Chapter 1167: Gao Tianming’s Fall From Grace
Translator: Henyee Translations Editor: Henyee Translations
Shadow Dao was a two-edged Great Dao with a critical flaw that was very easy for evil people to exploit. However, Wang Ling felt that this flaw could be fixed. After all, Ah Nuan had yet to be born. She was probably the most powerful embryo in the world, or even the universe, right now, but she still had limited control over Shadow Dao. As long as Ah Nuan grew up and got rid of the aspect of Shadow Dao which triggered “evil,” it would still be a Dao that would benefit all of mankind.
Wang Ling couldn’t say for sure if Wang Nuan would cause all sorts of havoc after birth like he had due to lack of control over her power. What he could be sure of, however, was that Father and Mother Wang’s instructions for him hadn’t changed: As her big brother who had experienced the pain of losing control before, what he could do was help lead Ah Nuan on the right path.
“Relying on burning talismans to climb to the top? No. 60 High really has a lot of talent…” Everyone in the command center looked at the scene in front of them. They had already noticed movement on the top of Mist Peak. Gao Tianming had devoured Wang Zhen in a blind corner, so the scene hadn’t been recorded. Until now, no one in the command center knew that Gao Tianming had already fallen into a demonic state.
Thus, when Wang Ling appeared on the summit in an attempt to rescue Wang Zhen, the headmasters in the command center just treated it as a normal Foundation Establishment duel. However, as Wang Ling’s head disciple, Odd Zhuo instantly understood what Wang Ling was going to do.
He was all too familiar with Wang Ling’s personality.
He wouldn’t appear on the front line so easily to take action.
If he had chosen to make a move, he must have run into some problem.
As for burning talismans as he climbed to the top, it was very likely just a cover.
Even if he wasn’t with Wang Ling, nor even the commander in chief of the operation this time, Odd Zhuo thoroughly understood that his job was to divert other people’s attention from Wang Ling.

He promptly gestured to the staff member on the side, who was controlling the display, to cut away from the scene.
To prevent this very situation, Odd Zhuo and Grenade-Throwing Senior Immortal had plotted early on to take over this staff position, and this person was in fact someone who had been dispatched by the Office of Strategic Deception.
Seeing the image on the large screen cut away, Odd Zhuo sighed with relief inwardly.
But he tensed up once again at Old Huang’s next words. “Why did you cut away? I remember the list said that Gao Tianming is the strongest of No.1 Demon-Subduing High’s new students, and also the team captain this time. His opponent is No. 60 High’s mascot Student Wang Ling. Their fight should be worth watching.”
Odd Zhuo: “…”
Given Old Huang’s status and identity as the shifu of one of the Ten Founding Generals, President Qi, it was impossible for Odd Zhuo not to know how much respect the former enjoyed in the cultivation world. The way Old Huang said it, Odd Zhuo immediately knew that he had to switch back to the scene.
Fortunately, Odd Zhuo had a plan B.
This was the second plan he had prepared for Wang Ling’s sake, in the event that Odd Zhuo was asked to switch back to the scene.
It was just that the scene that he would switch back to wasn’t the true scene of the battle.
…
At that moment, in a dark studio in Songhai city, Dharmaraja and Fatty Luo, this pair of slightly plump buffoons, were already fully prepared. They had already been on standby when the scene first cut away. In any case, they were Soul Formation experts; it wasn’t difficult for them to emulate a duel between two Foundation Establishment cultivators.
This dark studio had a live projection effect, and could project an image of Mist Peak’s entire landscape that was so realistic that one could hardly tell that it was fake.
What Dharmaraja and Fatty Luo were going to do was use the Transformation Spell to turn into Gao Tianming and Wang Ling.
After that, they would use the props which they had prepared beforehand to give a live performance.

