Noob Player Chapter 83

"He's now blocking both me and Sneaky, and he does not even accept Yue's friend invite. Is he really angry with me?" Ming was still concerned with this issue. Dale tried to call Shen but was blocked too as a result.
"Maybe the Boss Monster is still chasing after him, and the call is disturbing him so he blocked us. It's not like you don't know him, unless you do something really terrible then he will not hate," Dale shook his head at his overly concerned friend. He knew Shen well, that guy could never hate his friends.
"Sneaky is right. He must be fighting the Boss Monster so he does not want to get disturbed with our call and message," ZhenZhen agreed with Sneaky's words. Runner was not going to hate his friend over something like that. Especially, it was the Runner's decision to help Ming. It was not like Ming trapped or tricked Runner either. It was not something big but Ming exaggerated it.
Yue and WealthyGuy nodded their heads as well.
"But I want Shen to kill the Boss Monster. I want the King of the Guardian Fish's body. Four meters tall fish, I wonder what the meat tastes like," ZhenZhen was eager to get a rare ingredient for her kitchen.
"Now you said it, I want to get that silver snout as well. Maybe the bone can be used for materials as well," WealthyGuy followed up, "Maybe the bone can be used for materials as well since it is a Boss Monster,"
"Nope, the bone is for me. I can make a soup with the bone," ZhenZhen immediately refused to give up the bone though they did not know whether Shen could kill the Boss Monster or not.
"Share it with me. It's not like you can use all the bones for one serving of soup. I just want to see whether the bone can be used as a material or not," WealthyGuy looked at ZhenZhen, "Nah, never mind. I just want to find a mine to mine the ores,"

Brother Jiang had learned a lot under his Master, and he got the skill for smithing as well. The main problem was that he did not have enough material to start making equipment. While he could the Guardian Fish's snout, he needed the other minerals as well to make a weapon.

As his friends were worried about him, Shen was concerned with the thing in front of him. He had been attacking the King of Guardian Fish for some time, and its health bar had been reduced to one-tenth. However, he ran out of the Guardian Fish's snout and his sword's durability was at three percent.
He checked the inventory, and there was one weapon left for him, the Gifted Spear. The reward he got from reporting the bug. He once used the spear before but dealt zero damage because his level was too low to equip at that time. This time, the same tragedy would not repeat as he had reached level 21. He then took the spear out of the inventory.

Grade: Rare
Attack: 20-30 Damage
Requirement: Level 3
Durability: 140%
————————
"Rare Grade and 140% durability, I hope this will be enough to kill the King of the Guardian Fish…" Shen muttered under his breath. He walked closer to the fish and checked the Boss Monster's condition. He then found the Boss Monster was no longer breathing.
"No! No! No!" He had been hitting this guy for like twenty minutes and spent a hundred Guardian Fish's snout. It would be a disaster if it died like this. He might get the body for materials, but the exp was what mattered to Shen.
"Argghhhh!" Shen snapped out in frustration and pushed the spear toward the King of Guardian Fish's body. He did that out of frustration.

He still dealt damage, meaning the Boss Monster was still alive. His eyes gleamed excitedly. On top of that, he dealt almost double damage compared to when he used the Guardian Fish's snout to attack the Boss Monster. He then delivered the second stab.

When did not care whether the spear would get destroyed with his continuous attack. Killing the Boss Monster was more important for him. He repeatedly stabbed the Boss Monster as quickly as he could.
As the Boss Monster's health bar was reduced, the durability of the Gifted Spear was decreasing too. However, since it was a Rare Grade spear, it was more durable than the sword.

It was just unfortunate that it was a spear. If it was a sword, he would use the skill, "But wait, my new skill might work with the spear," He remembered that [Void Thrust] did not specify the weapon he should equip to use the skill. Then he cast the skill, [Void Thrust]. His hand then blurred as he thrust the spear toward the King of Guardian Fish.

The skill was working. He was assuming that all the skills could only be used if he used a sword. However, [Void Thrust] was not limited to that requirement like [Void Draw]. Shen did not care to preserve his stamina, he used the skill on cooldown as his hand was moving as fast as he could.
The barrage of damage floated above the King of Guardian Fish but his eyes locked on the Boss Monster's health bar. The one-tenth health bar was quickly decreasing as the skill used and critical was triggered.
The damage kept appeared above the Boss Monster, and then, under his watch, the health bar was emptied.
[You have killed a Boss Monster, The King of Guardian Fish!]
[You killed the monster 40 levels above you. You get a double exp!]
[You gained 31.400.000 exp!]
Shen stared at the interface longer with a shocked look on his face. He was soloing the boss alone and it still did not help to level up. He felt that the misery just continued.

Fantasy World Epsilon 30-10
New Dive Assignment: 0B5 Personnel: Citizen of Gamma G-037-072 Jonathan Kelly World Designation: Epsilon H-037-072-030-010 Classification: Pre-industrial Exotic World, significant outliers in biosphere including atypical flora and fauna. Quarantine protocol in effect pending more data and acclimation testing. Further anomalies include populations of morphologically distinct humanoids, and aberrations in otherwise normative physics laws. Causal chain appears provisionally stable. For the purposes of delaying onset of collapse as well as above mentioned factors, only one subject is cleared to Dive. Initial mandates shall proceed with scouting and surveillance. Further details are classified. Warning: All other qualifying personnel are currently dispatched. Refusal will result in deployment delays and possible unsupervised causal decay. Do you wish to accept this assignment? Note to Readers: This is not MC isolated in a new world. This is new world joins the multiverse. What I'm tentatively coining Subverted Isekai (Formerly I used 'reversed' but, as pointed out, that would be fantasy MC goes to the modern world. Hey, there's idea! Not this book though.). There is plenty of scientific and philosophical stuff; I know that can be a turn off for some. It has a strong bearing on the story, but is mainly covered in the 'Comments & Calculations' section (optional reading of course). If you are looking for an extreme suspension of natural laws with no technical considerations, you will not find it here. Formatting Notes: Audio chatter from characters that are not currently in the scene I format in "inverted commas and italics". Given the layered nature of modern communication, I thought this distinction was best denoted visually in my prose. Critique is welcome. Language Notes Jon is a South African ex-pat. As such he will use some Afrikaans colloquialisms plus a dash of Japanese. Most importantly he says “Ja” meaning “Yes”. Pronounced with a J sound like “yo” and an A sound like “bar”. As in: “Yo, let’s go to the strip bar.” “Ja.” And not the Rastafarian /jya/. Other words: Nee - /niya/ : no Juffrou - /yif-row/ : Miss Lekker - /lacker/ : nice, good, delicious Nooit - /noit/: never The rest is mostly swear words. Indisputably the most useful words in any language and simultaneously holding the least innate meaning. Fok - “fork” without the “r”: fuck Bliksem - /Bluksim/: darn, damn. Also common noun meaning damn person or thing. Donner - “Dorner” without the “r”: originally meaning thunder, can also mean darn or damn. It is often used as a verb meaning: ‘to hit hard’ Kak - /kuck/: shit Voetsek - /foot-sack/: go away
