My Four Other Selves Chapter 46

"We are here." Senior Zhang Yong announced.
Zhang Yong hurriedly started to look here and there. But he could only see all those same trees there too. Nothing special was seen there by him and he frowned at that. "Why are we here?"
"You will know. Come with me."
"Okay."
"Fuzzy you stay here." Just as Senior Zhang Yong said that Fuzzy sat down on the ground and closed his eyes like he was resting.
"He is your pet. Just as lazy as you are."
Senior Zhang Yong rolled his eyes at Fuzzy and started to move towards a tree.
Zhang Yong also followed him while trying to get what he was trying to do.
Senior Zhang Yong went to the other side of the tree and started to look up.
Zhang Yong also followed him and started to look up where he was looking, not before giving him a look.
"We are going to climb this tree. Once we are up we can see the whole jungle from here and then also the center and make the map easily. I made the first one like this too."
Zhang Yong now understood every thing.
"Ohhh so that's why we are here."
Senior Zhang Yong nodded his head.
"Let's go then."
He again nodded his head and held the tree. He found the right spot and then put his right foot on it as he lifted his body.
Soon he started climbing the tree and Zhang Yong did the same too.
He also started climbing that tree in no time.
The toes of his shoes made crumbling sounds as they dragged against the sturdy trunk-- his arms pulling him ever upward. The ground was only feet away, but already the tree was pouring life in through his skin, caressing his hair with late-budding sprigs as he escalated.
The wind blew and he soared. The leaves were his wings at that time, outstretched and ruffling as he was carried from the earth. He felt free at that time.
He refused to look down back at the ground cause once he would look down he wouldn't want to go up any further.
His fear of heights would come out and he would no longer be able to climb it. Ignoring his pounding heart he continued to move up. The wind licked his face.

Pure, untainted happiness swelled in his fast-pounding heart when he realized they had already climbed half of the tree.
He looked at his surroundings now only and realized how high he was from the ground. Then in the last gust of wind, he saw a single red leaf from the shady green wings drop into his face.
Zhang Yong continued climbing and soon he realized there were branches around them now. Indicating that they were near the top and in no time they would be able to reach there. He again put his hand up but realized that he was getting tired now.
He ignored the fact that he was tired and continued climbing with all the power left inside him.
The branches reached their limbs across the spring sky, clouds passing by them now. They appear as if brought into the world by oils upon canvas, by an artist who knew there was both beauty and order in chaos.
For they reach this way and that, the buds now open, gifting their new foliage to the community. They are not straight, nor curved, yet organic and each supporting perfect blossom amid the green.
Zhang Yong couldn't help but think of them as arms rather than branches, and perhaps that's why he loved them so, the trees, deeply rooted and stretching upward, drinking in both sunshine and raindrops in equal measure.
Finally, Zhang Yong saw Senior Zhang Yong put his foot on a branch and from there on the other, and finally, he was on the topmost branch of the tree. Zhang Yong also followed him and soon put his foot on the branch and then the other and he was on the top too.
He smiled knowing that he finally made it without any mistake. He adjusted himself on the branch and finally, his eyes went to the scene in front of him. True to Senior Zhang Yong's words, he could see almost all the jungle from there.
As the sun rose over the horizon it awoke the jungle slowly and efficiently. Soon he could hear the birds chirp with all their heart and that triggered joy and excitement in his soul.
A breeze toured the jungle making the flowers and leaves tango with rhythm and finesse as though they were experts. The lush evergreen trees stood so firm as if the roots were clinging for their very life, in the distance, there was a Crystal River and a waterfall as its source.

He could hear the rampaging rapids after the dip of the waterfall which slowly converted into a swift river forcefully turning at every bank. The river cut through the middle of the jungle and diverted into another as a tributary. Finally, the lions, the big elephants were seen by him.
As he observed the jungle he noticed a grape tree not too far from where he was, he quickly wanted to dash next to it and took a look at its beauty which put him in a day dream for about five seconds before he regained his senses. He spotted a ripe grape screaming "eat me"!
He gulped the lump in his throat but forcefully ripped his eyes off of that grape and moved away to look at the remaining part of the jungle.
There was something about the sparkle upon the blue, a melody without a rhythm, music without sound. Above the wave, the great arms, clothed in the greens of every palate and none, the verdant hues of nature's free dreams.
In that place, he became a part of that art, of that three dimensional creation of time and space, of a greater evolutionary span than his brain can fathom.
It's when he stopped knowing and began feeling, it's when he heard with his heart the voices of those mighty trees, "Welcome."
"Look, there is the center!" Senior Zhang Yong pointed towards an area where there weren't many trees. It looked like that place was different from the remaining jungle and looking at it Zhang Yong could immediately get some thing was odd with that place.
Some thing wasn't right there and his curious self wanted to move more up and see what was there but he couldn't do so as he was already at the top.
He realized standing there on the tree that it was the biggest tree around them. Though he could see many more at a distance but not any bigger than this one.
Zhang Yong continued to look at the jungle while Senior Zhang Yong plucked out a big leaf from the tree and then from the back of his pants he pulled out a pen like stick which had a dark black color on its top.
He put that leaf on the tree and started to draw some patterns on it.
Zhang Yong tried to see what he was making on it but he couldn't understand so he just let him do whatever he was doing and continued to look around.
He was speechless looking at the beauty of the jungle. He never believed that the jungle would look this beautiful in reality.
"Okay done!" Senior Zhang Yong exclaimed after some time.
Zhang Yong moved his head back to him and looked at the map. Senior Zhang Yong just rolled that lead and put it behind in his pocket as he put his pen there too on the back of his pants.
"Let's go back down."
"Can't we stay here two more minutes?" Zhang Yong asked as he didn't want to go down. He was loving the view up there even though he was scared of heights. At that moment he just forgot the fact that he was scared of heights.
He gave him his best puppy eyes thinking that he would agree to stay there for some more time but Senior Zhang Yong just rolled his eyes at him saying, "Stop behaving like a child. I told you we don't have that much time left to waste on these things. Let's go. Move!"
Zhang Yong rolled his eyes and even though he didn't want to go down yet he started to move down and soon Senior Zhang Yong also followed him.
He was already tired of climbing the tree and now he had to move back down.
'He didn't even let me rest for two minutes. What does he think of me? A spiderman?'
He rolled his eyes at his thoughts and continued moving down.
For him climbing down was also difficult as he felt like he would fall any minute, whenever he would stop to take a rest Senior Zhang Yong would reach near him and would scold him for stopping and he would have no option but to move down again.
Soon they finally reached the ground. Zhang Yong jumped and put both his feet on the ground and the next thing he saw...…
