birth to our babies. When you came, I was so scared about you. I would pray to God to keep you alive…" she started crying again.

She wondered when would those memories fade.

Yang Xinyu closed his arms around her. "Please baby, don't… what can I do to make you happy?"

Yang Xinyu still wanted to make her happy while she had gone against his advise and went to meet her father even though he had strongly advised her against it. If she hadn't gone with her father to the restaurant that day, things would have been different…

As if reading her mind, Yang Xinyu said, "Don't think about that day. It's gone and what is important is that we are together again. Okay?"

She smiled and nodded. They were connected at a deeper level that she didn't want to decipher.

Yang Xinyu's phone started buzzing. He saw that the Chairman had called. He smiled and picked up the phone. Before he could say a word, the Chairman shouted, "You pig! Why haven't you called me ever since you came back? How is Wu Lina doing? How are my grandchildren? Don't you have the curtsey to call your father also? I had been nervously waiting for my daughter-in-law!"

Yang Xinyu chuckled and said, "Congratulations father."

"Is that all? Give the phone to Wu Lina. You are good for nothing!" yelled the Chairman.

Wu Lina looked at Yang Xinyu questioningly. "Yang Xinyu whispered, "Father has become the mayor of the city."

Wu Lina was stunned. In ten days so much had happened! She grabbed the phone from his hand and said, "Father, many congratulations. Where is our treat?"

"First tell me how are my grandchildren," he asked her stubbornly ignoring her question completely. He had even forgot to ask how she had been all through these days.