Fatty Luo had produced these props earlier on.
After some investigation, Grenade-Throwing Senior Immortal had gotten a complete list of magic treasures that students from the various schools might smuggle into the competition, and No.1 Demon-Subduing High’s puppet was on the list.
Now, it was a fight between Wang Ling and Gao Tianming. Fatty Luo immediately transformed into Gao Tianming and changed into the clothes he had prepared earlier before he took out a puppet prop which he had made himself – his “Fatty Luo Hardware” had been open for a long time and had received all kinds of odd custom orders for magic treasures; naturally, they had included puppets like this.
Thus, it wasn’t hard for Fatty Luo to make puppets.
“Fatty Luo, isn’t your puppet a little too detailed…”
When Boss Luio took out the puppet he designed, Dharmaraja was taken aback.
Rather than a puppet, Dharmaraja felt it might as well just be called an action figurine. It was painted all over, and its figure even conformed to the golden ratio. The most important was that it was even wearing clothes, and it was so detailed that even its finger joints could move freely.
Fatty Luo: “Dharmaraja, you don’t understand. Puppets also need to look good. In any case, I’m still a magic treasure designer; I just can’t take the crude and ugly puppets that Gao Tianming, this Foundation Establishment junior, uses.”
Dharmaraja: “I understand, but the question is… why does your puppet look like Lord Jingke?”
Fatty Luo: “What a pointless question! Only Lord Jingke deserves my serious treatment! Be careful when you fight me later, and don’t break my figurine… no, my puppet! In any case, this is just for show, and we just need to go through the motions!”
Dharmaraja: “Then do you have another puppet? Change it with another one!”
Fatty Luo: “I do! Don’t regret it after I’ve changed it!”
“…” Dharmaraja suddenly had a bad feeling.
…
At that moment, Odd Zhuo sent a signal from the command center.
The scene would be switched back soon.
Dharmaraja and Fatty Luo prepared themselves and immediately entered “Oscar movie king” mode.
There was no doubt that this was a contest for best acting.
Dharmaraja, starring as “Wang Ling,” starred expressionlessly at Fatty Luo, who was starring as “Gao Tianming.” Dharmaraja didn’t speak because he knew Ling Zhenren had always been a person of few words, and he would easily give himself away if he talked too much.
As for Gao Tianming…
Fatty Luo didn’t know him very well, and could only rely on himself for this act.
And so, when Old Man Wang and all the headmasters in the command center saw the scene in the studio –
Everyone was struck dumb by the puppet behind Fatty Luo.
“We only cut away for a moment; how did Student Gao’s puppet change so much?” Old Huang was puzzled. He remembered that Gao Tianming’s puppet was a little more crude and scary-looking.
“Youngsters – it’s certainly very normal to have one or two detailed puppets.” President Qi laughed on the side. “But I didn’t expect there to be such a huge difference in Student Gao Tianming’s style. Perhaps he’s a shut-in.”
“A shut-in?”
Old Huang frowned as he shot a glance at the headmaster of No.1 Demon-Subduing High, Li Qingxi. “Headmaster Li, I didn’t expect the students of your esteemed school to have this side to them. A puppet master’s puppet can actually reflect their personality.”
“…”
As headmaster, Li Qingxi was also stupefied as he stared at the sexy female puppet behind Fatty Luo on the screen.
He remembered that his student Gao Tianming didn’t have this sort of style!
What on earth happened in that moment when the scene cut away?
…
This was the puppet that Fatty Luo had switched to one second before the scene switched back. It was made with replica skin, and was known as: Adult Puppet…
And it was stark naked, with not a stitch of clothing on it…
Hence, everyone in the command center now knew that Gao Tianming from No.1 Demon Subduing High had a dirty mind…

The Mystifying Diviner
Content warning, there is cursing in the story and there will be some pretty heavy sexual innuendos in it also. I don’t really plan to write gore, but there will be fight scenes. Fair warning to readers, it is a slow start. But hopefully it is enjoyable for you to read. Follow the story of an old chef who was lucky to be selected to become a system host. Well maybe not so lucky, because gaining the system killed him. He will be given a system that might not be the best match for him. While also having to deal with a snarky system monitor who might not be that helpful most of the time. He will also use his new found powers to enjoy life in a new younger body. What you can expect from this story is bad writing, poor grammar, and slow pacing maybe. Food, cooking, comedy, slice of life, fighting, exploring, tournaments, scamming and probably face slapping. I mean who doesn’t like a good face slapping? This is my take on a cultivation story, a lot of Eastern stuff will be crammed into with a mix of Western. This story started as a goal for myself to write 60,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo. I was able to do it even with taking days off and not writing. I plan to keep writing the story, but at a slightly slower pace. I am aiming for 2-3 chapters a week now with about 4-7k words written. This is only posted on RoyalRoad currently, and I have no plans to change that for now. Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess. (This work is also being serialised on Webnovel under the name Revile as a trial run)
