Capitalist Monster Hunter Chapter 8

8. La Cucaracha – The Cockroach (3)
Clank!
Bam!!!
The iron bars fell from the vents.
Yoo-sung turned his head towards the direction where the sound was made.
A Crochet poked its head out of the vent.
"Oh, goddamn it."
A curse came out of Yoo-sung’s mouth. It was already hard enough to stop the Crochets coming in from the front, but now a Crochet was approaching from another direction.
[Black Star: It's over.]
[666: Oh, it’s over already? I thought we finally got something entertaining to watch.]
[Yongsalja: We don't know if it’s over yet.]
[666: Lol, Yongsalja just said ‘we don't know yet’. Such a simple human.]
[The Great Angel: Shut up, you devil.]
[Black Star: Hello, fly.]
[The Great Angel: Shut up.]
[666: Flapping your wings again?]
Yoo-sung hoped they would cheer him on, but the Gods and Spirits started fighting among themselves again.
‘Not even a single helping hand…’
The only thing to believe in was himself. The Gods and Spirits were just watching as if they had voyeurism. He had to get through it himself.
[Do you need help?]
“Of course!” It was obvious that Yoo-sung wanted help, even if it’s from a cat.
[Inside the database in the laboratory, I found music that can improve a human's efficiency.]
“What? Music?”
Well, that’s unexpected.
Yoo-sung was shocked by what Eve said.
[Researchers at the institute listened to this music every day to improve the efficiency of their work.]
Yoo-sung has seen it on the internet before. The music that can stabilize human brain waves to improve work efficiency and concentration…
There was once a time that a strange machine called MX Square was all the rage in Korea. Many students appeared on TV and advertised that listening to the music inside the machine made them study well. Perhaps that's why a lot of parents lined up to buy the MX Square.
‘Yeah, the parents aren’t foolish enough to spend money on something that doesn’t have any effect anyway.’ That's what Yoo-sung thought and told Eve.
“Okay! Then, play it!”
[Alright.]
Eve played the music when Yoo-sung told her to. The music began to resonate inside the laboratory.
“La cucaracha ♫
La cucaracha ♫
Such a beautiful face ♫”
The song was a combination of the sounds of an accordion, a guitar, and the unique sound of the shaking sand inside a maraca. Also, the song was sung by a man with a greasy voice.
“…..Hey, Eve.”
[What's wrong?]
“Is this the song you were talking about?”
[Yes, that's right.]
“Haah…..” Yoo-sung sighed.
“Improving efficiency? This song?”
It will be fortunate if the effect of this ‘efficiency’ doesn’t fall off. But rather than improving efficiency, he felt his mind becoming more distracted.
All this talk about listening to a song to help you concentrate well and improve your efficiency… It was all a lie.
‘Music that can help you concentrate? What bullshit.’
Yoo-sung forgot that South Korean parents will send their children to North Korea if they think it can improve their children's grades. South Korean parents will even go kill North Korea’s leader if they think it could help them send their children to a university in Seoul.

He was sure that the parents got fooled just because it was said that MX Square can raise their children’s grades.
It isn't that the concentration goes up because of something. A person who can concentrate well can also concentrate well while listening to music.
[Goddess of Mischief: Listen to the song lolll]
[King of Angels: Ah…]
[The Dragon Man: How crazy.]
[666: Lolll]
[Black Star. Oh, crazy. Lol.]
Yoo-sung’s concentration did not increase at all, but it did trigger something else. His anger.
“Arghhhh! You bastards!”
Bang! Bang! Baang!
Yoo-sung’s angry rampage has begun.
The Crochets fell to their death as soon as they came out of the vents. The Jackal's bullets were faster than the Crochets, which resulted in a large number of their deaths.
Even the stupid Crochets realized that they would die if they come out one by one and tried coming out in a bunch, but it did not matter. The Jackal's high explosive bullets were exploding bullets. The more they came, the more explosions there were.
Click! Click!
Flames stopped coming out of the Jackal's barrel. It was out of bullets. The floor was covered with shells spitted out by Jackal.
To reload, Yuseong pressed a button that popped out on the side of the Jackal as Eve told him. There was a light hollow sound when the cartridge was dropped.
