Noob Player Chapter 54

It was like playing hide and seek. Shen tried to look for the girl but he could not find her outside. Meanwhile, ZhenZhen had died three times already. Her figure formed in the respawn spot with an expression of shock.
"What is this? I don't see any monsters, how did I die?" She truly did not see what thing killed her. It was instant death.
"There you are!" Then ZhenZhen heard a voice from the entrance. She looked up and saw the man who was doing a squat with the stone, 'Maybe he is the guide who will lead me out of the village?' She could not help but become hopeful.
"Did you drop a level? How many times have you died?" Shen asked with concern. He tried to search for her to reduce her number of deaths. However, his familiarity with the land did not help him to find the female player. In the end, he gave up and returned to the village, waiting at the respawn spot to stop the girl from her doom.
"Huh!?" ZhenZhen was taken back. She thought the young man was an NPC, but she was wrong. From the things he asked her, he was clearly a player. On top of being a player, this young man knew that she had died more than one time, "Are you a player?" ZhenZhen asked the obvious.
"Of course, I am," Shen nodded his head mixed with guilt, "So did you drop a level?"
"No, I am still level 1 so I don't drop a single level," ZhenZhen shook her head. Then her gaze turned strange as she looked at him. She looked at Shen then at the stone, back and forth. Who would expect a player to do such a thing?

"Are you a bodybuilder in the real world?" She had read once that a bodybuilder was a maniac working out to shape their bodies. The young man might not be satisfied with the flat and no-shaped body of his game character hence he tried to shape his body.
ZhenZhen glanced at Shen's upper arm that had formed biceps, big ones that easily noticed despite the short sleeve clothes. She glanced at his chest, his chest was quite big as well.
Shen was relieved to hear that. He truly felt guilty if she dropped a level because of his carelessness, "No, I am playing a game. That's my profession, I guess," he did not say he was a pro player or even steamer but playing a game. However, ZhenZhen thought Shen was one of the two, 'What a weird way to phrase it,' she thought.
There was a stone chair at the back of the respawn spot. ZhenZhen sat there, "So how long have you been in this village?" Since he was a player, he should know where this place was, "By the way, I am ZhenZhen."
"I am Runner," Shen took the chair next to ZhenZhen, "I have been in this village since the first day of the game. If you look into the forum, you should know me."
"Woah! Are you a famous pro?" ZhenZhen was not aware of the famous noob yet. While she browsed the forum daily, she only looked for the posts that related to her passion. She did not care about the forum's trend except for a few things.
"No, I am not. Don't you know the first viral video on the forum? I am the noob who was hunted down by the streamer, don't you know that?" Shen looked at ZhenZhen, 'Does she pretend to not know me out of goodwill?' It could be the case.

"I don't know," ZhenZhen shook her head while recalling her time browsing the forum. She did not recall that she had seen a viral video of bullying, 'Nah, whatever, I have to go back to the city. I hope he knows the way back to the city.'
'But wait a minute, I want to know first what thing that killed me,' she was curious about her mysterious death.
"Do you know what kind of monster that lives around the village? I was killed instantly but I can't see the monster who killed me," ZhenZhen mumbled.
A smile formed on Shen's lips, "Do you want to know the monster killed you?"
Even though ZhenZhen did not know what caused Runner to smile, she nodded her head. It was a lie if she was not curious.
"Follow me," Shen brought ZhenZhen out of the village. He knew why ZhenZhen could not find her killer. He brought her to the biggest tree near the village and stopped eight meters away from the three.
"Hide," Shen instructed as he hid behind a tree. Even though she did not know why she should hide, she followed the instructions. Runner pointed in a direction, upward to the big tree.
ZhenZhen recognized the tree, that was the place where she died earlier. Following Runner's finger, she spotted a nest, a giant nest. Then she found two black-feathered chickens with two little hands.
One chicken was incubating in the nest. Most likely there were eggs in the nest. Another chicken, slimmer yet taller, standing next to the nest. As if it was the guardian of the nest.
"You died from that guy's attack. Despite their size, the chicken is quite fast. You must be ambushed from the tree," Shen explained.
ZhenZhen's eyes shone. She did not resent the chicken for killing her. However, there were many ideas in her head: how to cook the giant chicken, 'Giant deep-fried chicken?' The simplest way to cook the chicken, and most people loved fried chicken.
ZhenZhen snapped out of her wild ideas, 'I have to go back to the city and get the class. I will come back for the chicken later.'
"So, Runner. Do you know how to go back to the city? I have to go back to finish my class quest," ZhenZhen said in a hurry. She could not wait to start cooking, especially with the exotic ingredients in front of her. There must be some challenge to cook the giant chicken. She could not wait to overcome the challenge.

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y

When Plush comes to Shove
An: So the last synopsis wasn’t really all that good, it was just some mumbo jumbo with no actual point to it so I decided to make a new one that’s a bit more accurate. Leo Lush, just your average everyday (slightly chubby) schmuck, or at least he would be if he didn’t carry around a stuffed toy everywhere he went.I mean, he was a man who could read the atmosphere a bit so put it away in his bag whenever having a stuffed toy out would be rude but other than that he brought it with him all the time, it was a memento from his girlfriend who had died three years ago and keeping it close made him feel better. That’s also why his classmates gave him the nickname “Plush”, though that's neither here nor there. One day at the train station he’d lost his dearest stuffed toy, one of his classmates found it and lobbed it towards him, something that they’d already done many times before, but this time something went wrong and Leo found himself falling in front of the train due to the force of the throw. Now follow Leo as the spirit that developed in his stuffed toy and killed him forces his ghost into another world to possess a different stuffed toy. He doesn’t know much about the world or why he’s there but what he does know is that according to a magic book his girlfriend was also sent to this very world when she died in a plane accident three years ago. An: For those who want to know a bit more about what kind of story this will be: I want it to be a chill feel-good story and stay as far away from those despair-fest stories as possible (No offense to people who enjoy them, I’m just not one of you)Let me make something clear; I’m not writing this story with hope of it becoming really top tier among RRL (Though it did get above rank 500 once which I’m still very proud of even though it’s gone back down to ~850 at the time of writing this) I just want to write a story that I would enjoy reading, that’s why I’ll be mostly skipping over a lot of the parts that I skip when I read other stories, such as stats, the exact value of money and other such precise statistics that no one(as far as I’m aware) really cares about all that much. Just feels like a lot of effort for something superfluous. There’s a single exception and that’s one of the battles, it’s not a despair-fest or anything but it’s got a different feel than the rest of the story due to me being in a funky mood while I was writing it.
