My Four Other Selves Chapter 34

"My power seemed to increase."
Zhang Yong hurriedly told the other Zhang Yong as he was excited. The other Zhang Yong's face also lit up but he didn't show it on his face and said, "Ohh good how much."
"I think one..."
Just after hearing this, the other Zhang Yong's lips went in a straight line and he looked at him with a boring look.
"Seriously you are getting this excited just by this little increase in the power."
"Yeah! Well, it's better than nothing and I am happy that it started increasing. In no time it will increase more."
He told him with a proud look on his face and seeing this the other Zhang Yong just nodded his head.
The whole time they continued to practice and Zhang Yong wasn't allowed to rest even for two minutes. He was having difficulty catching up with him and would often fall but he didn't bother with it. Slowly his hopes and determination were also getting high.
"Well don't you think we should eat something now?" Zhang Yong suggested.
The other Zhang Yong nodded his head and stood up.
"I saw some trees here, we can eat from there. Let's go."
Zhang Yong also happily got up and followed him. Soon they were in front of the trees and Zhang Yong's mouth watered at the sight of those fresh fruits in front of him. His stomach started to make some noises telling him how hungry it was and needed food badly.
"Okay, the food is in front of you. Get it."
The other Zhang Yong said as he stood at a little distance from the tree with both hands on his waist. He was expecting Zhang Yong to cry baby again and ask him for help but this time Zhang Yong didn't do anything like that.

He pulled out an arrow and aimed the crossbow towards the tip of the apple hanging on the tree.
He closed his one eye to get a clear view and aim more perfectly. He kept on aiming for some time at it trying to be as perfect as he could when suddenly a frustrated man behind him said, "You have to do this today only. Shoot already..."
Suddenly Zhang Yong shot the arrow. The arrow directly went flying towards the apple and in no time the apple fell from the tree. But the arrow didn't just stop there as it only touched the tip of the apple a little. It went flying away from it and also hit the apple behind it and finally it went and got stuck on the tree.
Both the apples fell in front of the Zhang Yongs. Zhang Yong ran towards them like a kid who finally succeeded in the competition. He picked up those big apples from the ground and pushed them in front of the other Zhang Yong with a big smirk plastered on his face.
The other Zhang Yong was also happy for his little improvement but he didn't want to show it on his face and make him over confident.
Zhang Yong was tired and hungry so he went over and sat down near the tree and he ate that big apple like a mad person. He never used to eat that much in his life because he never had enough money to get himself a full meal but today he got this for free, he didn't have to pay for it, just a little work, and the apple was in his hands.
The apple was so big that even that single apple was enough for a person to fill his stomach.

"Will you slow down? No one is going to snatch it from you."
"Well I am hungry and I don't think you even have a problem with my eating now."
He raised his perfect thin black eye brows at him urging him to answer while he just rolled his eyes.
"You didn't even wash that and start eating. At least wash it before eating."
"Nah. I am okay like this." Zhang Yong replied, still eating.
The other Zhang Yong just went away from there probably to wash the apple before eating. He went back to that lake and washed the apple before going back to Zhang Yong.
On the other hand, Zhang Yong who was still eating that apple now looked up and his eyes went here and there in the search of the other Zhang Yong. He tried to look for him but soon realized that he wasn't there.
"Where did he go? Did he just leave me here?"
He hurriedly got up from the ground and started to call out to him, "ZHANG!..."
"ZHANG!"
"ZHANG, WHERE ARE YOU?"
He was just calling out his name when all of a sudden he saw...

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Daily life of a cultivation judge
Tired of those cultivators who think it is righteous to eliminate a sect or clan root and stem all in the name of revenge and avoiding future troubles, fights over treasures that end up destroying cities with no consequence whatsoever to the culprit, these psychos whose aim for the peak always involves a trail of carnage and bloodshed in its wake for some reason. Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