The Crochets did not miss this chance. When Yoo-sung stopped shooting, the Crochets went crazy and started charging at Yoo-sung.
Kiieeeee!
A Crochet jumped onto Yoo-sung’s face by using its hind legs.
“Oh no, you don’t!”
Bam!
Yoo-sung hit the Crochet that jumped on him with the Jackal.
“Kiieee!”
The Crochet fell to the ground and rolled after getting hit by the Jackal.
Bzzzt!
The Crochet’s body was split into two pieces by the energy sword Yoo-sung swung.
Ka-chak!
Yoo-sung continued to fire after putting a new cartridge of ammunition from his waistband. Some of the Crochets stuck behind Yoo-sung while he was looking at the other directions, but he just shook them off and stomped them to death.
There was a constant stream of gunfire in the laboratory. The shooting stopped around the time when the pieces of dead Crochets made a small hill.
“Huk… Huk… These fucking bugs…”
[Yongsalja: Wow.]
[Goddess of Mischief: Oh, he won.]
[War Fanatic: Oh, so satisfying!]
[666: Really?]
[Black Star: He survived this.]
[Donation Mission Successful!]
[War Fanatic donated ‘Practitioner Sword’.]
[Yongsalja donated ‘Common Random Box’ x 10.]
[Goddess of Mischief donated ‘Body-enhancing Potion’.]
[Black Star donated ‘Common Health Recovery Potion’ x 20.]
[Anonymous God donated ‘Samjae Inner Energy Control’.]
[Anonymous God donated ‘Samjae Sword Art’.]
[[Anonymous God donated 1000 points.]
[Anonymous God…..…..]
[Anonymous God…..…..]
[Anonymous God donated 500 points.]
The list of donors was updated in front of Yoo-sung after he killed all the Crochets.
Yoo-sung was exhausted from dealing with the Crochets and sat down. Then, he raised his Jackal and shouted.
“I live, you fucking bugs! Hahaha!”
Yoo-sung burst into laughter at the joy of surviving.
[Congratulations, user Han Yoo-sung. Like I said, a Crochet is just a walking target to a soldier.]

“Hey, Eve.”
[What is it?]
“If you were a human, I would’ve beaten you up.”
[I'm glad I'm not a living organism.]
“I'm not kidding.”
What Yoo-sung said was sincere.
* * *
[User Han-Yoo-sung, I found something that could help you.]
“It's not something like a guitar or a maraca, right?”
[It isn’t.]
“What did you find?”
[It’s a drone. It's a reconnaissance drone used by the Union, but I think a researcher modified it to use not only for reconnaissance but also for combat support. It also includes simple hacking tools.]
Drones are a technology that began to become popular on Earth a few years ago.
It has been used in dangerous rescue sites where people cannot enter, and its usage has been increasingly used in areas of activities such as broadcast filming, military use, and private hobbies.
Perhaps because of the advancing technology, drone technology seemed to be advanced enough to be fully adopted by the military.
“Do I have to control it?” Yoo-sung asked Eve in a slightly worried voice.
[Don't worry about that. I will control the drone.]
Yoo-sung was relieved when he heard Eve was going to control the drone.
The size of the drone was larger than expected.
“I thought it would be about the size of a soccer ball.”
The drone Yoo-sung saw on TV was not big, so he thought it would be about the size of a soccer ball, but the drone was a little bigger than a soccer ball.
[We've recovered all the research data. Let's now go back.]
Yoo-sung and Eve left the Randun Central Laboratory.
‘There were a bunch of tabs that popped up earlier.’
Yoo-sung recalled several taps popping up in front of him while he fought with the Crochets.
‘Hmm… It’s probably nothing important. I’ll check it out later.’
[As we were retrieving the data, I requested a rescue from the nearby military base. Let's go outside and wait for the rescue team.]
***
“Found it, Captain.”
“I want to see what kind of hero escaped the chaos in Randun alone. I heard all the guys in the operation are dead.”
“Haha! I want to see who it is as well. I don't know who he is, but when he goes back, he'll be a hero.”
Sergeant Chen burst into laughter at Captain Patrick's words. Sergeant Chen opened the door of the helicopter with a smile and saw Yoo-sung waving his hands.
However, Sergeant Chen's smiling face hardened when he saw Yoo-sung.
