The mayor gestured the man to stop. "Okay, tell me." He stopped breathing for a minute until the sniper started speaking.

"That man came to me a few days back when I was in City H. He asked me to specifically kill Yang Xinyu and for that he offered me a large amount of money. Well, I wouldn't have killed a person as important as Yang Xinyu for a small amount. But I underestimated your people, they caught me, which was a surprise," said the sniper and laughed.

Yang Min-Chang got up from his chair, walked to him and slapped him hard across the face, "Tell me the name! I don't want to hear your story."

The sniper winced in pain and said, "I was just increasing my lifespan… Wang Lei." The moment he said that, one of the men shot him in the head.

The mayor walked out of the building and made a phone call.

Wang Lei was Yang Fangxu's uncle who had supplied faulty processors to the company for manufacturing the laptops. He had been jailed for huge fraud, all because of Yang Xinyu's efforts.

When Wang Lei heard that Yang Xinyu had been shot at, he called an overseas number.

"Sister, I have taken our revenge from Yang Xinyu. He has been killed."

She had been waiting for the news since morning and there was only one way to communicate with the outer world, which was a landline phone that one of the shopkeepers had installed. She had taken bath and rushed to that shop only to receive this news. The news came when it was evening in her place. She jumped with happiness and clapped her hands.

"Thank you Wang Lei! This is the best news I have heard in so many days!"

Wang Lei laughed and said, "Yes sister. They had been very cruel with us. Now they will taste their own medicine. I hope that Yang Xinyu rots. Thanks for the money you had paid to the sniper."

She laughed along with him. His death was music to her ears. "Haha Wang Lei. I only paid half. I had some money stashed in the overseas banks without anyone's knowledge, and I could pay from that."

"Yes sister, otherwise I couldn't have paid the full amount." Then he paused and asked, "How is Yang Fangxu?"

She said, "Wang Lei, she is not doing fine. She keeps looking out in the open all the time blankly. Sometimes she goes to the beach and takes a walk there and doesn't return for long. I am getting worried about her…"

"You should find a local boy for her and marry her off," said Wang Lei.

The brother and sister continued talking for a while, when all of a sudden she heard a loud sound on the phone. The sound was so loud that she held the phone away from her and shouted, "Wang Lei! Wang Lei What was that?"

The phone was picked and a man replied, "Wang Lei has been shot dead."

Her hands started quivering, and the phone fell on the table. The shopkeeper looked at her annoyingly and said I his language, "Don't you destroy someone else's property!" He took the phone from her hand roughly. She left his shop feeling dizzy. What happened?

Yang Xinyu came out of post-operative ward the next day.

He had gained consciousness but his mind was still fumbled. He fluttered his eyes to see his surroundings. Not able to comprehend his situation, Yang Xinyu went back to sleep. He felt a warm hand on his cheeks and a tear dropping on his forehead. Was that Wu Lina? I am fine Wu Lina… don't cry…

He felt caged and wanted to jump out of the prison walls that surrounded him. He had to find his wife and kids. Where were they? He kept looking for a door that was hiding somewhere in those walls. He shouted, 'Let me out please. I want to see Lina.'

It had been two days since Yang Xinyu hadn't gained consciousness. He had been shifted to the hospital in City H and was constantly under observation. In the VVIP room where he was shifted, no one was allowed in, even the family members. They could only see him through the glass window. Wu Lina had specially got the permission to stay in a room on a floor below. No one had access to the floor where Yang Xinyu was put up. There was heavy security around. Wu Lina spent her time standing in front of the window where she could see Yang Xinyu. She wouldn't budge from there. Her doctor had told her not to stress but Wu Lina did not listen anyone.

For two days when Yang Xinyu did not regain consciousness, Wu Lina became jittery. Whenever she asked the doctors, they would say that his condition is stable. However, they feared that he had slipped into coma.
