She drove to the shopping mall and stepped out of the car.

Inside the mall, she looked around and entered several shops. The distance from this mall to the restaurant was quite a distance, and she was running out of time.

In the end, she entered a female clothing shop and bought a simple white silk scarf with a red flower on it. She then bought several bags of snacks she enjoyed eating and a basket of fruits.

With everything in her hands, she quickly walked out of the shopping mall and stood outside waiting for a taxi.

A few seconds later, a woman also came out from the shopping mall and stood next to He Xinyan. She seemed to be also waiting for a car, and she was texting on her phone to someone.

He Xinyan glanced at her and couldn't help but gasp at the woman's beauty. The woman seemed to be in her late 20s or early 30s at most, and she had a gorgeous face and body.

It wasn't the sexy or charming kind of beauty, but more like a cute and easygoing look that made you want to be friends with her.

He Xinyan blinked a few times and thought that maybe this was a good sign! Seeing such beauty right before meeting Gu Yechen's parents! Today would also be a beautiful day!

He Xinyan's arms were getting a little sore as she was holding everything, and she turned around slightly to put the fruit basket down behind her.

He Xinyan narrowed her eyes and took a closer look. Her mouth opened in surprise when she saw that his hand was slowly moving toward the beautiful woman's purse.

His eyes were so focused on the purse that he didn't notice that He Xinyan was staring at him.

He Xinyan dropped everything she was holding immediately and screamed, "Robber! Catch the robber!"

The man flinched and realized that he was exposed. He snatched the purse from the woman, who probably wasn't holding on to it extremely tightly.

"Ah!"

He Xinyan was prepared and she immediately ran after the man down the street. She was very fast at running, but the heels she was wearing today slowed down her pace.

"Ugh!" He Xinyan kicked her heels off and lifted up her skirt to her knees before continuing to run. Because of this, she was now further from the robber and she had to speed up.

In middle school, she had won the 50-meter sprint and the 400-meter dash in the school sports competition.

He Xinyan took a deep breath in and used all of her energy to spring after the robber, who turned into a narrow alley.

At once, he regretted his decision. The alley was a dead end. He turned back around to leave but was greeted with He Xinyan's smiling face.

"Hi," He Xinyan said as she tried to slow down her breathing. The next second, she punched the man's chest as hard as possible, and he fell backward, crashing down onto the ground.

He Xinyan walked over to him and pulled him up by the collar.

"Forgive me! Please forgive me! Miss, please let me go! I'm wrong! I apologize!" If the robber had known that He Xinyan was such a fast runner, he would have never stolen from that woman.

"This is my first time stealing! Please forgive me!"

He Xinyan raised one eyebrow, "Really?"

"Yes, yes! I need money to pay for my daughter's medical fee! She is really sick and I have no other way anymore. I'm wrong! I'm sorry, please forgive me!"

He Xinyan didn't completely believe him. After all, trusting a robber was kind of hard.

"I can show you a picture of my daughter!"

He used his hand to pull out his phone and He Xinyan snatched it from him. He had opened it to a picture.

It was a young girl who seemed to be less than 10 years old. She was in the hospital bed, and she was wearing a respirator.

He Xinyan's heart softened a little when she saw the image, but she didn't show it.

"Robbing is still wrong!"

Tears rolled down the robber's face, "I know, I know. I won't do it again. I learned my lesson. Please forgive me."

Suddenly, the sound of heavy breathing interrupted their conservation, and He Xinyan turned around to see the really beautiful woman who was stolen from.

He Xinyan lifted the robber up from the ground and pushed him over to the woman, "Apologize."

The man bowed down several times, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have stolen from you. I really am stuck. My daughter is dying and I need money for her medical fee. I'm sorry! Here is your purse."

He pulled out the black purse from his pocket and handed it back to the woman.

The woman looked at the purse and grabbed it from the man. She then looked past him at He Xinyan, whose hair and outfit were messed up now from running.

The woman's mouth fell open slightly when she saw He Xinyan, and a quick sparkle flashed past her eyes.

She cleared her throat and walked over to He Xinyan, "Thank you for helping me!"

He Xinyan couldn't help but smile at the beautiful woman. She just looked too cute and likable, "No problem."

Suddenly, He Xinyan gasped and she pulled out her phone.

"Oh no!" There were only 15 more minutes until 12 P.M., but it took about 30 minutes to drive to the restaurant.

He Xinyan lifted up her dress again and walked over to the man, "Don't steal anymore! I know you are worried about your daughter, but stealing isn't right. There are other ways to get money without doing anything illegal."

The man bowed again, "I know, I know. I'm sorry."

He Xinyan turned to look at the woman and she smiled sweetly, "I'm going to go now. Goodbye!"

Before the woman could reply, she ran off.

"But -" The woman held up the pink shoes that she had picked up after He Xinyan kicked them off. She chuckled and walked over to the robber.

From her purse, she pulled out ten 10 hundred dollar bills and gave them to him.

"Don't steal anymore. I hope your daughter will recover soon."

The man immediately burst into tears, "Thank you, thank you! Thank you so much!"

The woman smiled before walking off with the pair of shoes still in her hands.

Only when she was in the taxi did she realize that she didn't have her shoes. He Xinyan's mouth fell open as she looked down at her bare and dirty feet.

The bottom of her feet was black from walking on the dirty ground.

Her skirt was also a little crumpled although she had just ironed it last night. When she opened up her phone camera to look at herself, she saw that her hair was also messed up, and it was all over the place.

"Ugh!!" He Xinyan slammed the back of her head to the chair and closed her eyes. She was beginning to regret helping that woman. Why did it have to happen today? Right before she was going to meet Gu Yechen's parents!

"Miss, are you okay?" The taxi driver asked.

"No." He Xinyan sighed, "Never mind. Can you maybe drive a little faster?"

The driver nodded and stepped down on the gas pedal harder.

Because it was during lunchtime, the traffic was quite bad, and it took even longer than expected to get to the restaurant.

He Xinyan pulled out her phone and called Gu Yechen.

"Yechen, I might be a little late. Something happened and I got held up a little."

"Don't worry. I'll wait for you outside the restaurant."

He Xinyan smiled when Gu Yechen didn't complain or get mad at her, "Thank you. I'll see you in a bit."

At 12:26, the car stopped in front of the Puxi Restaurant, and He Xinyan jumped off. She immediately noticed Gu Yechen standing at the door because he was the only one outside.

Well, he was also very eye-catching.

His tall stature and handsome face were easily noticeable. He Xinyan ran towards him and he frowned slightly when he saw that she wasn't wearing any shoes and looked very tired.

"What happened?"

He Xinyan grabbed onto Gu Yechen's arm and pulled him into the restaurant, "I'll tell you later. Are your parents here already? Let's go in."

The worker at the front desk furrowed her eyebrows slightly when he saw He Xinyan, but didn't say anything.

Gu Yechen led He Xinyan to the hallway with the private rooms, and they walked to the very last room at the end of the hallway.

"Wait! Wait! Wait!" He Xinyan quickly stopped Gu Yechen when she saw him place his hand onto the doorknob.

She pulled out her phone and quickly arranged her hair. Although it was still kind of messy, it was the best she could do.

With a sigh, He Xinyan looked up at Gu Yechen and said, "Let's go in."

Gu Yechen gently patted her on the head, "Don't worry. You look beautiful."

He Xinyan smiled and wrapped his hand around Gu Yechen's arm. Gu Yechen knocked once before pushing the door open and they walked into the room together.
