He bowed down slightly like a prince and asked, "Would you like to dance?"

He Xinyan looked at the hand and smiled. She tilted her head slightly and placed her hand onto his. Gu Yechen led her over to the middle of the dance floor and gently placed his hand onto her waist. He Xinyan placed her hand onto his broad shoulder and looked up into his eyes.

'Pretty good,' He Xinyan thought. So far, he was much more romantic than Su Zhiming!

They began dancing to the music, and He Xinyan's long dress twirled around, gently touching the marble floor. He Xinyan had taken dance classes before, and she was quite smooth on the dance floor.

Gu Yechen also cooperated with her very well, and he moved at the perfect speed so He Xinyan could keep up in the high heels.

Even with the heels on, He Xinyan only reached his shoulders as they moved around the floor. They were the only couple dancing now and a circle of people formed around them to watch.

The stares made He Xinyan uncomfortable and a little nervous, because everyone at the party was extremely powerful and influential.

Towards the end of the dance, almost everyone inside the room had stopped what they were doing and were looking at them now, and He Xinyan felt her body tense up a little.

As her mind wandered off, Gu Yechen changed directions and pulled her body to a different side. He Xinyan wasn't completely focused on the dance and she accidentally stepped on Gu Yechen's foot and lost her balance.

Her eyes widened as her hand let go of Gu Yechen's shoulder and her body tilted to the side. She bit her lips together as she instinctively closed her eyes.

However, Gu Yechen quickly reacted even with the pain coming from his toes and he reached his arm out. His other hand tightened a little around her waist and he also pulled on her hand to prevent her from falling.

At that moment, the music ended and they looked as if they were in a tango swoop ending pose. The audience broke out into applause and He Xinyan slowly blinked her eyes open.

She looked at Gu Yechen and quickly stood back up. "Thank you."

Gu Yechen smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked out of the dance floor together.

As they walked, He Xinyan checked off another box in her mental checklist - 'Has a quick reaction'.

After He Xinyan ate another slice of cake to calm down her nervous heart, they left to go home.

Inside the Xihe Estates, Gu Yechen and He Xinyan got out of the car together and the driver of Gu Yechen drove away.

They walked slowly along the sidewalk and Gu Yechen first walked He Xinyan to the front of her house.

Next to the front steps leading to the house, they stopped and He Xinyan turned to face Gu Yechen.

"Thank you for taking me to the party tonight."

Gu Yechen stuck both of his hands into his pant pockets and replied coolly, "Your welcome. Good night."

As Gu Yechen turned around to leave, He Xinyan suddenly stopped him.

"Wait! I have a question for you. . ."

Gu Yechen froze and turned back, "What is it?"

"Do you really like me?" He Xinyan asked softly in a voice no louder than a whisper.

Gu Yechen didn't answer right away, "Do you want to come over to my house for a while before going back?"

He Xinyan immediately grew alert as she wondered why he asked for her to go to his house to answer a question. . . Was this a trap?

"Um. . . I. . ." He Xinyan looked back at the house and didn't really want to go back yet. Although it was late, she was sure the Li mother and daughter were still awake on the first floor.

"Okay. . ."

He Xinyan followed Gu Yechen to his house and looked around as they walked. This was the house that her grandfather and mother wanted. . .

"You like this house?" Gu Yechen asked as he opened the door.

"My grandfather and mother liked it. I also really like the design of this mansion." He Xinyan stepped into the house and realized that it was designed using mainly black and white colors in a very modern format.

There was a grand double staircase made of marble that led up to the second floor, which looked enormous from He Xinyan's view.

Gu Yechen allowed He Xinyan to admire the house for a while, and debated about whether he should tell her that this house was under her name.

In the end, he chose to not tell her yet and pick a different time to.

He Xinyan sat down on the black couch and Gu Yechen brought over two glasses of tea.

"What is your question?"

He Xinyan took a sip of the warm tea before asking, "I was wondering what you meant when you said you liked me in the car. Our relationship is fake, you know that right? You needed a girlfriend to prove you weren't gay, and I needed a powerful person to help me. So. . ."

Gu Yechen cut her off, "This fake relationship is fake."

". . ." What did that mean?

"I apologize for lying to you. I didn't choose you to be my girlfriend by accident, and I didn't need a girlfriend to clear up rumors. I could totally end all rumors about me by myself. I don't need a girlfriend to help me do that." Gu Yechen held onto the warm glass and gently blew the surface of the tea before taking a sip.

"Then why. . ."

"Because I like you." Gu Yechen wasn't the type of person to hide or suppress his emotions. He would get mad when he was mad, and he would say something is bad if it was bad. However, this was the first time he hid his feelings towards someone.

He didn't want to scare her and he really truly liked her. However, he couldn't hold in his feelings any longer. And since she wanted to know, he was going to tell her.

"Have we met before?" He Xinyan asked, unsure of when Gu Yechen fell in love with her. Although she couldn't remember much from eight years ago, she was sure that she never met Gu Yechen in the past. If she had met someone as handsome as him, she would definitely remember.

Unless. . . He Xinyan suddenly jumped up from the couch and turned to look back at Gu Yechen. Did he travel back in time? Or was he also reborn?

No way. . . Were there a lot of people like her that died and got a second chance?

"Do you remember the party the night I first saw you?"

He Xinyan thought back and immediately remembered. It was when Yang Yaqi and Li Yuyan had tricked her, but Gu Yechen saved her.

"Hahahaha!" He Xinyan burst out into laughter as she bounced up and down happily, "Wow! Gu Yechen fell in love with me at first sight! Am I really that attractive? Hahahaha!"

Gu Yechen stared at He Xinyan gravely and watched her laugh. He didn't expect something like love at first sight to happen with him either. Maybe it was just destiny. . .

"Are you telling the truth?" He Xinyan asked to make sure.

"Yes."

He Xinyan began laughing again but she stopped abruptly after a few seconds. But what was she going to do? Did she like him? He Xinyan had to admit that although Gu Yechen was really amazing, she didn't really have any feelings for him yet.

Realizing the awkward situation she was in, He Xinyan stood up and said without looking back, "It's getting late. I'm going to leave now. Bye!"

He Xinyan quickly lifted up her dress and ran out of the house. When she entered her house, she ignored Li Huiran and Li Yuyan, who were sitting on the couch like she had guessed, and ran upstairs.

She carefully took off the dress and shoes and placed them back into the black box. He Xinyan put the box on a table in the center of her closet and then took a shower.

After she was finished, she climbed onto her bed and stared blankly at the ceiling.