“Captain, that's him.”
“Who are you talking about? Don't tell me you're talking about that scumbag Noble?”
“That's right. That's the Noble from that time…”
“Oh, shit. That Noble?"
He didn't expect that scumbag to be alive. A Noble's life is tough. Are all Nobles some kind of a cat with nine lives?
Captain Patrick replied sarcastically to Sergeant Chen's words, “What can we do? That Noble is the only one who survived the operation, so we’ll have to rescue him. Our base asked for the rescue, so we couldn't leave him.”
“If we leave the Noble behind, it’ll become even bigger trouble anyway. Sergeant, let's just pray that the feisty little Noble will welcome us.”
“By the look of the smile on his face, it doesn't look like the Noble is going to get angry. Well, maybe he might grumble along the way.”
“Such as the chair being uncomfortable or the shaking of the helicopter?”
“Exactly. Let’s hurry up and go back— Oh, shit.”
Boom!
As Patrick was lowering the helicopter, the wall of the laboratory suddenly shattered, revealing a huge Evolutionize.
Yoo-sung also turned his head towards the sound of the collapsing wall.
“Kiieeeeee!”
Bizarrely huge muscles that would burst when touched, fists as hard as steel balls from a construction site, and a huge body. An Evolutionize that a Mensetag can’t compare to appeared.
“Kiieeeeeeee!”
[It’s the De… Demolisher. We need to get out of here! Come on! To the helicopter!]
“I never thought that such a monster was in the lab…..”
He didn't know how a monster that size can fit inside the laboratory, but he thought it was fortunate that he didn't encounter that monster.
[Now is not the right time to stare blankly!]
At Eve's words, Yoo-sung began to run towards the helicopter.
“Come on! Get on!”
From the sight of the approaching Yoo-sung, Sergeant Chen hurriedly lowered the ladder and began firing a machine gun at the Demolisher.
Flames poured out from the machine gun and countless bullets were scattered over the Demolisher.
Tu doo doo doo!
Despite the machine gun firing, the Demolisher was trying to catch Yoo-sung.
“I'm escaping!”
Huup!
“Hurry up and launch the chopper! Come on!”
Yoo-sung managed to grab the ladder and Captain Patrick maneuvered the helicopter to go higher.
“Kiiiieeeeeeeeee!”
The Demolisher tried to reach for the helicopter, but the helicopter was able to escape from the monster.
“I… I’m alive.” Yoo-sung’s heart was pounding like crazy.
Sergeant Chen gave a bottle to Yoo-sung, who was sitting in a chair breathing heavily.
“It's water.”
“Oh, thank you.”
Yoo-sung began to drink water from the bottle given by Sergeant Chen. With the cool water going through his throat, which had dried like a dry rice paddy, he felt like he was alive.
“Ahh, it's cool.”
Yoo-sung passed back the bottle to Sergeant Chen. However, Sergeant Chen just stood there without taking the bottle. Sergeant Chen's expression was shocked as if he had seen a ghost.
“Excuse me?”
“What? Yes? Oh….”
Only after Yoo-sung spoke again did Sergeant Chen come back to his senses.
“Do you, by any chance… remember me?”
Sergeant Chen asked with his eyes wide open at Yoo-sung.
“I'm sorry, but I don't remember. Haha…”
“I just saw you a few days ago. Do you really not remember?”
“I got my head hurt in Randun, so I don’t…”
Sergeant Chen's face turned white when Yoo-sung said he had hurt his head. Sergeant Chen then urgently contacted the headquarters.
“This is Nighthawk. Nighthawk. Answer HQ.”
“I can hear you, Nighthawk. This is HQ. Did you complete the rescue mission?”
“It’s a success, but there’s a problem.”
“Is there a time when we had no problems? What's the matter, Nighthawk?”
“The Noble is hurt.”
“…..did you just say Noble?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, damn it. Okay, Nighthawk. We are going to put the medical team on standby right now. Be quick as you can before Noble’s condition gets worse.”
“Understood, HQ.” Sergeant Chen then ended the communication.
“Captain.”
“Yeah, I heard that. Chen, hold on tight.”
Captain Patrick maneuvered the helicopter to its maximum output, and soon after, Yoo-sung was able to reach the safe zone.
