"Hm. . . you are very suspicious right now."

Gu Yechen looked up with wide eyes, "She is not my fiancee! Baby, let me explain. Our families are quite close, so the parents joked about arranging a marriage for the two of us when we were young. However, my parents and I never took it seriously! It was always the Shen family that spread rumors about us getting married! However, none of it is true! He Xinyan watched as Gu Yechen nervously stared at her and held her two hands tightly.

If he really did that, He Xinyan could already imagine how sad the young miss of the Shen family would be. Her parents would also be very unhappy with how Gu Yechen treated their baby daughter.

Gu Yechen stared at He Xinyan's scary expression and laughed, "Okay! I promise I won't! What do you want to eat? I will treat you to this meal."

"Yay! I want to eat hot pot!" He Xinyan said excitedly although Gu Yechen treated her to every meal they ate together.

They arrived at the restaurant and entered a private room. After ordering a ton of dishes, they sat down to eat.

Halfway through the meal, Gu Yechen asked, "So Li Huiran is lying. . . Are you going to expose her?"

He Xinyan blew on the piece of meat she was holding and ate it, "Not yet! It's not time yet."

She grinned and stabbed her chopsticks into her bowl, "I need to kill them once and for all!"

After lunch, He Xinyan returned to the He mansion.

Once she opened the door, she heard Li Huiran's high-pitched voice.

"The fruit is too sour!"

"Oh! I'm sorry, madam. I will go change it right away."

He Xinyan raised one eyebrow and put on her slippers before walking into the room. When she reached the living room, she saw Li Huiran sitting on the couch with Li Yuyan next to her.

They were both watching a reality television show and there were several plates of food in front of them.

Li Huiran had one hand placed over her stomach, and there was a small smile on her face. They didn't seem to notice He Xinyan when she walked in.

He Xinyan watched them for a few seconds and then she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around and saw a worker carrying a plate of oranges.

"Hello, young miss." The worker greeted her, causing both Li Huiran and Li Yuyan to turn around and look at her.

"Oh, Yanyan is back!" Li Huiran said.

He Xinyan turned around and looked at Li Huiran, who leaned back against the couch comfortably.

She raised one eyebrow at Li Huiran.

"I'm sorry, but it isn't very convenient for me to stand up right now. After all, I am pregnant."

He Xinyan slightly furrowed her eyebrows and nodded her head, "Oh, really?"

Li Huiran frowned, "Yes, of course!"

He Xinyan smirked before turning around. She looked down at the plate of oranges and picked one up.

She bit into the orange and chewed for a few seconds, "The orange is so sweet. Auntie Li, I thought you liked sour food."

With a smile, she ate the remaining half of the orange slice and walked upstairs.

Li Huiran's smile disappeared and she glared at the worker.

"What are you standing there for?! Hurry up and give me the fruit!"

"Yes - Yes, ma'am."

He Xinyan heard Li Huiran's bossy command as she walked up the stairs. Even in the past, Li Huiran wouldn't treat the workers like this.

Although she was still arrogant, she didn't get angry without any reason. Or at least she tried to hold her attitude in. . .

Most of the workers inside the house were from when He Xinyan's mother and grandfather were still alive. There were several old workers like the butler who have been around since before He Xinyan was born.

Of course, there were also many new workers.

He Xinyan knew that none of the old workers really liked or respected Li Huiran and her daughter, although they couldn't show it on the outside.

They were loyal to the He family, and Li Huiran or Li Yuyan were both outsiders that only shamelessly "broke into" the He mansion.

Li Huiran must have felt it too because she never liked to stay around the workers either. When she first came to the He mansion, she was nice to all the workers and tried to build the image of a great female head of the family.

However, none of the workers really believed her act and they maintained a distance from Li Huiran. After a while, Li Huiran also gave up and she just ignored the workers.

However, now. . . Right after Li Huiran got pregnant, she was already acting all bossy and arrogant. This made He Xinyan disgusted.

It was good that she wasn't actually pregnant. If Li Huiran was, He Xinyan was afraid that in the future, she might not even have a position in the house anymore.

Li Huiran would strengthen her position as the female head, and she would use it to her advantage by acting all rude and arrogant.

He Xinyan walked into her room and closed her eyes as she jumped onto the bed.
